How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and

evaluation stages.

Page 2: Media - Question 4

Research and Planning

Google Chrome:• Researching digipak and advert • Search for existing professional media products• Really easy to use • Tabs allowed me to keep checking back over

existing products

Digipak and advert

Research and Planning

Microsoft PowerPoint:• Collating research into theorists• Put pictures, text and slide transitions in it• Not to difficult to understand

Slide Share• To get my PowerPoint onto my blog • Came with step by step instructions on how to upload • Instructions on how to embed my ‘PowerPoint’ into

my blog• Media 2.0 technology

Research and Planning

Prezi:• How I performed our pitch to my classmates.• It was a difficult piece of software at first• A few tutorials made it become easier to use• Media 2.0 Technological determinism. • Unable to create an original prezi• Set formats within prezi• Forced to create in a specific way

Page 5: Media - Question 4

Research and Planning

Microsoft Office:• Keep an online calendar between contacts• Able to create a draft filming timetable• Informed us of dates when we signed into

Microsoft Office

Page 6: Media - Question 4

Premiere Pro

Research and Planning:• Used in the pitch• Able to add different effects to each clip• Set effects were easily editable (not technology

determined) • Able to create transitions between clips from

scratch• Easily understandable software

Page 7: Media - Question 4

Premiere Pro

Production:• Easy to import the video files into the

‘library’• To get the lip sync exactly in time I used the

‘Jog’ bar this allowed me to slow the sequence down.

• To create slow motion in the clips I had to adjust the speed and duration of the clip. This was not too hard to complete.

To watch the music video back with out the files being too ‘big’ I had to render each video file. This was very time consuming throughout the production as it required rendering when we changed the clip slightly.

Production

Digital SLR:• Used for print tasks• Cannon EOS 550D• Able to adjust the settings to get good shots in

‘manual mode’.• Camera has 18.0 mega pixels

Page 9: Media - Question 4

Production

Panasonic HD DV camera:• HD format• Easy to use settings on the camera• Unable to pick up the light in the evenings• Auto focus allowed us to continually shoot without

worrying about the lens focus

• For the possibility of a re-shoot I would have experimented with the manual focus

Production

Photoshop• Easy to use/understand toolbars• Good rendering effects• Font styles• ‘Magnetic Lasso’ allowed me to cut around key

features I wanted. The image below is taken from my magazine advert. I used the lasso tool to get rid of the unwanted background behind her.

Page 11: Media - Question 4

Research and Planning• I used YouTube to upload the video clips that we used

for the Pitch to our classmates• YouTube created embed codes which allowed me to

post the video files onto my blog

Production:• To allow my audience to see the music video that I

have created I used YouTube to upload my video file onto the internet

• YouTube took along time to upload the music video because it was a large video file

The whole project!I have used Blogger throughout the

project to

• Create a project diary when filming• Keep a log of all the progress I

have made• Show my research into ‘real’ music

products and theories• Collate all my information.
