With more than 950 international exhibitors – the organisers of MUNICH FAbrIC STArT are counting on a successful kick-off event for the AUTUMN.WINTEr 15/16 season in Munich from 2-4 September 2014. An excellent exhibitor portfolio of the latest developments and innovations in fabrics and accessories on over 40,000 square meters of exhibit space will await the arrival of approximately 20,000 international trade visitors.

“We’re the ones kicking off the season. No other trade fair offers such a thoroughly edited and concentrated overview of the latest developments and trends at such an early time. Fewer and fewer of the important industry players are willing to miss out on this informational edge and the chance for an early exploration of the season’s options. That leaves only one conclusion: MUNICH FAbrIC STArT, boasting some 950 international fabrics and accessories manufacturers, has become firmly established as a leading international trade fair for textiles and accessories. For several seasons now, we’ve seen steady growth in the number of exhibitors – at a time of increasing international standards, no less”, states Sebastian Klinder, Managing Director of MUNICH FAbrIC STArT prior to the fair.

EXTrAandOrDINArY – FashionIn a dance between clarity and complexityAfter several extremely versatile and expressive seasons the creative flood of ideas, styles, colours, cuts, themes and their combination calms down. Visions and inspirations lead to the belief of more clarity.

Especially interesting to us as a textile fair remains the high creativity within the fabrics and findings! And through those materials even the normality is reset in a modern and new way. The season Autumn.Winter 15/16 focuses primarily on the connection between the ordinary and the extraordinary leading to this season’s title “EXTrAandOrDINArY”.Classic matters are on the rise with slightly minimalist entries and in technical materials. romantic themes are more dry and not as dreamy. High-tech influences are mixed with the pure and grounded. The dandy is dandy – only more progressive, and visionary, futuristic topics are connected to the earthly. Apparent, functional sportivity remains a major topic replenishing every collection and making the person look more active. This is oftentimes achieved by mixing fabrics and designs, for example barock jacquards for sports, bondings for classics or fur for casual.

With another increase in exhibitors BLUEZONE takes place on 2 and 3 September in a fully booked Zenith Hall. Altogether 75 international denim weavers, finishers and washers, including the who‘s who of the denim community, show the latest denim innovations, washes and finishes. Among the roughly 75 international weaving mills, finishers and laundries, there are several new participants, such as US Group, Denimco, Sartex

and others. The portfolio is rounded off by established divisions GrEENZONE, r.M.S. ready made Solutions and TiST - Tomorrow is Today with the first SprING.SUMMEr 16 developments.

True to BLUEZONE’s season title “rACE and ZEN“, two life philosophies collide, forming the fashionable and trendy field for a play of opposites between denims

and flat woven fabrics in AUTUMN.WINTEr 15/16. Two life philosophies collide here to create a composition of contradictions that will serve as a stage for the presentation of the stylish and trendy range of denims and flats for the 2015/2016 Autumn/Winter season. The tendencies here come from two directions: one is more technical and functional, featuring jeans with woven-in Kevlar and integrated protectors, while the other is more meditative, OM-oriented and peaceful. bALAGANS will bring pure denim inspiration to BLUEZONE. With a passion for denim, a love for craftsmanship and the courage to experiment, bALAGANS has developed its own denim design signature since its founding in 2011 far removed from

the style parameters set by cowboys and work clothing. In turning jeans traditions upside down and collaborating with artists and musicians from the street, denim designs are created that tell stories. balagans brings street atmosphere to BLUEZONE, and creates denim inspirations from art, design and personal handiwork. An experimentally developed collection is being presented, with which the hostesses and the Artmosphere Team will be dressed and styled.

The ECO VILLAGE is MUNICH FAbrIC STArT’s competence centre for the global sustainability theme and serves as a platform for certification bodies, consultants and non-profit organisations dealing with eco and natural materials as well as ecologically oriented corporate strategies.

The selection of sustainable and ecologically certified fabrics out of a portfolio from 900 international fabric and additionals manufacturers – this is the approach the organicselection follows every season at MUNICH FAbrIC STArT. And herewith gives the answer to the current market needs for information and sourcing opportunities of modern eco fabrics.The success of organicselection has proved that sustainability is essential and gives directions. However, not only are presented modern eco fabrics but as well

accessories since a few seasons. Since accessories and findings also require inspection and certification for confirming the sustainability of the complete finished product, certified sustainable additionals will be presented here in a pooled manner. After all, unlike with textiles there are hardly any independent schemes for verifying these requirements for accessories.

Nachhaltigkeit in der textilen Wertschöpfungskette

Die Herstellung von Textilien stellt eine besonders starke belastung für die Umwelt dar. Die Hot-Spots liegen dabei in der Supply Chain. Die produktionsprozesse sind wasser- und energieintensiv und es kommen zahlreiche Chemikalien zum Einsatz. Klimawandel und ressourcenknappheit stellen die Textil- und bekleidungsindustrie vor eine große Herausforderung – der Handlungsdruck wächst. Die branche hat die Aufgabe, ihre produktionsprozesse ökologisch verantwortbar zu gestalten, mit den ressourcen effizient umzugehen und Verschmutzung der Umwelt zu vermeiden. Auch Verbraucher können durch ihr Kauf- und Nutzenverhalten Einfluss nehmen. Weltweit verzweigte Supply Chains erschweren die Umsetzung. Aufgrund komplexer beschaffungsstrukturen sind die Einflussmöglichkeiten für Unternehmen auf die produktion häufig begrenzt. Verbraucher sind oft aufgrund mangelnder Textilkennzeichnung nicht in der Lage, sich bewusst für nachhaltige Textilien zu ent-scheiden. Trotz der Herausforderungen sind alle Akteure der textilen Wertschöpfungskette nicht nur in der pflicht, sondern auch in der Lage durch gezielte Maßnahmen die Umweltauswirkungen in der Textilproduktion zu beeinflussen.

Colour ForumThe elaborately staged Colour Forum is located in the lobby in front of Hall 2 and visualises the selected trend colours of the season.

Colour CardEvery season is summarized in five to six trend themes for womenswear and menswear, one theme is dedicated to denim and sportswear. Each trend theme is composed of images, moods, catwalks, texts and naturally 10 trend colours with the corresponding pantone® references.

Free Coffee barsIn every hall, we offer you free coffee specialties served at diverse coffee bars.

Free LunchWe offer you a free and tasty lunch on all three days of the fair.

MUNICH FAbrIC STArT is the first of the leading inter-national trade fairs for fabrics and accessories. Twice a year exhibitors from all over the world meet in Munich for the season opening to present the latest fabric and accessory trends to the fashion industry. With a unique trade fair format that provides sound trade and trend information in a productive working atmosphere com-bined with a personal touch, MUNICH FAbrIC STArT has meanwhile established as an international sourcing platform for designers, product managers and buyers.

About 950 exhibitors from 35 countries, around 1,500 collections and a comprehensive range of fabrics, ad-ditionals, fabric finishing and full-packaging services

ensure the competence and professionalism required by 20,000 trade visitors for a perfect season opening. MUNICH FAbrIC STArT covers the entire area of the Munich Order Center MOC as well as the neighbouring Zenith Hall. Top-class trend events, forums, trade publi-cations as well as star-studded panel discussions offer a substantial information pool to trade visitors.

The early entry in the new fashion season and a com-prehensive range from basic to haute couture collections convince industry professionals from throughout Europe.“Quality instead of quantity” while still staying close to the market is and will be the claim for those in charge at MUNICH FAbrIC STArT.

ASIA SALON

In 2003 the BLUEZONE was launched as a unique concept for the textile sector and is seen as the key starting point for all denim fairs. Focused in Hall 5 (Zenith Hall) right next door to the MOC are the fabric and accessories trends for the denim and sportswear segment. Meanwhile, approximately 70 of the world’s leading denim weavers, finishers and washers present the latest developments for denim-, street- and sportswear. To the season S/S 12, BLUEZONE has started into a new era: Under the slogan “Tomorrow is Today” or shortly “TisT”, the future is taken as programme. The centrepiece of this visionary concept

lies in presenting two seasons, the current season but also initial ideas and developments for the next season. by this the sourcing is given a new creative dimension - already today trends are presented that will become more and more important tomorrow. Exhibitors in this section include: Orta Anadolu, ISKO, Europa, ITV, Tejidos royo, Candiani S.p.A , bossa, Calik Denim.

In 2006 the ASIA SALON was formed as a stage for se-lected manufacturers from the Asian region. In addition to showcasing high-tech systems for outerwear, the collections in Atrium 3 also focus on trend ranges for

lingerie, fashion and sportswear – for both woven and knitted goods. Exhibitors in this section include: TaeOh, Concordia, Tex-Link, Everest and Kunshan Huayue.

Another Creative Dimension! Initiated in September 2012, DESIGN STUDIOS is the concrete response to a growing need for progressive and individual de-sign solutions in the textile industry. The creative plat-form of MUNICH FAbrIC STArT has established as independent exhibition format in the firstFlooR and opens a new creative dimension to the visitor’s design

process. Textile designers and trend offices from all over the world present their textile designs and latest developments thus offering the sourcing process to be arranged more flexible. Exhibitors in this section include: Anteprima, Gibson Design Studio, robert Vernet, Lica Design, bernini, Amsterstampa and Tom Cody Design.

Services beyond fabrics! SHOWrOOMS is the con-crete answer to changing demands on the market. In September 2009 MUNICH FAbrIC STArT ex-tended its range to include full-packaging suppli-ers. In the classy surroundings at SHOWrOOMS, selected firms present their entire range of services. They are taking over where manufacturers and trad-ing firms leave off in terms of sourcing and production.

SHOWrOOMS is just a further proof that MUNICH FAbrIC STArT is right on to the market demands. It maintains its flexibility while remaining a significant service partner for the market. Exhibitors in this seg-ment include: Teijin Frontier, blustar, Tat Fung, H. D. Isler and Lagoon.

COLLECTIONSThe entire product range of fashion fabrics from basic to haute couture creations for all apparel segments is pre-sented on three exhibition floors. These include woven and knitted fabrics in wool, cotton, silk, silk-look und functional fabrics. Also to be found here are relatively new fibres such as bamboo, polylactic and milk fibres, high-tech coatings and intelligent fabric systems for

activewear. Highly topical themes and new market trends such as sustainability, eco-certifications or or-ganic fibres are focussed, – where necessary – espe-cially highlighted and explained by experts. // ArEAS & EXHIbITOrS

ADDITIONALSTrims and accessories form the second focus of the trade fair. More than two halls feature some 200 of the world’s leading specialists showcasing both functional and decorative ideas in this segment. This area offers the latest trends in buttons, ribbons, ornamentations, rhinestones, fasteners and labels. The latest develop-

// THE LOCATION

MOC Foyer BLUEZONE | Zenith Halle

MUNICH FAbrIC STArT is held at a modern trade fair and exhibition centre, the Munich Order Centre (MOC) in the north of Munich. The unique architecture is brightand spacious providing different stand and presentation possibilities. The range of exhibition space spans from white stands and light-flooded atriums to individual studios. This creates a comfortable and productive working atmosphere that is appreciated by both, exhibitors and visitors time and again.

BLUEZONE is located in the Zenith Hall (Hall 5) only a few metres away from the MOC. This old factory build-ing dating from the 20s with the charm of its industrial past creates an inspiring and product-oriented working environment for exhibitors and visitors alike.

The exhibition venue of MUNICH FAbrIC STArT con-sisting of these two locations can easily be reached by car and public transport and offers sufficient parking fa-cilities.
