Notes 1. The contents of this document are Dangerous Waste Permit affecting. 2. Please note that source, special nuclear and byproduct materials, as defined in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 (AEA),

are regulated at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) facilities exclusively by DOE acting pursuant to its AEA authority. DOE asserts, that pursuant to the AEA, it has sole and exclusive responsibility and authority to regulate source, special nuclear, and byproduct materials at DOE-owned nuclear facilities. Information contained herein on radionuclides is provided for process description purposes only.

3. DEP-COND-00001 is designed with provisions for 1.5-inch thickness of personnel protection (PP) insulation. The heads are insulated with Mineral Fiber Blanket (Density = 8 lb/ft3), and the shell insulation is Expanded Perlite Block (Density = 13 lb/ft3) . The insulation is provided and installed under an insulation subcontract.

4. This equipment is located in an R3 radiation area (Average Radiation Area), which is designed to have a target radiation level of less than 2.5 mrem/hr (Ref. 5, Table 5-1). The average contact dose rate is 3.75E-04 rad/hr for an equipment life of 21+ years (Ref. 6, Table 8-1).

5. See Ref. 1 for connecting piping sizes and end connections. 6. Ref. 2 gives the normal and maximum pressures to be 1.25 and 1.37 psia. This is converted to psig by subtracting

14.35. 7. All properties shown are given for the maximum temperature (sizing case). The shell-side density and viscosity are

provided at the maximum film temperature of 106°F. 8. The height given is from the bottom of the support leg to the top of Nozzle 1 (Ref. 1 ). The support legs provided will

attach to Bechtel provided supports, which extend from the floor.
