MCOM This routine will calculate a detailed set of lengths for a common-pitched roof given: - Pitch - Span in FIS (Feet Inch Sixteenths) - Ridge Thickness in Inches - HAP in Inches (Height Above Plate; i.e. Heel Height) - OHang in Inches (finished total overhang run) - Wall Sheathing Thickness in Inches - Roof Sheathing Thickness in Inches - SubFascia Type Height in Inches (i.e. 2x4 = 3.5”) - Fascia Thickness in Inches (i.e. 1x8 = .75”) - Fascia Type Height in Inches (i.e. 1x8 = 7.25”) - Desired Fascia Reveal in Inches (how far down below the soffit the fascia reveal is) Items calculated by this routine are: - Rafter length - Calculated Rise - Tail Cut (the along-the-top length of the rafter tail) - Total Board Length (rafter length + tail length; along-the-top of the board) - Order Lumber Size (rounded up to the nearest 2’ increment lumber size) - Half Span - cRun (the actual rafter run; from over outside of plate to face of ridge) - Scaffold Height (calculated for a 6’ tall framer; vertical length from rafter seat to foot of framer) - Ridge Height (vertical length from rafter seat to the top of the ridge: (cRise + HAP)) As with all of these routines, the user is “prompted” to enter the required numbers so that the calculation can be performed. This routine will calculate a detailed set of lengths for a common-pitched roof given:- Pitch- Span in FIS (Feet Inch Sixteenths)- Ridge Thickness in Inches- HAP in Inches (Height Above Plate; i.e. Heel Height)- OHang in Inches (finished total overhang run)- Wall Sheathing Thickness in Inches- Roof Sheathing Thickness in Inches- SubFascia Type Height in Inches (i.e. 2x4 = 3.5”)- Fascia Thickness in Inches (i.e. 1x8 = .75”)- Fascia Type Height in Inches (i.e. 1x8 = 7.25”)- Desired Fascia Reveal in Inches (how far down below the soffit the fascia reveal is)

Items calculated by this routine are:- Rafter length- Calculated Rise- Tail Cut (the along-the-top length of the rafter tail)- Total Board Length (rafter length + tail length; along-the-top of the board)- Order Lumber Size (rounded up to the nearest 2’ increment lumber size)- Half Span - cRun (the actual rafter run; from over outside of plate to face of ridge)- Scaffold Height (calculated for a 6’ tall framer; vertical length from rafter seat to foot of framer)- Ridge Height (vertical length from rafter seat to the top of the ridge: (cRise + HAP))

As with all of these routines, the user is “prompted” to enter the required numbers so that the calculation can be performed.
