WHAT IS STOP MOTION?

Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own.

Objects are moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence.

Clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning.

HOW WILL WE START WITH STOP MOTION AND LINE?

Our first project will start with drawing!

You will draw a pattern using the Element of Art: Line.

You MUST have a MINIMUM of 45 frames. This creates the best quality stop motion film.

Page 15: McMath Autobiography Presentation

THEN…..

You will begin to draw your pattern while capturing each addition to your pattern in FameByFrame.

Please bring in any drawing tools from home you would like to use for this project!
