    N E W S L E T T E R

    The Pupils at MCMAboys and girls school arebeing treated to a brand-new building!The high-tech roomsare just waiting for their

    brilliant creations!

    This building is not likeany other. It is shapedlike a hexagon thatblends into a backgroundof trees and woods. Awhopping 38 millionwas put towards thisexciting build!

    The new academy isntjust a place to learn; therewill be a gigantic stagefor our drama, dance andmusic departments withhigh tiered seating andstate of the arts acoustics.

    There is an open area inthe middle of the hexagonfor pupils to relax andenjoy themselves during

    breaks. A stage in themiddle acts as a greatplace to hold summerconcerts in the sun!

    new building is going tobe like an adventure andalso said that all theirfriends are very excitedtoo!

    Each room is designedfor its intendedpurpose, ICT rooms withmodern computers andinteractive boards andstudios with recordingdecks and microphonesfor our music rooms. Notalent goes unnoticed;there is something foreveryone.

    The ideas FoundaTion

    Pupils from across boththe boys and the girls

    site of MCMA startedworking with the IdeasFoundation to create anonline magazine for theacademy.

    The seven girls from MCMAfocused on the journalismaspect of the project, whilstworking with professionaljournalist to create contentfor the website, while theboys concentrated on thedesign and layout of thewebsite and worked with atop graphic designer John

    One of the lucky pupilsinvolved with the projectsaid Its been a greatexperience. Ive learnt somuch at the sessions thatwill help me a lot in thefuture!

    The chance to take partin this project was anamazing opportunity andthe result is fantastic!

    AND LEARN SOMETHINGNEW WITH OUR FRIENDS!

    Enrichment is something forstudents to look forward toand makes people want tocome to school so they cantake part in the fun activities.In year seven and eight you

    get to go on trips such asTatton Park or CadburysWorld.

    There are also many activitiesorganized at the academythroughout the day suchas making paper mashiepuppets, baking cakes, slam

    poetry and much more.Its fun and we feel like wehave earned it after twoweeks of normal lessons.

    Enrichment provides thestudents with differentexperiences that they mightnever get chance to do, it is

    really good and enjoyableto learn in a new way.

    SUCCESS AT SPORTS CITYThe girls and boys from both academiesgathered for a challenging yet fun-lledday of sports at Sports City on Friday

    22nd June.

    Competition heated up between theforms as competitors battled it out onthe sports eld.

    Misha Bs Dream Big Tourhit the stage at the BoysAcademy for anotheramazing rewards concert,giving the students anunforgettable experience.

    Students with high attendanceand good behaviour arerewarded with a ticket to amusic concert every year,which is held at the Academysite. In the past we have hadR.I.O, Fugitive, Precious,Bluey Robinson and TheHoosiers.

    DREAMING BIG

    WITH MISHA B

    This time the students wentcrazy for the X Factor starand Manchesters ownmusical sensation; Misha B.She wowed the audiencewith songs she performedon the X Factor plus her new

    single Home Run.

    Misha stayed to talk to thestudents about her music,X Factor and her futureplans and signed t-shirts andpictures.
