With over 100 area business and community partners, MCIT is committed to providing students with real life experience that will prepare them for the world of work. Students complete hands-on internship experiences outside of the classroom and in the field as supplement to classroom instruction. Students can further advance their knowledge in a particular field of study through participation in any number of student organizations.

Strong partnerships with Ivy Tech Community College, Vincennes University, and Indiana University allow students to earn college credit for high school coursework, often at little or no cost.

MCKENZIE CENTER FOR INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Available to students from Lawrence Central and Lawrence North, the McKenzie Center for Innovation & Technology (MCIT) houses state-of-the-art equipment and materials in the classrooms and labs. MCIT embraces rigorous academic programs and diverse technological career courses. Students are prepared for post-secondary education at two and four-year colleges, military service, workplace entry, or advanced technical training in a variety of business, medical, and industrial fields. The low teacher-student ratio, nurturing environment, cutting edge technology, and broad array of career programs, dual-credit courses and national certifications are continually cited as advantages by McKenzie students.

Programs available to students include: Auto Service Technology, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Interactive Media, Computer Technology, Culinary Arts, Health Services, Criminal Justice, Construction Trades, JAG (Jobs for America’s Grads), Project Lead the Way (PLTW), Biomedical Sciences, PLTW Pre-Engineering, and Business.
