BACKGROUND & RATIONALE: The presentation will provide a brief overview and analysis of philanthropic results for FY15, and a look ahead at Advancement’s short - and mid-term strategic objectives. ALIGNMENT WITH MISSION AND STRATEGIC PRIORITIES: McGill’s achievements and capacity to remain competitive across a full spectrum of scholarly activities are directly linked to the support it receives from philanthropic endeavours. Philanthropic success will continue to play an integral role in helping McGill achieve its objectives, and overcome revenue challenges. Versions of this Report have been previously presented to members of the Senior Administration, Senate and the Investment and Finance Committees. COMPLIANCE WITH UNIVERSITY POLICY: Reports on philanthropy are routinely presented to the Board, its subcommittees and Senate. COMPLIANCE WITH LEGISLATION/ EXTERNAL REGULATIONS: There are no legislative requirements related to the Report. RISK FACTORS: Future fundraising challenges are outlined in the attached presentation. A new initiative: Giving Day

A fun, high-profile, 24-hour philanthropic blitz on March

16th, 2016

The objective:

• Rally support and increase donor participation from all regions, with

a focus on younger alumni

Tactics will include:

grassroots support
