As aspiring leaders, we join the Jones School to develop ourselves through academic pursuit and contributions to our community. To demonstrate our commitment, we will:

¥ Act with integrity,

¥ Value the differences in individuals, and

¥ Strive for excellence.

In accordance with this commitment, we hold ourselves accountable to be prepared, respect the wisdom of our faculty and peers, and practice intellectual curiosity. We will also hold our instructors accountable to help us develop the skills and intuition necessary to distinguish Jones School graduates as

superlative leaders. Upon graduation, we will demonstrate principled leadership in our communities and uphold strong ethical values while guarding the reputation of our peers, school, and profession.

HONOR CODERice has a high trust culture that obligates individuals to preserve our legacy of honor. Developing principled leaders starts on day one. Academic integrity in the form of the Rice Honor Code is presented as soon as a student begins the Rice MBA program. Violations of the Rice Honor Code are handled by the Rice Honor Council which handles any abuses reported. “On my honor, I have neither given nor received any unauthorized aid on this exam or paper.” – Student Signature

AS A LEADER IN THE JSA, I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH MY FELLOW CLASSMATES, AS WELL AS FACULTY, STAFF AND ALUMNI, TO MAKE THE MBA EXPERIENCE RICHER FOR THE ENTIRE STUDENT BODY. DURING MY SECOND YEAR I STRENGTHENED THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE PROFESSIONALS AND FULL-TIME STUDENT BODY, AND BETWEEN THE CURRENT PROFESSIONALS STUDENTS AND ALUMNI.

As aspiring leaders, we join the Jones School to develop ourselves through academic pursuit and contributions to our community.

en decided to pursue an MBA to accelerate his career development and establish stronger connections in the Houston

business community. “I wanted to position myself for the next phase of my career by adding to my skills and expanding my network. The most meaningful part of my Rice MBA experience is all of the strong relationships I have established with my classmates. I am already building a diverse network of friends and colleagues that will support my development throughout my career.”

His advice to incoming MBA for Professionals students is to “take full advantage of the unique opportunities offered by the Jones School. You will have a lot on your plate between work, school and family, but don’t miss the chance to really get engaged with the program and with your fellow classmates. Pick activities that interest you and invest some time making a contribution. Get to know your classmates outside of the classroom. You’re only in the program for a short time, make it count.”

an Parsley started as an intern in Texas Monthly’s human resources department during the fall of her senior year at

UT Austin. She worked her way up to assistant to the founder and publisher to sales resource specialist to associate project manager and eventually project manager. It wasn’t long before she realized, however, how helpful a business background would be. “For someone who enjoys learning, the MBA was the perfect route to round out my education and put me on a new trajectory for a more challenging and long-term career.”

Once she entered the program, Nan found the required Career Management Center (CMC) course to be a valuable exercise in identifying what exactly she should be looking for in her next career move. “The CMC helped me polish my resume, correspond with Rice alumni, and interview with Sysco. Perhaps the best tool provided by the CMC for me was the online modules that Jones School students have access to. If you take advantage of what Rice has to offer you both inside and outside of the classroom, you will get more than your money’s worth.”

Nan started her new job at Sysco before graduation and the transition was smooth. “What I love about the job is that I’m part of a team overseeing the implementation of a large corporate initiative to use local, regional and national customer and consumer insights to guide key product, pricing and procurement decisions. Being a part of the oversight team, I get to be a part of many different conversations related to the project, including consumer insights, strategy, supply chain, IT and change management.”

Her advice to future MBAP students interested in career advancement or change is to “start talking to people as early as possible. Talk to your classmates, faculty and staff and let them know that you are open to an industry or functional change within the same industry. Also, take a balanced approach to the program. The relationships you make and extracurricular activities available are just as important as the content you will study in your courses.”

FOR METHIS NEW JOB PROVIDED INSTANT VALIDATION OF MY DECISION TO GET AN MBA.WHILE I KNEW I WANTED TO SWITCH INDUSTRIES, I WAS UNSURE WHERE I WANTED TO GO, BUT REALIZED THAT I WANTED TO FOCUS ON MARKETING AND STRATEGY ELECTIVES. A CLASSMATE INTRODUCED ME TO AN ALUMNA WHO OWNS A STRATEGIC MARKETING AGENCY, SO I MET WITH THE OWNER. WHEN SYSCO CAME UP IN OUR CONVERSATION, SHE COULDN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE EXCITING WORK THAT WAS TAKING PLACE THERE (HER AGENCY PRODUCED SYSCO’S SUSTAINABILITY REPORT). UPON HER RECOMMENDATION, I BEGAN RESEARCHING THE COMPANY AND NETWORKING WITH EVERYONE I KNEW WHO HAD CONNECTIONS THERE. THE MORE I LEARNED, THE MORE INTERESTED I BECAME. EVERYONE HAD GREAT THINGS TO SAY.

ith areas of interest ranging from social consumer behavior, online marketing issues to relational aspects of consumer

behavior, Professor Dholakia understands the influence technology has on the future of business and how it is conducted. He says, “It’s hard to imagine any area of business, whether it is self-service kiosks, app-driven accounting and inventory management systems that function in real time, or data warehouses that record every consumer action, that is not fueled by technology. And studies indicate that the pace of technological

innovation and adoption by businesses is only accelerating and will continue to do so. It’s an exciting time to be in the management profession, yet for managers the challenges associated with assessing, adopting and implementing new technologies are greater now than ever before.”

Professor Dholakia’s research interests lie in studying motivational psychology of consumers and online marketing issues such as virtual communities and online auctions. He also studies relational

ithin six weeks of starting the MBA program, Matt and his wife found out that their family of four was growing to five

and that one of their twin daughters would need immediate open heart surgery to repair two holes in her heart. “During my first semester, the surgery was successful. Within two weeks, her heart had remodeled, returned to a normal size, and she’s had a full recovery. By second semester we had a completely healthy third daughter.”

For Matt, balance is a relative term, and different people have different priorities. “Don’t overextend yourself. Have fun and enjoy your classmates. Learn the fundamentals that you came to Rice to strengthen. But as much as you can, take advantage of the on-campus opportunities to learn and diversify yourself, like Jones Partners Thought Leadership Series. You’d be amazed at the quality of speakers that come to the Jones School.”

GOING INTO THE PROGRAM, I KNEW THAT BALANCING FAMILY, WORK AND SCHOOL WOULD BE A CHALLENGE. I MADE THOSE THREE CATEGORIES MY CODE AND LIFE THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM WOULD BE PRIORITIZED ACCORDING TO THAT CODE IN THAT ORDER — FAMILY, WORK, SCHOOL. LUCKILY, MY WIFE HAD RECENTLY BEEN THROUGH AN MBA PROGRAM AND WAS AWARE OF THE TIME CONSTRAINTS; THAT WAS HUGE!

9

During the program, Matt enjoyed the coursework as well as the camaraderie with his peers. “The Jones School designs the Rice MBA so there is a lot of opportunity to interact with your peers in a non-class environment. I really liked the evening pre-class meals where classmates socialize, break bread and get to know each other outside the classroom.”

In the last week of school, Matt moved, resigned from his job, started his company and gave his capstone presentation. “Investing in a Rice MBA is a long-term win. The reputation of the school, faculty and alumni brings credibility and distinction to my degree. Earning a Rice MBA was a great career decision. ”

WHAT IMPACTED ME MOST FROM THE TRIP TO MEXICO WERE THE CANDID INSIGHTS INTO THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM AND CULTURE. THE SPEAKER AT THE IPADE BUSINESS SCHOOL AND VISIT TO THE NEILSON LAB COMPLEMENTED WHAT I’D LEARNED DURING MY FIRST SEMESTER OF CORE COURSE WORK—ALL IN AN INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENT. IN ADDITION TO THE EDUCATIONAL ASPECT OF THE INTERNATIONAL TRIP THERE WAS AMPLE OPPORTUNITY FOR SOCIAL INTERACTION WITH CLASSMATES FROM ALL THREE RICE MBA PROGRAMS. I’LL NEVER FORGET LUCHA LIBRE, FUTBOL GAMES AND SHARED ESCAMOLE. MY TRIP TO MEXICO WAS A VALUABLE EXPERIENCE, AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING CHINA DURING MY SECOND YEAR.

im Rudolph positioned herself to be available for the next big opportunity. “I worked hard at my job, spoke about

what I was studying in the MBA program, invited some of my managers to contribute to projects or assignments I was working on in the program and networked inside and outside the company. Through these exchanges, I made clear my availability for an international role and my dedication to the company’s objectives.”

Living and working abroad opens a wealth of new experiences for Kim. “My favorite part has been the opportunity to immerse myself in a different culture and see the world through the locals’ eyes. In Perth, the view just happens to be pristine beaches and lots of sunshine! Aside from the personal aspects, working abroad demands that I take on a broad range of challenges in the work place, expand my frame of reference when confronting a problem, and communicate effectively and precisely.”

1. Be resilient. Whether your frustration is working from a different time zone from your head office, which often means early morning and late night calls or cultural differences or taxation issues, a certain amount of patience and fortitude is required to resolve unexpected headaches.

2. Communication is key in an international assignment. Simply put, clarify your objectives and deliverables.

3. Taking a management role abroad requires educating yourself on local customs, laws and regulations that might impact you and your company. My company assisted in this, but I also spent extra hours reading and learning.

4. Evaluate all the influencing factors in a given work situation. The holistic approach we were trained in when completing case studies prepared me for the global issues and certain missteps companies take when working abroad.

hris was fortunate to report to a mentor who used his MBA education and turnaround consulting experience

to drive enormous change in the public-sector environment. “He recognized my diverse interests and really pushed me to pursue an MBA as a way to build the competencies and network I would need to have a similar experience. My experience in the Rice MBA program has left a lasting imprint on my development as a leader.”

The Rice MBA program prepared his team to brainstorm creative ideas, construct relevant filters to rank those options by feasibility and risk, and arrive at an optimal recommendation they could defend. “But more importantly,” Chris added. “You learn that cognitive barriers and organizational idiosyncrasies can stand in the way of sound analysis. The Rice MBA certainly builds your ability to think outside of the box and brainstorm creative solutions to tough situations.”

The Capstone Course gives MBA students from the Professionals program the opportunity to participate in a real-world applied learning activity outside of work and the traditional classroom. Teams of students are matched with different community organizations in January, and over the semester the teams and their professors develop recommendations that can help community organizations solve critical strategic challenges,

such as major growth or expansion plans, organization turnaround strategies, and new ventures by the organization in need of a business plan. The capstone experience brings together multiple functional areas like strategy, finance and marketing to solve a real management problem in an array of industries including nonprofits and governmental entities. The course is offered during the spring semester.

CAPSTONE COURSE

CAPSTONE IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY LEARN FROM THE INTERSECTION OF YOUR TEAMMATES’ EXPERIENCE AND THE COURSEWORK. BUT, IT ALSO PREPARED US TO COMBINE OUR FINANCE, OPERATIONS, MARKETING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS TO REALLY TAKE A HARD LOOK AT WHAT WOULD WORK FOR OUR CAPSTONE ORGANIZATION, POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE (PCA). OUR JOB WAS TO CREATE A SET OF STRATEGIC RECOMMENDATIONS THAT LEVERAGED PCA’S EXISTING COMPETENCIES, WAS FEASIBLE TO IMPLEMENT, AND SUBSEQUENTLY IMPROVED THE VALUE THEY PROVIDE TO BOTH BENEFICIARIES AND FUNDERS.

calling. She started with Teach for America in Miami, Florida, spent four years back in Austin with KIPP, and then took a position as grade level chair and teaching seventh grade English at YES Prep in Houston. With two colleagues from her school already in the program, she knew she wanted to pursue

WHILE VISITING THE JONES SCHOOL PRIOR TO APPLYING FOR MY MBA, I WAS INTRIGUED BY THE FINANCE CENTER AND LOOKED FORWARD TO WORKING WITH BLOOMBERG TERMINALS. IT BECAME CLEAR THAT THE WRIGHT FUND WOULD GIVE ME THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE THEORIES LEARNED IN CLASS. DURING MY TIME WORKING ON THE WRIGHT FUND, I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO UNDERSTAND THE MARKET FROM A COMPANY LEVEL TO A SECTOR LEVEL.

AN INTIMATE MEETING WITH WARREN BUFFETT Every year billionaire Warren Buffett invites business students to visit him at his Omaha-based conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway. He holds informal question-and-answer sessions with the students, which are closed to media and business professionals, along with lunch and personal photo sessions. Rice MBAs traveled to Nebraska for the once-in-a-lifetime experience. Impressed by Buffett’s accessible, energetic

manner, students were also inspired by his advice about principled behavior, passion for “what you do,” and selflessness. Buffett said about Jesse H. Jones, “Jesse Jones was a hero of the Great Depression and I not only read his book decades ago about the Reconstruction Finance Corporation but more recently have watched a tape about his life that the Foundation sent me. He is a real American icon.”

Despite a volatile and challenging stock market, the Jones Graduate School of Business’ student-run M.A. Wright Fund continues to generate impressive returns. Comprising students selected through a rigorous application and interview process, the Fund provides them with a hands-on opportunity to learn, develop, and apply effective stock analysis and portfolio management risk and return techniques. This student-run fund was established in 1995 with a generous memorial grant by the M.A. Wright family. The fund’s excess earnings are used to provide endowed scholarships.

The Wright Fund’s home base for investment analysis and performance monitoring is the El Paso Corporation Finance Center located in the Jones School, providing students access to the center’s state-of-the-art research resources and analytical software. Students get hands-on experience using extensive data sources and powerful analytical tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters, @Risk, Research Insight, Crystal Ball, and AFG’s proprietary analytical tools.

HAVING AN MBA IN THE FIELD OF HEALTH CARE ADMINISTRATION IS A PREREQUISITE. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PART OF MY CAREER PLAN. I HAVE ALREADY USED SEVERAL OF THE SKILLS FROM MY OPERATIONS CLASS TO IMPROVE PATIENT FLOW AND EFFICIENCY IN OUR OUT-PATIENT WOUND CARE CLINIC. ALSO, I HAVE USED SEVERAL OF THE TOOLS FROM DATA ANALYSIS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND STAFF PRODUCTIVITY IN OUR DIETARY DEPARTMENT.

Distinguished by a strong foundation in accounting, finance, marketing, organizational behavior and management, the Jones School also has a deep-rooted connection to health care. The school provides students with faculty expertise in both business and medicine by leveraging its relationships with and proximity to the Texas Medical Center — the world’s largest — and delivers leading-edge theory and practical application.

The health care specialization track is for fully employed MBA students already in the field of health care who are seeking to advance themselves in the industry. In order to graduate from the MBAP program with a specialization in health care, students will be required to complete additional credit hours. Health care electives are offered year round.

I did several special projects before I worked at the corporate office and before returning to obtain my Master of Nursing from the University of Sydney. Discovering her passion for health care operations, Erin’s long term career goals have gone global. “My long term career goals lie in international health care operations. My MBA has only increased this desire and also helped me operationalize how I would go about reaching these goals.”

etsen originally pursued an MBA because he wanted to advance into management. “During the program, I worked

at NASA as a software project manager. I discovered in school, however, that my passion was for marketing and strategy, which led me to pursue a career change. As a result, I went through the MBA recruiting process, attended the NSHMBA conference, and was recruited by several companies — Target, Ford Motor Company, Discover Card.”

One of the major benefits for Betsen during the program was its relevance to his job. “Every day I was able to take back what I learned in class and see how I could apply it in a real-world environment while also discussing how my classmates were applying the same knowledge at their own companies. Based on this, I received a deeper understanding of the principles we were learning while gaining the various ways to apply that knowledge to a job situation.”

The work-life balance was the hardest part of the MBAP program for Betsen. “Before I started, I talked to my wife and we set up a schedule that was very effective. During the week, when I wasn’t in class, we kept having dinner with each other as a priority. Then, each weekend, one day was dedicated to my school work, which was when I was either going to the library, working at home, or meeting with my team from the program, and the other day was solely dedicated to my wife, family, and friends. We made it work.”

Betsen’s advice to prospective Professionals students? “First of all, this is not a part-time MBA program. It’s a full-time MBA program while you are working, and the value you will get out of it is based on what you put into it. You will have to find your own personal way to manage the work-life balance, but I encourage you to fully invest yourself in the program in terms of how hard you work at it and spending time with your classmates and building that network.”

THE RICE MBA HAS PLAYED THE MOST DEFINING ROLE IN MY CAREER TO DATE. AFTER TWO YEARS AT TARGET, I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO OUR MARKET RESEARCH AND STRATEGY TEAM. WITHOUT THE RICE MBA, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO QUICKLY UNDERSTAND THE MERCHANDISING, MARKETING, AND FINANCE SIDES OF TARGET, WHICH ALLOWED ME TO SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITION INTO MY NEW ROLE. THE RICE MBA HELPED DEVELOP MY BUSINESS ACUMEN, MY PROBLEM SOLVING AND STRATEGIC THINKING SKILLS, MY ABILITIES TO COLLABORATE SUCCESSFULLY WITH OTHERS, AND MY COMMUNICATION SKILLS.

Being able to apply reasoning and concepts outside of the narrow setting in which students have learned them in class is what is going to distinguish managers throughout their professional career.”

The finance department at the Jones School has an amazing culture of collaborative work. “People in the department get on so well together that we always have lunch together, and we talk about work, research, the economy and many other interesting things. People are so passionate about finance and economics that we generate new research ideas along the way. We often work on joint research based on ideas that we have generated over lunch or at a bar over a beer!”

ormer All-American and national team member in springboard and platform diving, Hank has the drive and

discipline of an athlete, which, as it turns out, translates well to business and entrepreneurship. “I moved back to Houston after two years teaching sixth grade special needs math in the South Bronx with Teach For America and three years with Exhale teaching yoga and pilates and then opening and running locations for the spa in Boston, the Hamptons, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.”

While in business school Hank took advantage of all the resources available to him, including professors and classmates. Before graduation he wrote a business plan, filed his business name with the county office, and negotiated the lease on his first studio location. “Yes, I followed my passion for fitness, but I also approached it as a combination of my skills and experiences with teaching, opening studios for Exhale, real estate, and everything I was learning in my MBA courses.”

With four studios in Houston and the ironing out of details to franchise the company, DEFINE is constantly evolving. “In my entrepreneurship class the word “define” kept coming up. I started to think about how many ways we use it — personally, in business, in fitness — and how powerful it is. That’s when I knew I had to file a DBA immediately.” Today, DEFINE not only meets the needs of people at different stages and skill levels, it helps them define their next step.

DEFINE offers a transforming and re-energizing workout that includes their signature barre exercise class combining Pilates, yoga, barre work, and core strengthening along with other traditional classes. DEFINE foods brings food education and natural foods cooking classes to further balance a healthy lifestyle. The Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship (Rice Alliance) is Rice University’s nationally-recognized initiative devoted to the support of technology commercialization, entrepreneurship education, and the launch of technology companies. It was formed as a strategic alliance of three schools: the George R. Brown School of Engineering, the Wiess School of Natural Sciences and the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business in collaboration with the Vice Provost and the Office of Research.

The Rice Alliance is a catalyst for building successful ventures through education, guidance and connections. Its mission is to support the creation of technology-based companies and the commercialization of new technologies in the Houston community and Southwest.

Since its inception in 2000, the Rice Alliance has assisted in the launch of more than 250 start-ups which have raised more than half a billion dollars in early-stage capital. Over 1000 companies have presented at more than 125 programs hosted by the Rice Alliance.

The Rice University Business Plan Competition is the world’s richest and largest. The competition has grown from nine teams in 2001 to 42 teams from around the world competing for more than $1.3 million in cash and prizes today. Over 133 past competitors are in business today having raised in excess of $394 million.

RICE BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION

In 2012 Jess was COO of Action Figure Labs – a retail toy company commercializing 3D printing technology. “As a first-year student, I had never experienced RBPC and it was completely overwhelming. After seeing the setup of two other business plan competitions, I was incredibly impressed with the size, quality, and structure of RBPC. We made a lot of great connections at RBPC and received some hard-to-swallow but realistic advice about how to proceed with the business.”

In 2013 Jess was VP of marketing and sales for Medical Informatics Corp – a health care software company gathering real-time physiological data from hospital bedside monitoring devices that provides information to doctors and nurses on their mobile devices. “We had a lot of success in other business plan competitions, signed a customer and secured funding before RBPC. The 2013 Rice Business Plan Competition opened doors to investors and strategic partners for the future.”

RBPC BACKGROUND

I HAD BEEN AN ENTREPRENEUR-IN-TRAINING FOR MUCH OF MY LIFE WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT. MY MOTHER AND BROTHER STARTED THEIR OWN BUSINESSES AND MOST OF MY RELATIVES IN PENNSYLVANIA ARE FARMERS — THE HARDEST WORKING ENTREPRENEURS THAT I KNOW. I WAS EMPLOYEE NUMBER 70 OF THE 5-YEAR-OLD SOFTWARE COMPANY I JOINED OUT OF UNDERGRAD. WITH THE MARKETING AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASSES I TOOK AT THE JONES SCHOOL, I KNEW I HAD THE RIGHT INFORMATION TO MAKE THE LEAP AND JOIN MEDICAL INFORMATICS AS THE VP OF SALES AND MARKETING. THE RICE MBA PROGRAM CREATED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PUT TOGETHER THE TEAM, DEVELOP OUR VENTURE PITCH AND BUSINESS PLAN, AND RAISE OUR INITIAL FUNDING.

COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS THAT I USE EVERY DAY.

fter graduating from Duke, Evy went to Harvard to pursue a master’s in architecture. She practiced three years in

Boston and three years at Gensler in Houston before deciding an MBA would complement and enhance her architectural career. “The Rice MBA for Professionals program was the perfect match because it allowed me to continue working and developing the proficiencies required of architects while also pursuing the skills needed to succeed in business.”

A former high school field hockey and basketball player, Evy was a pro at being able to balance home life, work and school along with multiple activities while she was a student. She held membership in the Real Estate Club and was elected to the Jones Student Association. Today, the Registered Architect (AIA) and LEED Accredited Professional (LEED BD+C) serves on the Jones Graduate School Alumni Association board for 2013-2014.

Evy decided to go to work in the family business, Pappas Restaurants, after earning her MBA. Family is a big part of how the company culture defines itself, from its employees to its guests. As part of the Building Group, Evy’s able to combine her architectural skills and MBA expertise on projects ranging from renovation of existing buildings to the purchase, finance and construction of new restaurants and other real estate projects. And working with family? “We have a great synergy together.”

Pappas Restaurants is a family-owned and -operated company that passes core values down from generation to generation. The family philosophy hasn’t changed much — the drive still comes from a passion for excellence, a focus on innovation and attention to detail and quality in everything they do. The Pappas brothers opened their first restaurant in 1976 and now have over 80 locations in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Albuquerque, Cincinnati and Phoenix.

Houston is a vibrant, dynamic, diverse city full of opportunity. Rice students, faculty and staff can take advantage of all that the fourth-largest city in the U.S. has to offer — from attending premier performing arts events in the downtown theater district, eating at outstanding restaurants to cheering on the city’s professional sports teams. Best of all, many of these activities, including those in a bustling downtown and thriving Museum District, are easily accessible from the Rice campus. MBA students also tap into the assets, energy, ideas and technology of a thriving business community in Houston.

The 46 Places to Go in 2013, according to the New York Times travel section, lists Houston as No. 7. “Houston is probably best known as the Texan center for energy and industry, but it’s making a bid to be the state’s cultural and culinary capital as well. The Houston Museum District is a formidable coterie of institutions that includes the Rothko Chapel, the Museum of African American Culture, which made its debut last February; and the Asia Society Texas Center, which opened in a stunning Yoshio Taniguchi-designed building in April. And last summer, the Houston Museum of Natural Science opened a 30,000-square-foot hall of paleontology in a new $85 million wing. Meanwhile, the city’s dining scene is also heating up, with three of the city’s newest restaurants — Oxheart, Underbelly and Uchi — placing on national best-new-restaurant lists.” — Ingrid K.
