Jaylin has held the position of Peer Educator with the Start Strong Program through the Boston Public Health Commission, which aims to prevent teen dating violence and promote healthy relationships, since the program began in 2008. Since then, Jaylin has been working hard to engage his peers in conversations about healthy relationships, and for a senior in high school, that takes a lot of courage. He manages to connect with any age group, even the overly energetic 12 year old. Jaylin’s outreach has not stopped there, however. He has realized that as issues of the world and times change, so do the approaches taken to connect with youth. With his innovative ideas, Jaylin has taken on an additional role as the program's "Event Guru" and created a Fashion Show to further raise awareness on teen dating violence for an even wider audience. Jaylin's devotion to Start Strong can also be seen through the help he has given to the program's new campaign, "Engaging Men and Boys," as he has facilitated focus groups and aided in marketing efforts aimed at helping young men understand the intersection between gender and teen dating violence.
