Thrilled to have you with me!

I feel truly happy to tell you that this, I do not intend to be a book. Rather, it is like friends

chatting up, sharing whatever we can together to enhance the wellness space.

It is my humble belief that any person, in whatever state of consciousness and positioning, is in

some special ways, better than a wisdom-book, for the purpose of life & living learning. I must

tell you, I have learnt and more importantly, unlearnt, primarily from people. Books somehow

are people-material in text-format.

Almost everything, which has a utility at one stage of life, stands a good chance of qualifying for

futility later. For all thinking people, the larger conflict of life and living experiences is

unraveled and expressed in multi-dimensional cyclicality of utility and futility.

The inquisitive mind and its curious energy cannot leave a thinking person to rest in perpetuity of

peace as the world we live in is colossal and the questions of life and living conflicts and

conundrums are infinite. We shall see that this unsettling energy is a huge gift.

Most of us, who live in modern contemporary world of complexities, have questions as what a

good and righteous person should consider as „perpetual-utility‟ in life, amidst the general

feeling of futility of everything around. What is this singular life and living positioning, which

can make us live the life in a state of consciousness, endowed with true utilities, shunning away

all those futilities, which land us in pain and regret?

Hundreds of years back, spiritualism and philosophy offered us answers but in time, they have

lost trust with us somehow, as they seem to „misfit‟ with modern ideas. We shall talk about these

issues in the light of a „new thinking‟, which assimilates and integrates all wisdoms –

spiritualism, philosophy and science.

It is such a beautifully satisfying fact that core ideas of all wisdoms are similar, only varying in

their interpretative details. We shall also talk about this similarity here.

However, first, we have to come down to one common premise, which shall help us is the

fruition of the issue at hand – Being In Perpetuity Of Consciousness Positioning Of Utility In

Futility.

Page 5: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

There has to be a humble admittance – Any word, however well meant and well spelt, is a

possible suspect of „misrepresentation‟. There is a simple reason.

Do you remember when your flight is about to land, the pilot aborts the landing, jolting your

peace, just because something as insignificant as a „stray dog‟ happens to be on the runway?

You already know, how similar is the fate of human words, which we all accept as the best and

worthy carriers of human „intentions‟. This airplane of human words, carrying good and noble

intentions need to make a good, smooth and safe landing on the runway of another human‟s

mind and consciousness, which again is worthy and hugely able.

Still, the good intentioned words sometimes fail to land on the mind of others, as there is some

„insignificant‟, yet potentially fatal obstacle standing midway the runway!

It is believed, “If the hypothesis is right, the idea is accepted as right”. If two people have an

assimilative and integrative attitude, one can easily see that root trouble is in subjectivity of the

hypotheses. This helps in resolution of conflict of ideas.

Friendship is one positioning, where assimilation and integration about divergent hypotheses has

larger accommodative space. A seed is more objectively accommodative in space than a grown

up tree. Friendship is seed positioning.

That is why, at the very start, I very affectionately requested you to be my friend and accept this

all as one long conversation between friends. Kindly, accept this not as a book but a

„confabulation‟ between friends. This, I am confident, shall engender smoothness of navigation

and fruition of the entire exercise.

As a friend, I must tell you, I have put up a „price tag‟ on it to fund my charity endeavors. All

proceeds from this and other works of mine shall go to charity.

With all humility and sincerity at my behest, I wish to tell you, it needs to be said that there is

only one person on the earth, who can say that he has understood. Otherwise, this domain is

reserved for a metaphor called God. This is not available for humans.

It is also a heart-felt realization that our very worthy ancestors, who had the intelligence and

courage to face the worst, life made them to, so that we inherit a better beautiful world, have

Page 6: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

already said almost all good things. What I can do is present them in new set of words with

novelty of references.

The only justification of me telling them is that all goodness and wellness ideas and words need

to be repeated and retold, to add to their all-pervasiveness.

At the age of 46, I can say with innocence that getting old is such a beautiful and satisfying

experience. It makes the „self‟ accept the „utility and fruition‟ of holistic, assimilative and

integrative consciousness. Getting old has probably pushed „me‟ close to the „eligibility‟ of

perhaps beginning to understand as what essentially is there to be understood!

I chat up with you to share with you whatever is part of my consciousness. All wisdoms say,

human is designed to live in state of „flux‟, a state of instinctive semi consciousness. To jolt

oneself out of this, one must challenge itself; something humanity has done since millions of

years. What stays with you is what sinks in. Wisdom is what we internalize.

I share with you whatever I have internalized in my life.

Maya: The Confusion of Illusion

The higher consciousness of frictionless reception alone has the eligibility to accept that this is

sheer joy. For an average consciousness, instinctively inclined towards reactionary positioning, it

shall look like we are labeling the energy of confusion about life and living realism as joy.

No doubt, this energy of „confusion‟, as accepted in popular culture, is the undercurrent.

However, we are talking about the human inventiveness and asymmetrical artistry of „playful-

metaphorization‟ of this „confusion and chaos‟ into something „meaningfully and intuitively

enjoyable‟, in time-space situationality, which stands as the sheer joy.

Vishnu, the protector God in Hindu religious faith, says it in the most revered ancient book of

wisdom named Geeta, ‘sansaar chhanbhangur hai par mithya nahi hai’ (the world is ephemeral

but not unreal/untrue)‟. „Ye maya, naashwaan-nashwar sahi, magar, nirarthak aur niruddeshya

nahi (the life and living realisms are transient and mortal but not meaningless and purposeless)‟.

Page 7: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

This is somehow also what the supposedly most intelligent person ever in the history of

humanity, Udhishthir, the legendary wise man of Mahabharat epic, while answering to the

„yaksha-prashnas‟ (angel‟s questions) said. When the angel asked him, “kim ascharyam”( what

is the greatest wonder of the world), Udhishthir replied, „har pal, har oar, har vastu ke

naashwaan hone ke spasht saakhchhya hone ke bawzood, maya-sansaar ki nirarthakta sthaapit

nahi ho paati (every moment, everywhere, there are irrefutable proofs of everything being

mortal, still, the uselessness and purposelessness of life does not get established)‟.

How can it be, when God himself is „saying‟ that it is not useless! It can never be as never ever

one can expect and accept uselessness and purposelessness being created and orchestrated by

God. Anyways, how can one label the brilliant energy of billions of years of evolution as waste,

useless and untrue? Yes, ephemeral and mortal is everything.

Just see, how religion, philosophy and science, which have been positioned in the popular culture

as competing and mutually exclusive, are singular on the most important question of life – the

utility and purpose of life! It is not amazing; it is simply an innocent truth.

This is the greatest wonder as well as the greatest joy and satisfaction! The infinite and intrinsic

inventiveness and artistry of humanity, despite the mortality and transient situationalism of the

life and living realisms, is the wonder even God fails to understand and unravel. This has been

mentioned in the ancient Indian religious traditions.

How beautifully satisfying! The „joker‟ plays its „tricks‟ in the „circus of life‟ and everyone

laughs. Truth also claps along with the audience. Everyone is happy and thrilled! What is untrue

and useless, even when the show of the circus is ephemeral?

The joker of life‟s randomization throws up its rainbowish tricks and tantrums and, everyone is

happily part of the show‟s symmetry. Some may laugh, some may weep but all participate in this

randomization show.

This energy of inventiveness in response to the randomization of life‟s show can be anything but

not untrue and purposeless. Had it been, the life would have wrapped up the show millions of

years before. In ancient Indian traditions, this randomized and ephemeral life show has been

referred as „maya‟ and the energy of inventiveness of all living being, especially humans has

Page 8: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

been labeled as „leela‟. We shall talk about these two ideas in totality with a holistic, assimilative

and integrative perspective, using ideas from all wisdoms – old and new.

Scientists sum up the above ideas nicely. They say, “Any species sustains and survives because

of the energy of the intelligence of its inventiveness and it is this very intelligence, which leads

the species to its extinction and end”.

The logic is simple, though sounds unpleasantly inappropriate. The life realism is „mortal‟

because it is not „useless and purposeless‟. Had it been useless, there would not have been life.

Moreover, as it is not unreal and untrue, it shall be created and mitigated in a cyclic order of

infinity.

This realism is the exalted positioning that every human has to attain. This is the position of sat-

chit-anand (absolute existence, absolute consciousness and absolute bliss). This position is

symmetrical with the realization that if there is a God, the cosmic energy of creation; it is this

energy of inventiveness. Moreover, if there is a Devil or Destroyer, it is the same energy of

inventiveness. This is the non-dualistic consciousness of sat-chit-anand positioning amid the

conflict of dualism. All religions say, „god is in everything‟.

The big question now is; how to understand the energy of this maya structure? Where rests this

energy? It seems, this energy is that of inventiveness and its source is the human instinct. This

instinct has all the doors of inventiveness. It is important to understand the mechanism of this

instinct well.

However, before we begin to understand the mechanism of instinct, it has to be admitted that this

process of understanding is also subject to „human inventiveness and symmetrical artistry of

playful-metaphorization of confusion and chaos into something meaningfully and intuitively

enjoyable, in time-space situationality‟. This cyclic interplay of maya structures is mesmerizing.

In addition to the above conundrum, the fact remains that we are in a state of realism where there

is a huge debate about „instincts‟ and its role in human destinies. The psychologists and

sociologists now argue that humans are no more instinctive. The reason they extend is:

To be considered instinctual a behavior must:

Page 9: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

a) be automatic

b) be irresistible

c) occur at some point in development

d) be triggered by some event in the environment

e) occur in every member of the species

f) be unmodifiable

g) govern behavior for which the organism needs no training.

The absence of one or more of these criteria indicates that the behavior is not fully instinctual.

Under such watertight definition, nothing of human stands as „instinctive‟ in today‟s world of

info superways and info overdose.

The modern science, based on contemporary knowledge of brain and nerve mechanism however

believes, most of what humans do or can do is „instinctive‟ and even learned or experienced

behavior can only be present when brain accepts and converts it into „instinctive‟ behavior. Even

if something is considered as conscious behavior, it always has larger influences and shades of

instinctive behavior.

A secondary point is the huge confusion among people about the word and idea of „instinct‟. The

confusion is that the term instinct has entered into the popular language expressions as widely

used metaphor to describe it either as „gut feeling‟ or „intuition‟.

The semantic conflation is not only this much. Many people believe, gut feeling or intuitive

emotions are either their heart „speaking to them (instead of mind)‟ or it is the „voice of the soul‟.

Most believe, the soul and heart voice cannot go wrong, as they are voice of humanity‟s

instinctive goodness that God has created and endowed all humans with.

Science does not accept it, as it now has the knowledge of brain functioning and the operative

mechanism of neurotic plexus of human body. Unlike religious ideas, science says, human mind

is value-neutral and almost like a computer with factory-loaded operative system but most of

what constitutes human behavior in societal system is learned behavior, which in time becomes

part and parcel of his or her instinct.

Page 10: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Remember, even a software we load externally in a computer, shall be finally run by the

mechanism of the internal operating system (OS). The operative mechanism is always our

instincts, the external programming of ambient culture, which we often accept as our

intelligence, needs to work its way only through the instinctive operations.

That is why; the gut feeling and intuitiveness are so much conditioned by popular cultural

influences that it is impossible for a human to make a distinction between his or her „instinctive‟

behavior and „conditioned‟ behavior. This nature and nurture divide is a huge issue.

You think, all this is so confusing and chaotic! Yes, it is but this is the joy of it; the cyclic

situationalism is the joy. The instincts condition the environment and cultures, which in turn

conditions instincts and this goes on. Nature shaped the components of nurture; nurture then

started shaping the nature and so on. What we are today is such a mega conflation of millions of

years of „nature-nurture-nature‟ dialectical evolution that it is impossible to segregate the two.

We need to accept that we have become a complex living conundrum.

That is why, when we now ask ourselves, „who am I‟, we cannot be sure the answerer is

speaking from his or her nature or nurture. The inventiveness and symmetrical artistry of playful-

metaphorization is at its best. All answers are true but no answer is objective and, now, another

answer to yakshha prashn of ‘kim ascharyam’ is added.

The answer is, “Every moment, everywhere, everything seems to herald the supremacy of me

and self. Everyone says he or she knows himself or herself and his or her priorities. Still, in

reality, nobody knows exactly who and what truly is this me and self.”

In such a scenario, the entire spiritualism lands in the realm of confusion and conflict. The

„design of God and His „expectation‟ for and from humanity itself becomes a huge conundrum.

Religion, spiritualism and philosophy work on the premise of the „self‟ being an objective

realism, with born capability of a general will and in instinctive possession of universal

goodness. However, this hypothesis seems the primary source of confusion and conflict.

Krishna, the incarnation of Vishnu says in Geeta, “the ultimate karma for a human is to become

nisprih”. The meaning of this word „nisprih‟ in contemporary world is almost impossible. In

Geeta, there is a powerful metaphor of akaam karma.

Page 11: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

There is a suggestion of a consciousness, which is unattached with instinctive self. That is why;

even when someone does an act or behavior, the energy of it should never come from its purpose

and end result. Instinctive reaction is considered to be energized by the purpose and fruition of

end results. Nisprih consciousness keeps it unattached to the fruition energy.

This is hugely confusing, tough to understand. The suggestion is; everything needs to be done

but nothing needs to be done for doing it! Everything needs to be done, which is positioned there

to be done yet, in doing it, there must never be the notion of „me‟ or „self‟ involved with it. Even

when, we look like involved in doing everything, there must never be the feeling and attachment

of „me‟ or „self‟ in it.

This is mega confusing. The prescription is, “the beingness, the instinctive-me, the intuitive-self,

everything shall be there when something is being done yet, there must never be an „attachment‟

with it.”

This is a big challenge to keep one‟s being unattached with the instinct. The trouble is, to do so;

one has to be completely sure what this „instinct‟ is? What part of it is the share of „nurture‟ and

what part is purely nature. This gut feeling or soul voice must first be purged of adulteration of

„socialization‟ and cultural benchmarks, then only one can be sure of the authenticity of it.

The big question is; is it possible to purge the soul voice of such adulterations? Is it possible to

segregate the nature-nurture divide? Is the amount of objectivity, which is required for such

action possible? Is it possible!

Now, we seem to have the real „yakshya prashn’ of „kim ascharyam‟. The biggest wonder of this

mortal world seems to be, “The truth is neither finite nor established and static, still, every

human believes, what he or she understands is the truth and what he or she chooses is the finite-

static-established positioning of truth. In addition, there is this infinite and acute desire, urge and

endeavor to make this truth prevail and perpetuate on everyone and everywhere is his or her

primary duty”. Why and how?

The larger point, which needs to be understood is; if „nisprih‟ means being unattached, then this

unattachment should be not only from the instinctive „me‟ and its actions but from the truths of

Page 12: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

the subjective soul voices too. How can one be „nisprih‟ if this unattachment is partial and

incomplete?

To be „nisprih‟ is a big attainment. Being „nisprih‟ means rising above the maya structures. This

means rising above the “human inventiveness and symmetrical artistry of playful-

metaphorization of confusion and chaos into something meaningfully and intuitively enjoyable,

in time-space situationality.”

It is a huge challenge to rise up to this level of objectivity. Science says, objectivity is not

possible for humans. In fact, it is not possible even for machines. No machine can work on

hundred-percent efficiency. In fact, religion too says it is impossible for humans to attain

hundred-percent objectivity.

Most human minds have been trained to accept that only one thing has been stationed in the

cosmos as completely objective. That is God. That is why; every human has this ultimate

benchmark of attaining godliness. Like, it is every machine‟s pursuit to attain cent-percent

efficiency. However, this does not seem possible ever.

If divinity is attainable, then it cannot be the final destination. If godliness is attainable then

where is the utility of the benchmark of divinity? Godliness is something, which is beyond the

limits of attainment of humanity.

In religion, objectivity has such a difficult positioning that it is even beyond perception of

average humans, let alone it being achievable! Geeta elaborates the desirability of karma in the

following way: „Life is ephemeral but not unreal; one needs to be unattached but not detached;

being „nisprih‟ looks like being recluse but it is not the same; doing without sense of doing is

true action; the action and behavior, which is purged of instinctiveness are true action and

behavior; all actions should be like offerings in a yagna (holy fire); only that action and

behavior, which stands at the assimilative point of tangible and intangible is pure, etc.

All this looks like a complex portrayal of confusion and conflict. It has been hinted in Geeta: „to

be human is to stand at either end of the two extremes of this conflict (dualism). It is only God

who stands in the middle of the two extremes and still, ubiquitous in both the extreme ends (non-

Page 13: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

dualism). This is some exclusive positioning, which is reserved only for God, unavailable and

untenable for humans.

Science attempts to present an easy and understandable definition of this cosmic conundrum and

conflict. It says, „objectivity is not possible for humanity as the very presence of body melts the

objectivity. The objective realism and truth changes the very moment it is observed. It is only

natural that there shall be difference in „observer-dependent‟ and „observer-independent‟

realisms. This is the stated position of quantum physics.

Forget and forego the debate and conundrum. Just accept that this cosmic energy of conflict and

confusion is not a burden, rather a huge source of perpetuity of joy for all of us. As it has been

said, “human inventiveness and symmetrical artistry of playful-metaphorization of this confusion

and chaos into something meaningfully and intuitively enjoyable, in time-space situationality is

sheer joy”.

An average human does not need to delve deep into these issues. Just be innocently humble to

accept the under-mentioned „four pillars‟ as essential for the beautiful palace of workable

objectivity.

Being „nisprih‟ as enunciated by religion is a long tough process. To ensure that the life becomes

a long unending process of joy-journey towards attaining „nisprihta‟, one just needs to ensure,

first, he or she would never discriminate against anyone. Second, shall make tolerance towards

all as his or her primary virtue and never ever allow aggression towards anyone. Shall keep away

from greed and self-gratification instincts and four, life-long make such endeavors that would

keep him or her on the unending journey to mitigate ignorance.

That is why; Geeta says, „all actions must be like offerings at a prayer‟, which ensures that all

actions must be aimed at collective wellness and never towards singular self-gratification. Never

ever be narcissistic about what you know. Knowledge is an infinite journey. Journeying is joy,

not arriving. The moment you feel you have arrived, narcissism kills your wisdom.

Human inventiveness and symmetrical artistry of playful-metaphorization of this confusion and

chaos into something meaningfully and intuitively enjoyable, in time-space situationality is sheer

Page 14: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

joy. This has to be understood and accepted and then has to keep performing the four virtues

stated above. This is the sat-chit-anand position available for humanity.

This is the form of divinity available for humans. This is the preferred journey. The sat-chit-

anand position empowers humanity to unravel and understand maya and enjoy its dance and

song. As this happens, then, the individual becomes the theatre, performer, audience and the play

all at one time. Then, the truth stands there to applause.

**

Maya Smiles As Self’s Leela Enthralls

Confusion and conflict is something built-in mechanism of our „self‟. Many of us have this

fleeting realization that our persona is a big mystery. The mechanism of brain does these

mystical things for us.

Modern science says, “We don‟t see things as they are; we see them as we are”. In other words,

you do not see what is there to be seen but what you think must be there to be seen. Similarly,

what we say is not what is meant to be said but what we mean it to be said.

This is what popular human definition is about „conflict and confusion‟. However, it is one huge

facility of mind, which very few of us see, accept and appreciate as something truly wondrous

and desirable. Those few, who understand this all, what they do, has been referred to as „leela‟

(unattached role-plays).

Spirituality, philosophy and science are one in their core and cardinal positioning. They all

accept the two entities of „maya‟ and „leela‟, they name and term them differently, which usually

creates the semantic conflation about the meaning, nature and scope of the two. However, it is

easy to pick up commonality of strands between the three popular domains and their

interpretations. We shall talk about it later.

The key question is, what we should understand first – the conflict and pain of „maya‟ or the

very concept of conflict and pain? The cosmic realism and even the microcosmic subjective

worldview an individual has are too vast and complex for acceptance and assimilation in our

Page 15: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

ever-evolving mind. There is however, a simple yet fundamental idea that can be accepted as the

ultimate metaphor for easy understanding. What it is?

Without going into the never-ending debate and conflict of how and why this cosmic realism was

created, we all can accept that what it is; is common for all. Even if we accept that God created

the universe or it came into being accidentally; the reality of the existing universe, as it evolved

and as it stands today remains the same. The dualism about past is in no way going to change the

singular situationalism of the present.

Therefore, the issue at hand is to talk about and assimilate what stands as realism for all as of

now. This can be summed up in the following simple metaphor – “what is cosmic realism is a

randomized and ever-evolving notion or entity and what all human endeavors are aimed at is to

pick up a pattern of the randomization and make it a cultural value-summation”.

This is where the conflict and pain seems to be born. The objective situation seems to be that we

all are in the time and space linearity, which is highly randomized and every passing moment

adds to the entropy (degree of randomization) of this realism. On the other hand, within this

randomized realism, there always is a pattern, which finally energizes the evolution mechanism.

Humans have survived and succeeded only because it has been able to arrive at some pattern and

live it as cultural system.

Accepting the macrocosmic objective realism as a randomized energy is the acceptance of

„maya‟ in its honest best form. This „maya‟ is the cultural manifestation of the conflict and pain

that a randomization energy is intrinsically loaded with and within the ambit of this randomized

energy, all creatures have to live. This is understanding „maya‟ in the honest objective form.

Then comes the role of subjectivity. This subjectivity needs to be conditioned by the objective

assimilation of the realisms of „maya‟. Then only it creates the „sat-chit-anand‟ situationalism.

This subjectivity engenders the myriad colors, aromas, song and dance of an exalted „self‟,

which is referred to as „leela‟.

This „leela‟ is the manifestation of „Nisprih Karma‟ (unattached role performance), emanating

out of the absolute „awastha, auchitya and vyawastha‟ (situation, rationality and mechanism) in

which the „self‟ engenders the „leela‟. Read the trio as „consciousness-cognition-causality‟. The

Page 16: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

„karta‟ (subject) is not the „leela-performer‟ or the action-doer. Rather, it is just the object of the

reception of all „karma‟ (actions).

We need to talk about this „subject‟ and „object‟ divide. It shall help us in understanding the true

„leela‟ positioning of the „consciousness‟.

There is a dualism of what or who is a subject and who an object in an action of life. We may

also say, there are subjective and objective consciousnesses. We need to understand this through

a metaphor, which has brilliant reference in religion-spiritualism. Science also accepts it as the

prescribed way. There is a metaphor of a bee flying and after seeing a flower landing on it and

then sucking the nectar of the flower. This metaphor is a popular love symbolism.

In subjective consciousness, the lover would see himself as the bee and the flower as his love

attraction. The act of nectar sucking is the process of love. The raw objectivity of a newborn

would also liken it with bee and sucking as love. However, in this objectivity, the subject, that is

bee, has different level of innocence and conscious involvement. In a newborn‟s love, the prime

thing is sucking and the bee, the subject is insignificant as the level of consciousness is missing.

In a youth‟s love, the bee, the subject is of prime importance and focus as the evolved and

cultured mind has a subjective and egoistic consciousness, which is un-evolved in a newborn.

The pure and exalted objectivity sees it completely differently and has the edge. It sees bees and

flower both as insignificant. It does not even consider them as subject. It considers the fragrance

and sweetness of nectar and the intrinsically symbiotic process involved between bee and flower

attracting them towards each other as the real subjects. They truly are the subject as they are

energizing the mechanism and both bee and flower are just non-egoistic and non-dualistic

objects involved in this beautiful process called love, which satisfies both bee and flower needs.

Love is like the above metaphor. The bee and flower both are driven and guided by their basic

instincts for which they are wired. The objective consciousness is coded in their being. The bee

needs flower for survival as it provides him with vital nectar. The flower equally needs the bee as

the bee makes the process of pollination complete. Both love each other and the love intrinsically

happens, it is spontaneous and innate.

Page 17: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

The humans have similarity only till here. They differ after that. The man loves the woman and

woman loves the man. It is coded in their instinctive and raw objective consciousness but when

love happens in grownups, it usually happens in subjective and dualistic consciousness where the

cultured mind and subjective being of lover and beloved become far more primary and focus

shifts from love to the dualisms of the consciousnesses of the two subjects involved. As it

happens, then, love is either not existing or love becomes just the façade for the instinctive act of

hardcore animalistic survival needs.

For true and exalted love to happen, it must follow the route of a non-dualistic and pure objective

consciousness. In such a state of consciousness, both lover and beloved shed and dissolve their

dualistic and cultured mind and finally accept themselves just as unnecessary burden of being

objects of love. And then, the real subject of love, the fragrance, rainbow, song, dance,

everything falls in the linearity of a symmetrical and symbiotic sub-consciousness where

cultured consciousnesses of egoistic selves of the two „objects‟ of love dissolve into one singular

and objective higher consciousness.

All wisdoms, in their core awareness assign the „subject‟ positioning not to the individual self,

but all those elements in our instincts, culture, milieus and their dynamic interplay, which always

remain randomized. Some call it as „intangible-affectors‟ and insist that these elements, which

are decisive factors of our emotions, are the real „subjects‟. Individual consciousness remains the

object of all actions as these emotions are decisive in the decision-making process of the mind

consciousness.

The „maya‟ is inevitable and we all need to understand and accept that all the „leelas‟ of „maya‟

and also that of „self‟, may not bring in joys only. However, every shade of the „leela‟ would for

sure make the „self‟ experience and experiment with something novel and sublime. This is the

objectivity of the subjectivity of the cosmic realism and the super-positioned situationalism of

the „self‟ that is pure magic and „sat-chit-anand‟ positioning.

Being in control and expecting joy is not life‟s worth. It is just in understanding the randomized

energy of „maya‟ and then accepting the „sat-chit-anand‟ patterning of the „leela‟. Let the

objectivity of the energies condition the situationalisms of the subjective „self‟ and then „play‟

Page 18: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

with it. The song and dance shall follow on the platform which lengths between the two extremes

of objectivity and subjectivity. Let „sat-chit-anand‟ prevail and consume every realism.

Au Fait With Probabilistic Superposition

What we have talked about is what spiritualism offers as an interpretation of „maya‟ and „leela‟.

As we talked earlier, philosophy and science also speaks of the same core idea. We shall now

talk of the two ideas in the domains of philosophy and science and see the similarity.

Philosophy says, “Actualizing what you know was there is a tad boring. What is exciting dwells

on the fine-line that what you accepted as right may well turn out to be wrong, at the last drop of

the hat. It is thrilling to internalize what the wise say, “Questions till not answered are better than

sure answers, as they keep unleashing the precious energy of creating layers of probabilistic

values and eventualities”.

Answers do seem to stop the journey powered by insatiable, quintessential and infinite

inquisitiveness of human mind. Journeys, they say, must go on, even though some destinations

you reach might sound like worth staying a lifetime! Uncertainties of probabilistic benchmarks

of unending inquisitiveness are evolutionary call. Can we stop evolving… can we…!

The positioning of eventualities here is what spiritualism referred as „maya‟. The state of

consciousness matches with that of the mental position of „leela‟.

Science on the other hand opens up more probabilities than other streams of human knowledge

as somehow, science has hit the criticality stage of knowledge-threshold, which ensures; more

questions come to the fore for humanity.

The discoveries of science may not yet be acceptable as popular answers. As the „sure‟ answers

may be deemed as still few decades away; or may never come; this situational probablism looks

like ideal for fruition of scientific philosophies, often a complementary component of science,

especially physics.

Pure science and philosophy, as we know, have same primary source in the form of human

imagination, often beyond cognitive and tactile realms of sensory perceptions and consciousness.

Page 19: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Both have an uneasy symbiotic relationship. Both even do not fail to say extreme things about

each other‟s utility and form.

Somehow, both science as well as philosophy indulge in propositions and claim fruition and

finality on things which are more than often matters beyond empirical evidence, logical validity,

inductive warrant, corroboration, falsification, hypothesis-testing, causal reasoning, probability-

weighting, and so forth.

This however does not mean such matters and their propagation are not relevant for humanity.

This rather is the joy of the symbiosis of the two – philosophy often feeds scientific quests and

scientific quests often are subject-line of philosophizing.

The famous philosopher Kant said it very right, “Philosophy of science without scientific input is

empty, while science without philosophical guidance is blind”.

Accepting this helps a lot in accepting and understanding many of today‟s scientific propositions

as much of them, including the very popular and contemporary Quantum mechanics, as they

border hypothesis beyond empirical evidence, causal reasoning and physical corroboration. This

much stated, we have interesting interpretations and causal philosophizing based on what

quantum realism maintains of physical state of the cosmic probablism.

Quantum mechanics says, „objective reality does not exist, that instead, all we see are

probabilities collapsing into one particular configuration and all other possible realities might

just exist together in a quantum multiverse (more than one universe)‟.

As per quantum realism, „atoms can be made to experimentally display both a wave and particle

duality‟. So we have a universe where a particle (smaller than atom specks that form atoms) is

not a particle until observed. A particle is both in wave as well as particle states. However, the

moment an observer sees it or just happens, the wave collapses into particle.

In addition, we can either know exactly where or exactly when a particle is, but not both.

Without wave function collapse (observer-independent), all probabilistic values for every

subatomic particle would exist in superposition (existing simultaneously in all probable states in

different multiverse).

Page 20: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Apart from what quantum says of multiverse superposition, Stephen Hawking‟s „M-theory‟ is

there, having to do with the multiple dimensions – eleven at the latest count – that are taken to

constitute the ultimate reality beyond appearances despite our sensory perception being limited

to the three-plus-one of our familiar spatial-temporal world.

This suggests; realism may still be intact in one of the eleven dimensions even if it is no more in

one of them. Alternatively, the realism of one dimension may move onto another dimension

when faced with an end or decay, which is beyond human appearance.

Given such probabilistic values and hypothetically possible realisms of states of matter in this

new idea of multiverse, we can well summarize that we have three different states or spaces of

probabilistic realisms:

A. Observed and tactile (we and things around us): This is apparently the space we

live in and can know, accept and understand as almost everything here is observed by

our consciousness and most things are tangible enough for our sensuous feel and

feelings. This space is where all our questions arise but answers extend to other two

spaces also. This space is highly subjective as quantum realism says, „things change

the moment observer comes in‟. Consciousness makes it very subjective and answers

might be in objectivity, which we cannot see; being conscious.

B. Observed but not tactile (outer space): The next space is the outer world where our

solar systems, stars, galaxies and other planets exist. We know, we are observing

them now even though much of it is not tangible or tactile for most of us. Even for

scientists, who can observe, tangibility is still elusive. Therefore, we have some

information but not conclusive one, as we have of our first world; almost.

C. Unobserved and not tactile: The universe is too huge for our imagination. Two ends

of the universe we live in are estimated to be 42 billion light years apart. We know

only less than one percent of it. Therefore, this third world is intangible and not even

observable for us. Include in it, those multiverses which quantum and 11-dimensions

theory speaks of. Everything is beyond consciousness and empirical evidences. This

opens up the floodgates for both philosophizing and scientific speculative-hypothesis-

building.

Page 21: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

The three worlds have varying realisms and all probabilistic values may be in superposition. For

example, I am walking and a car moves past me, disappearing after a while. This „present‟

moment ended for me in the first world, as it was for me an observer-dependent realism.

However, the car did not end. It has a series of „presents‟ in separate multiverses or dimensions

that I am not seeing or able to observe.

It continued its journey ahead. This journey may have different probabilistic values – the car

having met with an accident, or stayed some distance away, or sped up or slowed down, etc. All

these probabilities exist in superposition until I know that what actually happened to the car few

hours after it was past me. So being independent of an observer, all probabilities exist together

and all are true.

Now, important question is, observer perspective changes a part of realism, which is first world‟s

realism. The remaining worlds‟ realisms remain what they are, independent of observer realisms.

This subjectivity is a major obstacle for actualizing the objective state of realism, which is

compatible with not only a partial and restrictive first world observer-dependent view but with

the entire three worlds, irrespective of what our conscious state of observance makes an

allowance for.

Therefore, what at best we can do is make serious and sincere attempts to improve upon the

subjectivity of observer-dependence for extraction or actualization of objective realism. True, as

per quantum realism, nothing can be truly objective as the very observer angle makes it highly

subjective. This is also what religion-spiritualism tells us. Still, larger and better objectivizing of

subjectivity is possible. The „leela‟ is the preferred position in the overall probablism of „maya‟.

It can be done by unlearning of the subjective mind out of the linearity of time-space

understanding. The spiritualists say, “We cannot be God, but we need to be in the light of Him”.

That is, we cannot be ultimately objective, but we have to be closer and closer to it. The journey

of subjective consciousness towards objective one is the cherished goal of humanity‟s march

from dualism to non-dualism.

We all shall have huge trouble in coming out of this time-space linearity as for millions of years,

we have evolved to see time and space in linear dimension. We see the time as something of a

linear nature where time either gets past us, we being on the move or moves ahead us, we being

Page 22: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

where we are. Just for a moment, consider time as something around us muffling us as ambient

air. It would then look that time is just another dimension surrounding us and even in concentric

juxtaposition.

Doing this can be said to be a better option as:

A. We have only one thing in our hand and that is improving the observer perspective to far

more objectivity. We cannot change the design of otherwise wave function of the

multiverse realism. We cannot even change what is within observer limit and tangible in

our first world. Therefore, changing our subjective consciousness to higher levels of

objectivity is only thing we can probably do.

B. Usually, in all our observer perspectives, „more‟ - both quantitatively and qualitatively, is

the benchmark for goodness and desirability for humanity. More wealth, more love, more

peace, etc. More is what we all accept as general goodness and wellness benchmark. So,

objectivizing the restrictive and partial subjectivity of the worldview more and more,

should also be accepted as good and enhancer of wellness.

How this objectivizing process starts? Definitely, by accepting the core idea of science as well as

spiritualism and philosophy. The multidimensionality and multiversality of probabilistic values

and realisms that surround us are there, irrespective of our observer-dependent subjectivity of

accepting only those, which our individual conscious-observer being accepts. Being open to this

realism helps a lot. This innocence to accept relativity is divinity demystified.

Saunters Of Systemic Shoves

Science helps us better in understanding the core ideas of „maya‟ and „leela‟by offering many

dimensions of the same idea. The neo-science has offered an edge in understanding that, which

we talked about earlier. Even the classical science has a dimension to add to the understanding of

the core notion of maya‟ and „leela‟, which we shall talk now.

There is a law in physics relating to thermodynamics. From this law emerges the idea of Entropy.

The stated position is a law of physics, which says, “In a universe condemned to inexorably

Page 23: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

increasing entropy, humanity values extropy (the inverse of entropy)”. We have already talked

about the utility in finding replicable patterns in the randomizations of life and living.

This opens up a box of great potential of troubles as well as solutions. The nature or space

around us, as the entropy rule says, is full of ever enhancing degrees of disorders. Then, the

human intelligence and utility is in finding „order‟ in all things that come to him in increasing

„disorder‟.

This itself results in something that unleashes a series of trouble for humanity. Someone said,

“We are drowning in information, while still thirsty for wisdom”. One of the attributes that

makes us human is that we try to make sense (order) of things that do not make sense. We often

assign order where there may be none. These traits occasionally can lead us to form conclusions

that do not correspond to reality and fall in the realms of entropic faith, mysticism and

skepticism.

Such is the mechanism of our mind consciousness. Part of it may be the cultural mind. More

often, for rationalists and thinking minds, these result in great amount of frustration and rejection

of the system. Not to talk of occasional dissipation.

As autonomous living intellects, every human need to understand and accept the entropy of

nature and limitations of human intelligence for extropy. The term entropy is very important and

must be very clearly understood.

It is a universal assertion based on laws of physics that nature tends to take things from „order to

disorder‟. The human intelligence is in reversing this. This is a part of our common experience.

Spend hours arranging your desk and cupboard and it seems to revert to disorder spontaneously.

We have practical experiences of how one human utility leads to a series of futility, even mis-

utilities. Humanity has created many „orders‟ and it would soon open up doors for many

disorders. It seems like an in-built mechanism.

Now, in the above contexts, understanding entropy should be easy. Entropy is a measure of

disorder and improbabilities, and the scientific fact is that nature tends toward maximum entropy

for any isolated system.

Page 24: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

The mechanism of entropy and extropy is no „miracle‟; it is a science. The universe, the nature

system, as said earlier, is increasing entropy. In simple words, there is so much

multidimensionality, randomization, probabilistic potentials and measure of disorder in nature

system and universe. For a common human, if he or she is not trained in the scientific approach

towards things, every second thing he or she sees and feels would look like a miracle, muffled

with mysticism. The vastness of this entropy of our universe (or the nature around) can make

anyone feel perplexed. Mysticism and skepticism creeps in naturally. So does frustration and

depravity.

We need to understand it. Get water in a glass and in a similar glass, fill it up with large chunk of

ice. The second glass would probably get filled up in five chunks of ice. Now, pour down both

the glasses from a certain height. The water would be spread in larger area than ice. Repeat the

act and you will find that there may be some discernable pattern in the way the ice chunks are

arranged naturally as there are only five chunks.

The water would however, probably never follow a repeat pattern. Water has higher entropy than

ice chunks. The nature, universe is also like water. It has very high entropy and incessantly

increasing at it.

An unscientific mind would be very much lured to see miracles, mysticism, skepticism, God of

gaps and fear in this entropy of the nature. However, human intelligence is all about

understanding the mechanism and dynamics of this entropy and at the same time value the need

and utility of extropy for larger wellness of humanity.

Human intelligence is in creating and valuing order and singularity within this colossal

framework of disorder and multiplicity of the universe. Moreover, while doing this, still accept

the interplay of entropic multidimensionality of limitations.

There is a lot for all humans to understand objectively about this cosmic entropy and learn from

the huge information base of “modern human knowledge”. It is humble call for all people to

accept with open mind that to truly understand humanity and its seemingly entropic troubles, he

or she needs to understand and accept the 21st century knowledge about the universe we all live

in.

Page 25: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Apply quantum and relativity principles and you would see how one‟s order is another‟s disorder

and vice-versa and how ordering in one dimension would instantaneously lead to disordering in

other. At times, harder one tries to install extropy, more far reaching becomes the entropy, etc.

It seems a trouble but needs to be accepted as the joy of living. It is this entropy, which opens up

novel and mystically mesmerizing gates of multidimensional probabilistic experiences for us.

Life is not about joys and easy gains only; it is also about experiencing and experimenting with

myriads of randomized realisms, which border between causality and a-causality et al.

Do accept it with open heart that we all live in a world, which has come a long way since its

start, around 14 billion years ago and even lives around has been since 680 million years. Our

own civilization is not a very new one. Naturally, the contemporary times would be a space with

high and increasing entropy.

Of course, with human interventions and control of environment around us, we have been

successful in creating order in many areas but as the realisms stand in entropic mechanisms, a lot

more disorder creeps in to the system as we create more order.

A rational mind would never get frustrated and would in no situation resort to dissipation in

retaliation and reaction of the entropic chaos and confusion. Every day, the media would cry foul

and make ominous sounds to lead you to believe that we are amidst hell and system is collapsing,

etc. Do listen to them but not wildly believe them. We need to judge things around us from the

perspective of the core principles, which guide our universe, our systems and we all.

Entropy is something, which we can consider as starting with us and we alone can handle it well.

Entropy is systemic and extropy is what we all have to deal with throughout our lives. We must

learn to enjoy it rather than hate it.

You hate it and entropy grows, entropy absorbs and thrives with your negative energy. It is

within you so make entropy your dear friend and keep it in good humor. Life shall smile and you

would feel; this friend actually makes you stand in good stead in your life and living choices.

Page 26: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

This modern scientific interpretation helps us understanding „maya‟, the randomizations of life

and living and the desirable „leela‟ positioning of the individual consciousness to enjoy the

mechanisms of „maya‟.

**

The Immortality of Causal Me

One big question, in the cosmic realm of „maya‟ structures is that of „self‟ and its mortality. Life

after has always been a more potent enquiry than life itself. Of course, the „leela‟ positioning of

„self‟ and its seemingly transcendental positioning cannot be complete without a talk on the

mortality or immortality of the consciousness of the „self‟.

As we have talked already and shall later dwell in details as how all wisdoms – spiritualism,

philosophy and science, have beautiful similarity in their core ideas. This calls for all of us to

have a holistic, assimilative and integrative perspective towards all wisdoms. We shall also talk

of the question of the „immortality of self‟ in this assimilative light.

Causality makes us see colors and „how‟. Why not also ask „why‟? Then why not add the

ubiquitous „what for‟? This inquisitive mind opens all possible doors of enquiry!

Somehow, looks like, it is the way we are „wired‟ in our existential framework. We are

programmed for „causality-itch‟; seeing and accepting things and even non-things in

„relationship‟ with something makes us far more comfortable in understanding and accepting

anything.

“If „This‟ is, then „That‟ is”, it makes easy acceptance. Otherwise, independent „This or That‟ is

too vaguely infinite to know; perhaps boring too!

We shall try here to test this “causality-factor”. However, let us first keep the wired-mind or

cultural-consciousness away from the comfort of the linearity of space-dimensionality and enter

the world of time-dimensionality. Just be open, generous and non-judgmental too for a while. Let

the idea of „selective-causality of immortal-me‟ sink in.

Page 27: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

There may well be two possible ways to explain the immortality of self, of course with two

different hypotheses of „causality‟ that somehow emerge from what we all know of quantum

realism in multiverse superposition (simultaneous existence in many dimensions).

„Self‟ or me-consciousness is a realism in different superpositioned multiverse. That can be from

infinite aspects, if quantum realism of wave-particle dualism is accepted. We have been designed

for basic survival needs and that is why we are wired to see realisms mostly in three-dimensional

world of tangibility.

However, we all know, humanity knows of fourth dimension of time, apart from usual space

dimensions. Then, we talk of eleven dimensions in more than one universe around us, well there

on the threshold of probabilistic situationalism. Therefore, ideating about multi-dimensionality of

probabilistic situationalism is tough but not impossible. Just try it.

Think about it? Let us start. The „self‟ that was there when my grandparent died. Had he been

alive and what this „self‟ would have been in his mind is still there but in a dimension that is

beyond spatial-tactile perception. Similarly, the „self‟ that shall be when my grandchild shall be

born and know me, though may not be present now but what it would be like if he/she were here,

is another dimension also beyond spatial-tactile perception.

All this looks a tough imagination for us. We have the habit of accepting dimensions only in

tactile space-dimensions. What we are attempting to imagine is not in this dimension but in time-

dimension, which we have the habit of seeing and accepting in linearity.

Let us not consider time as one straight line. We see ourselves standing somewhere on the line,

one end of it being our „past‟ and another end as our „future‟. Where we stand is our present.

Consider time, for a change as something like atmosphere, muffling your being all around.

Dimensions then become completely new idea. All time situations – present, past and future

become mind entities around us, very much within our reach but we shall have to push our

consciousness in those dimensions. Tough it is, yes!

There are many such possible dimensions, which are in the cosmic realms of probabilistic

situationalisms. In all such dimensions, the „self‟ exists, either in wave function or in particle

Page 28: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

function but never both, as quantum realism‟s uncertainty principle tells us, “We can either know

exactly „where‟ or exactly „when‟ a particle is but not both.

Only its position or movement can be defined at one time, never both”. Break this down to the

quantum level and we discover that things are very much different. We can imply where and

know when, or vice-versa, but not both at a given moment.

As we have talked earlier, knowing and accepting this with the help of our „wired-brain‟ is a

huge obstacle as we have been poorly trained to accept only space-three-dimensionality of

existence. We have the mechanism to understand and accept „position‟ but not „superposition‟.

This is because we are used to see and accept „consciousnesses‟ in some „causality‟ of our

restrictive space and time dimensions.

This superpositioning can be of two different propositions:

A. First situation is if the superpositioned „self‟ is accepted to exist in concentric circles

of different dimensions. Then there can be a common zone of concentricity where a

„self‟ exists independent of observer mortality. Therefore, even if this „self‟ decays in

any one dimension, it still exists in so many other dimensions.

B. Secondly, this superpositioning may exist in independent and not entangled

multiverse like bubbles. Therefore, the singular „self‟ is never ever there in actuality.

So, when there is nothing ever, how can it ever decay?

In both eventualities, „self‟ is ideationally immortal. Either the „self‟ exists in one form and

dimension or other, or, „self‟ does not ever exist in singular actuality. In any case, this „self‟ is

immortal! If not in practical bodily sense of the term then at least metaphorically. This is a huge

plus for symbolic strength and wellness.

One may say, „oh hell! What a stinking bullshit! Bonkers! We can say, all such realisms divorced

from the tangibility and empirical existentialism are bonkers!

Well, accepted; where is the problem in it. However, wait a bit; where is the problem in not

accepting it? A causality may not always exist in the space-dimensions only. After all, Einstein‟s

theory of relativity, quantum mechanics, Hawking‟s M-theory, etc operate on a causality which

Page 29: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

is beyond tactile-causality! In philosophy and spiritualism too, we accept many such realisms as

practically possible and true, which have no tangible-causality.

Let us bring back here the questions we started with, “Causality makes you see colors, how-why-

what for”. Now ask, what is the color of life? It is in the rainbow of probabilistic situationalisms

of the infinite inquisitiveness and the optionality of multi-dimensionalities of probabilistic

answers! If we feel, we know the answers; we kill our „self‟, for good. The „self‟ must live and

be immortal in the „colors of causality‟ and its probabilistic multiverse.

Let the „self‟ be immortal. We cannot be immortal in this three-dimensional world of tactile-

causality but surely can be in the multiverse of time-dimension and other many probabilistic

dimensionalities. Don't you love being immortal!

Singularity Of Purpose In All Wisdoms

Unraveling „maya‟ structures to land in the perpetuity of a joyous consciousness of „leela‟,

becomes so much easy when we have a holistic, assimilative and integrative perspective towards

all wisdoms. We land in cultural confusion and give in to the pains of conflict and confusion. As

we accept the fact that all human wisdoms have common basis, we shall have the ease in

accepting the holism of all wisdoms. Let us talk about it.

Both science and art seem to have common basis of primary functioning in terms of neural

mechanism. Both start with human‟s instinctive capacity to observe and imagine. Science then

proceeds on to test every possibility of imagination with provable, objective and measurable

terms, whereas art and culture moves to personalized and subjective expressions.

Both science and art created master works owing to their common initial techniques. The

commonality is also from the fact that man and its environment were common for both science

and art and the observable variables too were common for imaginative expressions. Naturally,

this commonality could find grounds in other areas of expressions of both separate fields. This is

what we talk about here.

Most of the current works on religion, philosophy, spiritualism and culture were created around

1000 BC to 1500 AD. This was the period when humanity had the abundance and resultant

Page 30: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

leisure to put in all major wisdom traditions. However, this is also the time when degeneration of

genetic matters had also concretized, as it had started around 10,000 years back.

Now, the original version of the ancient wisdom, especially of religion and spiritualism may not

be present today, as human instincts are designed such a way that in long use, any wisdom is

degenerated. But, if we read the ancient wisdoms with a scientifically objective mind,

compassionately making allowances to subjectivity of artistic expressions and time-tampering,

we can easily see that core ideas of all wisdom, subjective or objective has a common ground.

What today we see as various forms of religion and philosophy very much looks like the

„culturally run down‟ versions of the original. In addition, we have to admit that the basis of

ancient wisdom was empirical observations only and then, the knowledge base of objective,

measurable and proven parameters were not available. That is why, there had to be some

subjective leeway in conclusions drawn. An intelligent person should discount this when

accepting the ancient wisdom through whatever resources available now.

Still, religion as well as philosophies observed common factors like, there is „one life‟ as despite

forms being different, the „soul‟ in all creatures is one. In the eyes of „God‟, everyone is equal;

be it a human or a mice. Life (soul) cannot be created nor can it die, it just changes forms; soul

taking up new bodies like wearing a new clothe. The ultimate value and goodness of humanity is

love, compassion and universality for all creatures as this is the basis of collective excellence.

Etc.

All these facts are what science also accepts, though the difference is in the interpretation of

what is „God‟ and „soul‟ and their functional relationship with universe. What religion and

philosophies talk of „higher value‟ for humanity, science accepts as „instinctive intelligence‟.

Religion and philosophies speak of man‟s goodness in being in complete and objective control of

its senses and instincts to be in the light of „God‟. Science also speaks of the same „control‟

requirement to understand the instincts and be the master of its intuitive urges (metaphor of a

chariot with six horses).

All wisdom accepts that humanity is better off only when individual curbs its instincts (instant

self-gratification) in favor of society and society in favor of nation and nations in favor of world.

Page 31: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Wisdom in all its forms speaks of importance of collective over individual self-gratification

instincts. The contemporary culture of liberalism and market economy makes individual and its

instinctive instant self-gratification bizarreness the center of all values. This is against the core

values of science as well as religion and philosophy.

Still, it is modern man‟s popular creed and it has made religion and philosophies subservient to

his self-gratification zeal. That is why, pure and core religious percepts have been replaced by

corrupt ritualism and mysticism.

The huge benefit now humanity has that all wisdom, value-systems, cultural-requirements and

collective-mechanisms can be tested on the singular basis of the proven, measurable and

objective facts of science, which are also what core religion and philosophy say. We have now

begun to know our body and brain well even though there is an unending knowledge.

We now have the technology and wherewithal to alter the genetic troubles of human bodies and

minds through eugenics techniques. We are now empowered to create not only sure survival of

humanity but also its excellence to spread to the universe.

It has been observed that even most fundamentally religious people of all religions are in favor of

introducing „technology‟ in their traditional societies and even in academics but they refuse to

accept „science‟ as they fear, science would erode the values that religion somehow maintains

and this would result in total collapse of civil society. The fear is not unfounded. But this fear

emanates from the dualism of religion and science, which is only notional, not real.

For example, consider the traditional man-woman relationship, which was the core culture

responsible for success of human evolution. Both religion as well as science accepts that the

modern social and personal preferences in the contemporary liberal environment are not good for

future of humanity.

The modern liberal notions of gender equality and gender role interchangeability are of course

good and healthy for social and personal growths but the way this idea has been hijacked,

ingeniously interpreted and practiced by a section of population, it is bound to destroy the very

basic structure of human society.

Page 32: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Not only man-woman relationship, rather all relationships of humanity are in for big trouble.

People say, majority of humanity‟s troubles and pains in modern times stem out of relationships,

which are becoming more troubled. Religion appeals against the trend but fails. Science can help

as it offers objective logic and reasoning for the troubles

Globally, most societies are struggling with an unprecedented and hugely dysfunctional culture,

infested with drug addiction, promiscuous sex, divorce and alienation, alcohol, thrill seeking,

suicides, rebellion, corruption, gangs, mafia, crime, drive-by-shootings, teenage pregnancy,

racial hate, terrorism and a horde of psychotic troubles.

Science is value neutral, unlike the prescriptive religion, but more effective as it objectively and

logically explains the underlying troubles and problems that modern man-woman relationship

face. It also explains the „hows‟ and „whys‟ of the prevailing sense of unbridled self-gratification

zeal and selfish as well as psychotic interpretation of gender roles and utterly chaotic gender role

interchangeability.

We have a scenario at hand. Not only religion and philosophy is scared, science also warns

against this calamitous trend. Any amount of religious appeals has not stopped this degenerating

trend in global society but science can help in checking this trend by explaining the working of

instincts and emphasizing the need for self-discipline for a better society. Science is not value-

neutral or against values and morality. It only approaches morality differently.

We just need to have the courage, determination and resilience to accept this new mindset to

accommodate more and more science in our thinking and value summation. It is not necessary

that one should accept these facts and make drastic changes in all aspects of one‟s life. It shall be

very tough.

One can simply do one thing. Accept this new paradigm to define, “who I am”. This shall greatly

enhance one‟s satisfaction and joys as he or she shall find himself in singularity of body and

mind mechanism. That is good to start with.

It would be even better if one uses the energy of skepticism and doubts all. One should use his or

her own resources to re-check their authenticity. Nevertheless, one must not „reject‟ them out

rightly or show them a close door. Doubt them, re-check them, correct them if you find them

Page 33: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

wrong but not „reject‟ them. It is just a humble suggestion that mind‟s value-summation shall

definitely be more inclined towards this desirable „singularity‟ if science is also accepted as a

supportive approach, in cooperation with religion and philosophy.

In the post world war era, researches and surveys admit that the world has become a better place

to live and humanity over all have evolved to better and higher cultural traits. We have now

entered an era of consciousness where our collective and integrated wisdom, led by modern and

scientific knowledge but assimilating the old wisdoms, is making us move towards excellence

and larger wellness. This is the new spiritualism.

Unfortunately, this is still in small pockets and scattered unevenly throughout the globe. The

majority of humanity still has to evolve. There is also a reverse tendency among a large segment

of people who are degenerating to worse mindsets as the environment is becoming far more

competitive and an average human finds it tough to survive.

This new spiritualism is a beautiful mix of ancient and modern wisdoms. This new spiritualism

breathes in new thinking, this new mindset, this new culture of an integrative and assimilative

consciousness of modern humanity.

This new spiritualism, which objectively accepts all lofty ideals of ancient wisdom but

approaches them with a scientific consciousness can lead to a new world order where we all

accept larger goodness of humanity with a far more open and non-dualistic mind. Every

individual can contribute to hasten up the process of engendering of this new world order.

Maya’s Viraat Swaroop: Cosmic Viewpoint

In the most respected and accepted Hindu religious discourse between Krishna and his favorite

disciple Arjuna, there is a beautiful metaphoric description of „maya‟ of the world we live in and

the ideal consciousness position of „leela‟. In the most revered epic text called Geeta, there is a

detailed description of Krishna unraveling the „viraat swaroop‟ (cosmic mechanism) of „maya‟

structures to Arjuna, who was in utter conflict and confusion about his role, in the midst of an

imminent war of righteousness.

Page 34: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Understanding this from holistic, assimilative and integrative perspective of spiritualism,

philosophy as well as science helps in understanding the practical utility of the notions of „maya‟

and „leela‟ in winning over our personal conflicts and confusion of life. We talk about it now.

From a bacteria to humans, this world has billions of living beings and this is a bio-diversity

which makes the planet earth a truly mesmerizing and probably the most unique one in the entire

universe.

This diversity is something we humans do not often see, realize and count for in our daily

thinking and rational actions. Let alone the diversity of all creatures on earth, we do not think of

and admit the diversity within our human species. Actually, we never usually think of ourselves

as a species evolved out of billions of years of evolution.

Almost unconsciously, we generally think of the entire world population as one common pool of

almost equal beings, divided by geographies and culture. Actually, most humans only see and

think about the small pool of people in their ambient social environment and local geographical

limits.

The bitter reality is, like the biodiversities of other creatures, we humans also have the similar

diversity among us and this diversity is not only in geographical segregation and in cultural

exclusivity but originally and essentially in consciousness. It is the consciousness that is as

diverse among humans on this planet as is the biodiversity.

From a tiny bacterium to a mighty elephant or whale, living beings on this planet have different

physical make up and commensurate physical and mental capacities. Their respective

consciousness is also a function of their body mechanism and the environment in which they

live.

The millions of species on this planet have actually, different levels of consciousness, depending

upon the physical and biological make up of their existence on the earth. However, it seems,

within a species, consciousness of different living beings are not as varied as it is in humans.

Humans are therefore hugely different from other species as we have ourselves created so

diverse cultural and physical environments that consciousness within humans are much varied.

Page 35: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Animals have been living in natural and similar environment since ages and they cannot

themselves change their living environment like humans. That is why, it seems they have a

consciousness across population, not as variegated as we. This is a huge facility as well as the

greatest challenge and threat for us.

The humans have diverse consciousness levels even as their physical and biological make up are

more than similar. Almost 99 percent of genes of all humans are same. However, the

consciousness varies because different humans have different brain and mind evolution. This is

because; brain development is 85 percent environment led and only 15 percent gene. This

environment for humans vary so much and that is why sizeable difference in consciousnesses.

World-renowned scientific minds have done a cross-cultural mapping of all possible and diverse

states, structures, memes, types, levels, stages, and waves of human consciousness. As human

development has been an evolutionary process, different human consciousness are on diverse

and often overlapping stages of conscious development and evolution.

The idea is to understand the broad patterns of human‟s individual as well as collective behavior

and actions through their respective shades of consciousness. It is believed that such

consciousness mapping has been very helpful for governments and authorities in planning order

and peace in communities.

It is very interesting to understand that within so-called homogenous ethnic and geographical

communities, consciousness of different members of the same society can vary so much. Some

can be of higher integrative and assimilative consciousness and still, their neighbors may have

age-old animalistic cave man consciousness. Some may be of belligerent consciousness and still

others of the same ethnic group can be sensitive and amicable consciousness.

If one believes in evolutionary process of human development, then only one can accept and

understand all this. The fact remains that all these diverse stages of human consciousness are in

conflict and competition with each other. Every color and shade of consciousness dislikes and

distrusts the other shade and types, as the subjective truths for all sets of colors of consciousness

are so diverse, in contrasts and competitive to each other that there shall always be huge amount

of conflict and chaos on this planet.

Page 36: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

We need to understand and accept with innocence that biodiversity is the rule and this shall

prevail always. The consciousness-diversity and a competing and conflicting state of diverse

consciousness is what makes this planet earth so very mesmerizing and unique in this universe.

This rainbow of human consciousness ensures that every consciousness sees and accepts the

realism colored in a diverse shades resulting in diversity of worldviews and pluralistically

subjective realisms. Ancient wisdom knew about all this and called it „maya‟.

Krishna, while encouraging his disciple Arjuna to perform his worldly duties in pure objectivity

– the consciousness of „leela‟, he unravels to him this rainbowish diversity of consciousnesses of

billions of living beings, from a unicellular organism to a miracle called human. This event is

portrayed in Geeta as an event when Krishna lent his special eyes (read perspectives) to Arjuna,

so that he could see his viraat swaroop (myriad cosmic mechanism).

Like Arjuna, who understood the cosmic viewpoint of life and living and finally landed in a state

of consciousness of pure objective role-performances; those who understand and accept the

cosmic diversity of maya-mechanism and lead themselves towards an assimilative and

integrative approach and attitude towards all shades of this myriad realism hit the road to „leela‟

positioning in the maya-mechanism.

Ultimate Ingenuity To Unravel Maya

Humanity had very early understood that „virtue‟ is not singular. It is specific to utility for

humanity in general. Some things are good and useful when „fresh‟ and upgraded whereas, some

other things had virtues in their antiquities. Preservation and antiquitization was not new to

humanity, even before philosophy and spiritualism could define and prescribe their own ideas

over „ultimate utilities‟ for humanity.

Humanity‟s values, its choice for virtuosity and relevance has always been subjective, like

culture. Humanity fixes its value and utility in different entities in different ways. Divinity,

traditions, rituals, faith, mysticism etc are like wines and paintings. They have larger values and

utility in their antiquity perception. Bread and milk must be fresh but cheese tastes good even

when old and having gone through dated process.

Page 37: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

The notions of „value‟ and „utility‟, which fixes virtues and relevance to an idea or action, are

also very subjective, often, colored by the cultural mind and its archetypal instinctive

preferences.

At the end of the day, wisdom is never singular; it probably cannot be ever. It is highly

subjective to individual or group choices and value summation. Some love them and wish to stay

as „dated‟, some would want them „outdated‟, and others may ascribe it being „undated‟ as

priority. We may think, we all love latest versions of mobile phone but many would love to stick

with their old phones. It is a choice of mind.

No need to set up a jury, no judgment should ever be instituted. Every singular choice out of the

human inventory of plurality has its pleasure and pain, good and bad, benefits and losses. What

one chooses, sets up his life and living journey of pain and pleasure. The worldview one opts,

decides his journey, sojourns, path-mates and destination.

Human ingenuity has almost always helped humanity evolve and grow but, where and when one

applies his or her ingenuity is however individual‟s subjective choice. Every human has his or

her own different destinies as choices make them this way.

Every single choice has its set of pains and pleasures, therefore, at the end of life, we can say,

nobody is better off and nobody is worse off as the average attainments of all choices look

similar, if not same.

It also seems a clear fact that most of us shall always have this regret about the choice or choices

we made or did not make as we all have this innate urge to count pains and not count pleasures.

It is tough to know when and where human ingenuity would work and where not as, it is a choice

that is more on subconscious being than in conscious one. Probably, this is why they call it

„maya‟ (asymmetrical juxtaposition of subconscious value summation).

Repeated surveys have suggested that, most people, when they are on deathbed, regret that they

could not spend as much quality and leisurely time with near and dear ones. One would be bound

to accept that probably, the virtue is in being with our own people and not in personal struggles

for individual glory.

Page 38: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

This is not right ad true. The fact remains that „regret‟ has its own mechanism. The mind

consciousness would always primarily count those „missing‟ aspects, which should have been

there to make a „perfect‟ picture. If someone has worked day and night all life and build a

fortune for himself and his family; at the end of life, he shall regret about not spending enough

time with family and friends. The core idea is – can he possibly regret something, which he has

already in plenty? Some may, but most would not.

On the other hand, someone, who always spent quality time with family and loved them well,

shall probably regret at the end of life that he could not work enough to give more money and

facilities to his family and friend. It is natural. He too cannot probably regret, what he already

has or had in plenty.

We regret what we do not have or what we could not do. Once we understand the mechanism of

the emotion of „regret‟, we shall have the holistic and assimilative idea of life and living

realisms. Our mechanism is designed for „whole‟. However, in our lives, what we attain is the

success, utility and fruition of the „part‟. Naturally, the subconscious mind shall generate the

emotion of this „imbalance‟ and this shall be expressed in the feeling of „regret‟.

Understanding the mechanism of all such vital issues of life, which makes life a „maya‟ and

mystical realism, we can land in a state of mind-consciousness, which is referred to as „leela‟

positioning.

The ultimate ingenuity is making it a conscious process to see and accept all such cardinal issues

of life like, conflict, regret, joy, pain, love, fear, anger, etc, as it reveals the duality of the choices

and value summations. Then it becomes easy to master them. This is one single thing where both

religion and modern objective wisdom are one in opinion and virtuosity of choice.

**

Welcome, Don’t Reject Maya

It is very crucial here to state one fact, which has been a major current in human thinking and

perspective about the world and its utility. This is the reactionary urge of rejecting the vagaries

of the world, along this world too and become a loner and recluse. We need to talk about this

issue too for holistic discourse on „maya‟ and „leela‟.

Page 39: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

In the infinity, perpetuity and immensity of transcendental possibilities of multiversal realisms,

one may stand in absolute and finite objectivity, the level and degree to which a subjective being

can afford to be.

Religion seems to put a restrictive limit to this positioning. It says, “Objectivity is not denying

subjectivity but remaining detached to it. Be, but still not be positioned like being. The non-being

cannot attain the objectivity of being; therefore, being dead to strings of life is no road to

experience objectivity. Being lively to the strings of death may not be ideal, but preferable.”

Limping beyond this restriction is possible, of course, it is, but then, the purpose of experiencing

objectivity is lost as, beyond this limit, purpose of any genre itself is a burden and cannot

practically be carried through. The objectivity of death is near possible in life but then, at this

stage of time-space linearity, life‟s dimensionalities have no reason and utility. Even if it is just

an infinitesimal and microscopic strand of connect, it is essential for the experience of

objectivity.

The realism is one huge objectivity platform and subjectivity, though may seem to stand in

absolute randomization; must remain in cyclic path positioning to the gravity of the objective

core to be of any worth for experiencing.

One may toil, experience and learn the objective art of „acting‟ but then it has no use and purpose

if it is not performed in the „theatre‟. One however is free to say, „art is for the artist, not for the

audience!‟

This is the fundamental issue about being. The centrality of the whole conflict about the

objective and subjective „selves‟ of the being within a singular „self‟ in this realism of the

cosmos. Even if we attempt to transcend the restrictive prescription of spirituality, we still do not

think, we have the right answers. The conflict, emanating out of this dualism remains.

The conflict of realism is still unanswered for humanity. If we accept what religion says, then the

realism has a purpose and there is a whole world of confusing and conflicting, yet popularly

acceptable answers about the purpose, which can satisfy from a stupid to a genius.

The science has still not found its own answers and cannot accept any other as the right one. The

popular philosophy of science about cosmic realism is a theory of „accidents‟. However, even if

Page 40: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

the current realism is a product of accident, it afterwards created a purpose, which is writ large

on the face of every single being and non-being in the cosmos.

From any perspective of any philosophizing angle, despite absolute objectivity, the singular fact

can never be missed and that is – „however or whichever way realism came to be, once it came to

be, it created a subjectivity and prompt came the need for objectivity. The purpose automatically

is born and it is the beautiful baby of both the parents of subjectivity and objectivity.

This beautiful baby called purpose is the generic name of what humanity popularly names as

„maya‟. This baby has the objectivity that cosmic realism in its macrocosm enthralls and

enlightens the humanity and it also has the subjectivity that expresses itself in the myriad colors

and aromas that realism accepts in its microcosmic incarnations.

It seems like a great gift that a „self‟ has the benefit and liberty of having dual-extremes of

objectivity and subjectivity to sing and dance its way to absolute bliss? It seems so. If „maya‟ is

accepted and appreciated truly, in its entirety and magnanimity.

There are enough beautiful metaphors to understand the entirety and magnanimity of maya. For

example, when we start to learn a language, we start with grammar, which is singular and

objective for all. Even if one wishes, rules of grammar cannot change for individual. However,

when we learn the grammar, we have the subjective liberty to use the language we have learnt

for varied and individualized expressions. Someone may become a good orator, someone a poet

and another a writer. It starts with objectivity and then blossoms in subjective cosmos.

Good grammar enriches and enhances brilliant communication and good communication suitably

flavors the essence of grammar. Both are inseparable and what makes the entire experience a

beautifully satisfying one is the poise and symbiotic interplay between grammar and expression

– the objectivity and subjectivity.

Life has the similar rule. „Maya‟ offers both objectivity as well as subjectivity to us. Of course,

the platform and horizon of life and living is colossally huge compared to that of a language.

This truly is the joy of „maya‟. Moreover, the best part of interplay of objectivity and subjectivity

in the domain of life‟s „maya‟ is the mystical element of randomization, which enhances and

enriches the flavors of life experiences.

Page 41: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

This randomization of „maya‟ is also somehow a simple and innocent prescription for all

humans. It tells us in perceptible wisdom that learning of live and living realisms needs to be

objective and singular like grammar. However, everyone then shall have infinite subjective

liberty to experiment with the realism one has in his or her life.

It also warns us that even while we take subjective liberty of „expressions‟, the grammar of life‟s

basic and primary learning must never be compromised with and maligned. The subjective

liberty shall always remain innately aligned to the justification and utility of grammar.

That is why we talked earlier, “The realism is one huge objectivity platform and subjectivity,

though may seem to stand in absolute randomization; must remain in cyclic path positioning to

the gravity of the objective core to be of any worth for experiencing.”

Do understand and accept this simple and innocent metaphor. The cosmic realism, still to be

unraveled in its details, remains an objective grammar for all to follow. The mechanism, which

was created (by God or accident) before we all came to be is objective. The mechanism that we

have and that things around us have is objective reality. Within this framework, every individual

has the subjective liberty to express and interpret the realisms but never shall the subjectivity

stand in contravention and denial with the objectivity rules of the cosmos.

If one understands the mechanism of „maya‟ and accepts its randomization as one objective

platform, the subjective liberty of individual gets energized and then, the life becomes one

infinite journey of song and dance. That is why, whichever way „maya‟ comes, welcome. This is

the preferred consciousness position, called „leela‟.

It is however a sad reality that most humans do not care for learning the objective „grammar‟ of

life and still insist on presenting themselves as the master craftsperson of life‟s „language and

expressions‟. They unconsciously malign „maya‟.

Road To Song And Dance Of Maya

Page 42: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

To be or not to be… to do or not to do… yes or no! There shall always be at least two ways to

make a choice; this is the minimum. However, at times, there may be more options available,

more roads to make a choice from.

Now comes the question. Why is there always a dualism and conflicting options for choices?

Why there is not a single, decisive and prescribed option for all to follow? Almost every human

being thinks on the same line as everyone is faced with the dualism of life and living choices.

Everyone also knows that this dualism is the core trouble of humanity as whichever option you

choose, it is laced with regrets in the short or long run, even when initially it may sound as the

best and the right choice!

Often, we do not find the right answers of what we ask from ourselves or from others just

because, our very questions are either not right or, we do not basically understand the nature and

scope of the question we form in our heads, or „heart‟ and „soul‟.

At the very outset, it must be mentioned here that we all have a mind training, which our popular

cultures make ingrained in our deep conscious and unconscious minds. Anyone who asks too

many questions is considered a bad boy or girl and parents, teachers, seniors and even peers call

such question-happy persons as „nagging‟, „derailed‟, „unintelligent‟ and even very

undisciplined.

This mind training by the popular culture of our civil society has disastrous impact on all

budding minds as, „questions‟ are not considered an intelligent and disciplined action. As all

those, who think and show confidence that they know the „answers‟, are hailed as genius and

successful, the impressionable minds of kids and adolescents develop a tendency and ingenuity

to formulate smart and socially navigable „answers‟ rather than good questions. In this zeal for

„answers‟ their minds start imagining and „inventing‟ those answers which land them in larger

conveniences in their ambient cultural milieu.

Science has now established the ingenuity of mind mechanism. It says, “When confronted with

the unpredictable, illogical and undecided questions, the cortex area of human brain (which

processes ideas and thoughts), the so called thinking and rational mind, refuses to admit defeat.

Page 43: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

It does so because defeat is socially inconvenient. Mind is quick to convert inconvenience of

questioning pattern into the convenience of „smart‟ answering pattern. It draws on all your

computational abilities to search for patterns in random data.

“As there is none or little data (as questions are not understood and no logical answer available),

in the absence of real patterns, the mind starts detecting illusory ones and even those, which are

available in shred and pieces in the cultural milieu. In addition, it starts prompting you to act on

them with huge amount of conviction and confidence, as is apt for a winner”.

We have already talked about why it is not possible for humanity to have the right data to base

our answers on them. Things happened billions of years back and we are formulating questions

based on the feeble and fickle data of those archetypal events. The answers can only be „smart‟

ones, never the „true‟ ones.

It has to be understood from the modern and contemporary knowledge of mind mechanism; how

brain functions and why this dualism is not only essential and natural but also very useful for the

growth and evolution of a person. Let us understand it.

Millions of years back, when living creatures had very un-evolved brain, they had no dualism.

They did singularly what their raw and mechanical instincts led then to do. They would feel

hunger or thirst and go for food. That would make them easy prey for predators. Later, their

brain evolved and they developed dualism. Fear was first intelligence that made them survive as

even when instinct told them to eat; they would fear, stop and look around, assess the threats and

then proceed.

This new intelligence improved their survival. Dualism led them ask question to themselves and

created a facility called „value-summation‟ between two conflicting instincts called, „hunger and

survival‟. Fear, a negative thing for humans was the first intelligence. Questions afterwards

became more complex and creatures became far smarter, leading them to better survival chances.

Simply speaking, a person with more questions in mind is surely a far more intelligent person

than those who think, he or she has right answers. Intelligence is in allowing the higher brain to

admit and process more ideas, thoughts and emotions which may enhance the „conflict and

Page 44: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

chaos‟ in life but it is there to lead you to better survival chances. This is innate mind

mechanism.

A section of scientists say, “Chimpanzees and humans have less than one percent different

genes.” Still, we are far better than our „cousins‟ because we have evolved brains, which is

capable of processing larger inputs and thus making the outputs larger, complicated and even

chaotic. But this is our strength; this is our superior intelligence.

This is because, chimpanzees have a very small and restricted culture and physical environment

and we humans have a culture and physical environment hundreds of times vast and complicated

than theirs. Naturally, our brains need to process millions of times more input info into our

brains. This surely creates a huge diversity of outputs. The conflict and chaos is the result of it

and this is good for humanity.

So, be sure; if your brain asks too many questions, it is for sure you are a genius, even if you do

not have much answers to offer. You are far better than those pop-geniuses who feel they have

all the answers in the world but no single true and right answers; no knowledge whatsoever of

what the true and right questions are.

Then, take a step ahead; accept the multidimensionality of wisdom that humanity has created

thus far. Take a holistic, assimilative and integrative view of the world around you. Understand

the questions first. Be objective, compassionate and open to probabilistic multiverse of life and

living situationalism. When you understand the right questions, are answers far away? They are

inherent and wrapped in the question itself!

Try it and then taste the real joy of this intelligence of questions; of this „maya‟ of troubling

„conflicts, chaos and conflation‟ of choices and options of life. You would surely love the dance

and music of „maya‟.

Obscure Joys of Entangled Communication

There is one important aspect of „maya‟ structures and it is the mystically randomized nature of

causality. We talked about this „mystical causality‟ for unraveling the dynamics of immortality

Page 45: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

issue. Here we shall talk about causalities in a different domain of life and living confusion and

conflict.

We shall talk about causality in holistic and assimilative way to understand how and why there

seems a mystical „connection‟ and „relationship-pattern‟ between random and distinct elements

and aspects of life and living. Synchronicity, clairvoyance, karmic connection, etc are the names

given to this „mystical-connect‟ and causality between what we perceive as random and

independent elements of life and living.

Let us start. It is said, obscure is beautiful. Well, this was a common refrain decades ago when

we were not living in a society fashioned by extremities of openness and transparency. The

liberal world of „bare-all‟ preferences may not adhere to this clichéd but, still, obscurity is a turn

on, a definite curiosity call and still, a staple feedstock for artistes, mystics and also scientists.

What we know and is revealed to us is a boring proposition. Obscurity keeps the curiosity and

interest alive and kicking. That is probably why, men find wives as boring and girlfriends

interesting as later is still on the other side of the threshold of known and an idea muffled in

obscurity! Sorry, no offence meant! Just an innocuous metaphor.

Dabbling in obscurity is truly mesmerizing. It gives you the leeway for expanding the horizon of

your imaginations and often, illusionist interpretation of hypothesis in the realm of obscurity. In

addition, if this obscurity is what science extends you as palette to paint your imagination,

nothing better! It gives you a reasonably confident basis, not that you need one, anyway…!

We have a word that we use very cheekily in common parlance called „entanglement‟. Science

gives this word to us in somehow very interesting and obscure domain. This adds flavors and

colors to it. How?

Quantum physicists use the term entanglement in a rather interesting connotation. It says, when

two atoms are closely associated, they are in a state of „entanglement‟. They say, “Take the two

hydrogen atoms for example and take them to the opposite ends of the universe (about 42 billion

light years apart). Now, change and observe the state of one of those electron‟s spin, and the

Page 46: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

electron of the „entangled‟ atom on the other side of the universe is changed at that same Planck

Interval.”

This means, light speed does not regulate everything after all as, information from one entangled

atom to another one reached in almost fractions of a second whereas the fastest thing in the

universe, the light would have taken at least 42 billion years to reach the same distance!

Oh! Obscurity at its worst best! Isn‟t it? In common language, we would say, it was like the

speed of consciousness, our mind, which only has this speed to attain that! Some would say,

what bonkers it is… ridiculous…! Please do not reject it summarily. Scientists say, “This exactly

shows, in quantum realism that information, distinctly describable bits of information, can be

communicated without needing to adhere to Einstein‟s rule about light speed.”

Do not get puzzled and troubled. This energy is not always required to deny you the right to play

with this energy and use it as a feedstock of mysticism, artistry as well as philosophizing. This is

the real joy of it. Science and philosophy has this beautiful symbiotic relationship. Philosophy

often feeds scientific quests and scientific quests often are subject-line of philosophizing.

Therefore, the separating line of obscurity may be a strange energy but it is a useful one for

probabilistic situationalisms of philosophizing obscurity.

What we have as raw stock for philosophizing are two words – „entanglement‟ and

„communication‟. Before we go on to treat the multi-dimensionality of the two words, we need

to reiterate here a reality check. First, it is for restrictive purpose of paradigm building for a very

metaphoric-mechanism; having utility only for arriving at a dimension which otherwise may not

be possible. Secondly, there is a clear-cut need not to confuse this idea with popular words and

interpretations of culturally trained mind. If we stick to it, we can never ever enjoy the artistry of

obscurity in its playful entirety.

What we can think of entanglement and communication can take infinite meanings. What we are

attempting to philosophize about is an aspect of life and living that somehow suits to both the

terms in a single framework. We are taking about the two „entangled‟ entities of our

„consciousness and intuitiveness‟.

Page 47: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

We probably cannot find any other two entities of our lives as „entangled‟ as the quantum

mechanism suggests in terms of particles. Of course, some can say that two lives, as distinct as

anything can be very well termed as „more entangled‟ when they are in „love‟. True love, where

the two identities melt into one single identity is a strong contender for „entanglement‟, provided,

love can reach such heights of nobility and honesty and two identities actually do melt

completely and perfectly!

However, even if we consider these hypotheses to be true, we cannot be sure as this

entanglement actually leads to the very denial of duality as melting down and being singular

defeats the very „entangled‟ criterion of dualism of identities. The dualism however of

„consciousness‟ and „intuitiveness‟ of a single self is closer to the „entanglement‟ mechanism.

Everyone, who is living, experiences this dualism of his or her „self‟ and the entanglement, even

if obscure, it is always so excitably perceptible in daily life and living experiences. So, we pick

up this one for philosophizing here.

The interpretative causality of this entanglement is truly exhilarating. The two identities of a

consciousness and intuitiveness are almost like two sides of a coin. If a tail comes, you have a

situation but there always remains a potential of head and its resultant situationalism in one‟s life

and both are inextricably entangled. The toss of tail always affects the untapped potential of

heads and vice-versa. Similarly, the call of „consciousness‟ in a particular life and living situation

always affects the potential and probabilities of the „entangled‟ call of „intuitiveness‟.

In our lives, we are usually intuitive. Therefore, we also somehow unconsciously decide the

eventualities of what could have been, had we listened to and acted according to a „conscious‟

choice. One choice instantly shapes the eventualities of other choice and for this to happen, you

do not need any medium of communication as both are entangled such a way that both in finality

are in total singularity of mind-mechanism.

There is a famous quote of a very great man, which reflects this entanglement. He said, “there is

virtually no doing that you would not consider undoing and the vice-versa; and even regret doing

or undoing after it is past you but still, the momentary pride and utility of the doing and undoing

almost always makes it happen or unhappen… and this is the obscure joy of life and living

choices…”

Page 48: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Then, what comes of all this? That the joy of obscurity is in the ubiquitous emotion that though

there is a déjà vu about it but still, there is little control over it. Let alone there being any

occasion to be judgmental about its finality and fruition! Alternatively, are we only half of our

actual potential as the other half is always in the realm of obscurity with a feeling of still being at

the door of it?

What „intuitive‟ self does or undoes, opens up the dimensions of what „consciousness‟ could do

or undo and the vice-versa. Life and living choices always seem to be half opportunity and half

potential or half success half failure or half joy half regret. Is it? Should we take this? Oh! What

then is the fruition of this philosophizing?

Yes, you are absolutely right, philosophizing is a huge support system for humanity. It must put

you in good stead, not leave you confused and chaotic. What we eventually philosophize is,

„entanglement‟ and „communication‟ are two hugely beneficial concepts and ideas in our lives

and we can truly enjoy its randomization but we need to understand it.

First, almost all things we consider important for us, are in varying degrees of „entanglement‟

with each other and each one dimension automatically affects other. Secondly, most

entanglements have communication linkages and they speak in a language we either do not

understand or happily ignore. There is a systemic causality, which surrounds as and

communicates with a purpose. We often fail to pick them up.

Blaming it on the fast speed of life and innumerous pressures on us is no solution. We all have to

develop the art of understanding this „entanglement‟ in all walks of our lives, especially that

between „consciousness‟ and „intuitiveness‟. In addition, we have to be emotionally as well as

intelligently at it to listen to and understand the communication going on between the entangled

entities. That shall help us in making much more informed and well-poised life and living

choices.

Such is the arrangement of this universe and everything around us that we are in all and

everything around and far away from us are in varying degrees of the state of „entanglement‟ and

the „communication‟ between all these are in the air.

Page 49: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Doing, undoing, joying and regretting are part of the life-play. However, maximizing joys and

minimizing regrets is our core business and our core competence. We are human after all…!

Understanding the multi-dimensionality of the world around us and accepting the multi-

dimensionality of knowledge makes us achieve that. We can do it… we must…!

**

The God Within

Since time immemorial, inquisitive people with questions in their hearts spent huge amount of

time and energy to find what is good, ideal and desirable for all humans and for all times to

come.

So much has been written and more than that remains to be realized through unwritten traditions

and wisdom ingrained in the original nature. Through the ages and in different stages of human

knowledge and civilizations, to some great people were revealed the „unknowable‟, that is the

ultimate wisdom that cannot be known but only be realized.

However, for the benefit of humanity to come, they created some „Beej Gyaan‟ (seed words)

which is just a word or a set of words written in some mantra format. These are important

metaphors and symbols for humanity to decipher and understand. All such seed words reveal

„one thing‟. Wisdom is singular and that is why the notion of God is also singular.

One such all-encompassing and ultimate seed word is: sat-chit-anand (sachidanand).

The three parts of the seed word means :

sat = absolute existence

chit = absolute consciousness

anand = absolute bliss….

The corresponding word for „absolute‟ in sanskrit is „mool‟. We can say it means absolute but as

it is; the words that humanity has designed cannot fully explain the deepest of meanings.

The word „mool‟ has following wider meanings: absolute, intrinsic, innate, natural, zero, etc. The

seed word reveals: sat-chit-anand is the intrinsic nature, innate positioning, natural mechanism

Page 50: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

and transcendental purpose. Sat-chit-anand is a being‟s original and innate positioning. It is the

absolute and ultimate arriving.

The modern and very contemporary scientific ideas of psycho-synthesis and psycho-energetics

also say the same thing. In very simple words, it is your own „common sense‟.

The core idea of it is that, sat-chit-anand being the „mool‟ idea, it is already and well there in all

living being, one does not have to create it, or find it, or teach it or learn it or propagate it. The

ultimate goodness and wellness is within us.

We just have to have it. Common sense is just there to be revealed and realized. All beings have

this within them. It is so simple to sound true. For, we all have the mind training to accept

goodness as something very complex and beyond our easy endeavors.

That is why, we all pray our respective Gods to guide us to be good. The fact remains, goodness

is just a seed word and very much singular, well within the easy reach of our simple endeavors.

As this seed manifests itself in a complex structure of a giant tree with innumerous branches and

uncountable leaves and fruits, we all are led to believe, goodness is very complicated. It is never,

it is just a seed.

Plant the seed of this common sense in your mind and let it grow within your mortal being. Then,

enjoy the diversity of goodness and be your own God. All rational minds have told us since ages,

God is within us. Those attempting to find it outside are doing the mistake of uprooting a giant

oak tree from the jungle and planting it in their house garden. Like seed, goodness grows within

and it cannot be transplanted. Even if it happens, it would not survive long.

The seed realism of goodness is „accommodation‟. Acceptance of „I‟ with compassionate

accommodation towards „We‟, „He‟ and „They‟. No doubt, one is designed to believe in „I‟ as

the center of the universe, but then, the „I‟ needs to be compassionate and affectionate towards

the existence of „others‟ in the periphery.

This is what rational minds have called „holism‟. The liberty of periphery to be equitably (if not

equally) as important as the center and the duty of center to accommodate periphery in the liberty

Page 51: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

to be what it is. This holism is the only divinity, a singularity of situationalism, the imagery of

Gods may be in plurality; divinity is not.

Most rational minds have warned humanity of the „dictatorship‟ of singularity of elements other

than the abovementioned divinity. The dictatorship of all sorts, especially the dictatorship of

subjective intelligence, dictatorship of parts; that of either the center or the periphery is anathema

as it kills the goodness. Only the dictatorship of holism is allowed; this dictatorship of

compassion, accommodation and acceptance is welcome. Divinity alone can be a dictator.

We All Are Seeds

A very learned man had once said, „what I have attained, I wish to give it to people in the form

of seed words‟. A great maestro of dhrupad classical music was saying, „the greats of music, the

forefathers have explored and understood music and they gave it to us in seed form‟.

All great creations of wisdom since ages have been preserved in „seed words‟ or „seed art‟. That

is the only way a tree can be preserved for ages. Trees come and are felled by humans but, the

wisdom of the tree can be preserved in seeds.

Any good and humble human being will ensure that the seed is sown in the right soil and gets the

timely and right doses of sun and water. As this happens, if not the same then a similar tree shall

come up even after thousands of years after the seed was created.

In fact, the seed-imagery is the first and most potent metaphor humanity could see and take as

foremost way of understanding and preserving the cosmic truth. When there was no language, no

culture, not even civilization, humans could see that a seed falls on the ground and soon, it

becomes tree. This was the first truth…

A seed however is only a potential, like a human life. However, it cannot find its true potential

by itself. The potential is actualized only when it finds the soil. Greats have insisted that most

average humans need a good guru (teacher) as the right soil. A guru is just a catalyst as a soil.

The soil does not want anything for itself and does not even wish for a seed. Soil makes a seed

Page 52: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

become a tree because it is the essential nature of soil. It is self-less not by choice but by

positioning.

Practically, the family and society work as „soil‟ for the seed. All seeds shall be fortunate enough

to have the right and fertile soil for their growth to become a tree. Actually, it is the fundamental

right of every seed. Often, in contemporary times, this soil is reluctant to accept this right of the

seed and is prompt to throw the onus on politics and governance. Sad and bad time it is for the

seeds of today.

The soil in itself is a huge metaphor. It shows us the true „leela‟ positioning of consciousness. It

shows what the desirable „karma‟ is in the domain of „maya‟. Soil turns a seed into a tree and this

is not its „action‟ but positioning. Karma is never an act or action; it is simply a positioning like

soil. It is soil‟s essential nature; karma is also one‟s essential nature to be like soil. Not only

family and society, every person should also behave and extend its consciousness as soil for

every seed that comes in his or her life.

This however is for common people, the learned have to go different way.

Let us also understand the metaphors of seed and soil in a different perspective. It is truly tragic

that most humans never find the soil. This does not happen because, for this to happen, a seed

has to first fall from its egoistic position in the sky (treetop) and assimilate in the soil beneath.

Secondly, the seed will have to dissolve its being the moment it falls on the soil, as the soil will

ensure that what will come up is a tree. Often, the seed in its ego and ignorance is averse to going

to the soil. Falling down from its position to accept its own dissolution is a tough call.

The issue has become too complicated now. The seed now complains that soil is no more good

and suitable for it and that is why, it is reluctant to handover its dissolution and future growth to

this „corrupted‟ soil. The teachers have also lost credibility as soil. The seed then opts to plan and

execute its own growth independent of soil. We have a new jungle where trees have grown

above the soil!

The soils have their own sets of accusations for this new breed of seeds. They are prompt to

point at that the seeds are growing up to be bad and problematic trees as they do not have toots in

the soil.

Page 53: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

We all are seeds. We all are dormant potentials. We are all in tough times. The reality may be

two-faced. Both seeds as well as soils may remain in battle situations with each other. The seed

may never accept the dissolution of its ego, pride, ignorance and selfishness. The soil on the

other hand may never admit it has lost the magic. Anyway, casualty lists are on both sides and

humanity suffers. The result is; there are few great trees around, sad it is.

Being Our Own Media And Regulator

It is indeed a sad but omnipresent truth of the living experience. The good and right things are

very much in minority. Far more depressing is the fact that the minority of goodness and right is

usually prevailed over by the majority of bad, wrong and undecided. Moreover, this can be easily

understood.

Before that, everyone would argue, who are you to judge what is right and wrong? After all,

good and bad are all very subjective choices! May be, but the associated question is, why

majority of what people speak are good and right whereas the same is in minority when it comes

to their actions? This suggests, there definitely is a consensus on what good or right is and that is

why, it is usually a spoken truth.

It is because; most righteousness parameters are instinctive or socially relevant since ages. They

however are not the same in action as practicing them is a tedious and long-term virtue and

human minds are culturally trained to look only for short-term fruitions.

It is almost perceptible now that in the long history of humankind, all major developments in the

world had three things in common. First, most of these developments were very good intentioned

and originated out of the long struggle or deep pain of humanity to make the world a better place

to live. Be it religion, philosophy, culture, law or science.

Second, it is a real curse that only a small group of people initiated actions over good ideas but

they seldom penetrated and reached to the mass levels. Almost all goodness started with a

minority voice and needed support from all possible media to reach the masses to ascertain

authentication from the majority. The regretting fact is that most goodness in the past got either a

bad media or no media. The „no media‟ was not as perilous as the „bad media‟.

Page 54: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

The sad reality in the long history of civilized nations and civil society is that the media of their

times failed to rise up to occasion and chiefly because the leaders of media were themselves very

poorly knowledgeable and aware. The result was low or unfocused people participation in

support of the goodness. By the term media here, we do not mean the „Press‟ only. Media means

those people and institution in all spheres of life; be it religion, philosophy, culture, law or

science, who had the leadership position to influence societal decision-making-mechanism.

The third and important thing was the natural corollary of the second. As the goodness could not

assure involvement and participation of the majority, a small group of unscrupulous people very

cleverly entered the scene as „intermediaries‟ and usurped the benefits in connivance with the

authorities entrusted with the task of delivery of the goodness. Here too, historically, media

failed in its role to preempt and prevent such unwanted usurpation and pilferage. Rather, in many

cases, media and its leaders proved hand in glove with the plunder mechanism and enjoyed

undue heavens.

It is Important to know the two prerequisites for the success of any goodness that was initiated

for general well-being of humanity. Primary requisite is a very aware and proactive media and

secondly, a well-oiled regulatory mechanism for fast and steady penetration and reach to the

masses as well as the insurance that goodness reached in the right and avowed shape and size.

Nations, which have grown and evolved as cohesive and conscious societies where the social

mass itself plays this crucial role of being a proactive media as well as the regulator, they have

thrived as human collectivity.

It is to be clearly understood why all this happens. As we will understand that, we all shall

develop very compassionate and affectionately objective view and stand over those people who

either play villain to goodness or are simply a misguided lot. Only a conscious society can make

them fall in line with the majority voice of sanity.

Human ingenuity for pilferage is instinctive; it cannot completely be done away with. This is the

expression of human‟s survival instinct. It has been said hundreds of years back by a wise man,

“nobody can understand and check when a fish drinks water while being in water”.

Page 55: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

„Self‟ is an undeniable reality and „selfishness‟ is also very natural, instinctive and intuitive. It

comes out of the genetically designed urge for self-preservation of any living cell. The nobility

of human selfishness is however a social and cultural product. This social product is not intuitive

but inculcated by right education and objective mind training.

The fear or care for social approval and reprimand decides the intensity of inclination of

selfishness to indulge in ingenuity of pilferage. The basic fear is the fear of majority and the only

potent check on human ingenuity. However, humanity has always been unfortunate in the sense

that goodness never gets majority backing and ingenuity always does get it.

This rule applies to all bad and wrong things of humanity; be it the issue of corruption, religious

bigotry, religious fundamentalism, religion-based-frauds, crimes, superstitions, social evils, etc.

All evils of humanity thrive in societies where people are divided and level of mutual trusts is

low. In such societies, it is almost impossible to build a majority opinion on any issue of

goodness. In such space, fear, insecurity, gross ignorance, poor societal law-enforcement,

undecided value-system of society, etc. add more chaos. This gives the unscrupulous people a

chance to plant more ingenuity of evil.

We all live in a liberal and open world where individualistic urge for instant self-gratification

gets huge media support and others. Society as a collective entity is fast becoming extinct. As

there is little fear of a possible societal disapproval of any act, all intuitive ingenuities of

individuals get prompt boost up.

We have a situation in almost all countries now. There is a growing anger and distrust towards

the governments and other authoritative systems of the country. People think; the governments

are not only becoming corrupt but also very inefficient. In all problems, not only in governance

issues, people put the onus of blame in government and its agencies. The media is only trigger-

happy to ride on the populist sentiments.

No doubt, the government corruption and inefficiency is a big issue but it is also equally true that

all blames for all troubles cannot and should not be off loaded on government. There are layers

of incidence of troubles and also, layers of their solution. Every layer participates and must

participate in all troubles of a nation.

Page 56: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

Sadly enough, the primary layers of family and society are not participating actively and

efficiently in solution efforts as these institutions are fast becoming less effective and their utility

is not accepted by individuals. As a result, all expectations are pinned on governments as this

layer is accepted as the only potent and effective mechanism.

There is this lawlessness and anarchy in society, which is almost every nation‟s chief trouble. No

doubt, good and effective governance, policing and legal structures‟ efficiency has a decisive

impact on solving the trouble. However, can society and family be aloof from the responsibility?

This is happening; families and societies have lost all responsibilities of solution and that is why,

the governments are losing credibility.

It has to be accepted; politics is just a super-structure on the social structure. No amount of

governance efficacy can effectively check the deviant attitudes, behavior and actions of

individuals. The family has to own the primary onus. Society must always be the most potent

force in disapproving any deviant tendencies.

Over the years, the families and societies have failed and that is why, almost all deviant

behaviors and attitudes are having a free ride. The situation is very critical now as deviant

attitudes are getting media focus and even a pat on the back. Moreover, as the society reacts to

these at times and blames it on the government, the media is quick to take sides of the populist

stupidity and anger.

No society can sustain and thrive if the society and family drops its responsibility as the largest

and best media and regulator. Governments and their authoritative forces are very weak

mechanism and usually have limited impact of notional regulation. Governments are fast

succumbing to populist demands and losing authoritative objectivity.

No doubt, the government systems have to improve a lot but families and societies have to first

own the primary responsibility. The governments and its agencies shall automatically rid

themselves of corruption and inefficiency as families and societies don the role of the proactive

media and regulator.

Page 57: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

It has to be accepted as a bitter pill that weak and inefficient government mechanism is in fact a

natural expression of an irresponsible and rudderless society. Only a potent and responsible

society is an effective check on government corruption.

As we have a responsible and proactive society, this shall automatically lead to a stage where,

every individual shall become his or her own media and regulator.

About The Author

People say, what conspire to make you what you finally become are

always behind the veil of intangibility. Someone called it „Intangible-

Affectors‟. Inquisitiveness was the soil, I was born with and the seeds,

these intangible-affectors planted in me made me somewhat analytical.

My long stint in media, in different capacities as journalist, as brand

professional and strategic planning, conspired too! However, I must say

it with all innocence at my behest that the chief conspirators of my making have been the loads

of beautiful and multi-dimensional people, who traversed along me, in my life journey so far.

The mutuality and innocence of love and compassion always prevailed and magically worked as

the catalyst in my learning and most importantly, unlearning from these people. Unconsciously,

these amazing people also worked out to be the live theatres of my experiments with my life.s

scripts. I, sharing with you as a writer, is essentially my very modest way to express my gratitude

Page 58: Maya And Leela: Utility In Life’s Futility

for all of them. In my stupidities is my innocence of love for all my beautifully worthy

conspirators!

lasting relationship can happen only between similar and generic elements. Destinies shape this

way. What destiny has in store for Melissa, the empress, who finds a yogi in her new and
