The Pink Palace has a special exhibit planned for Memphis' 200th birthday! The exhibit will bring together stories of the past and present, and their influence on the future to illustrate the interconnected web of Memphis history. Text here about opening night. Second Annual Made in Memphis Silent Auction
To support the Open Doors, Open Minds program*, Midtown Montessori held an art auction fundraiser on May 9 at Veteran’s Plaza in Overton Park. Students of the school
made some very unique items that showcased their individual artistic talents. Other items were donated by adults. Artistic mediums ranged from woodworking to basket weaving, watercolor to graphic design, jewelry to birdhouses. It was a fun ‘party with a purpose!’ Guests enjoyed a live band, food and beverages, and good-natured bidding competition. Special thanks to Midtown Montessori, its parents and students, and Pink Palace trustee
Tariq Hasan for hosting this great fundraiser!
*Open Doors, Open Minds provides no-cost Museum admission for students who attend Title I schools in Tennessee. It ensures that no child is excluded from an educational and
entertaining field trip to the Museum because of a family’s inability to pay. With $4,000 from this fundraiser, 800 elementary students are directly impacted! Be sure to read some
of the ‘love letters’ from students who benefit from this program.
Steve Pike, Director of the Pink Palace Family of Museums, welcomed students
and parents. Together the attendees celebrated an evening of eating, drinking
and bidding on art from local artists.
