Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials remind private and commercial boaters that state law requires all motorists hauling watercraft to stop at inspection stations. Watercrafts include motorboats, sailboats, kayaks, canoes, rowboats, rafts, jet skis and even small kick boats popular among some anglers. Always stop at AIS watercraft inspection stations for a brief interview and equipment check. Most inspections take fewer than five minutes, but failure to stop could lead to a $135 fine. Inspection stations aim to prevent the introduction and spread of unwanted aquatic invasive species. The annual education and enforcement effort, which this year includes multiple chances to win prizes from an array of local sponsors, is to further curb the risk of aquatic invasive species from attaining a foothold in Montana waters. Seventeen well-marked inspection stations will again be in operation May through September at key border crossings, along major highways, and on heavily used water bodies. Motorists who stop will have their equipment checkedand cleaned if neededand get information on how to enter a raffle for prizes to be awarded throughout the boating season.

Happy Retirement, WoodyWoody is a friend of mine, and many others too.The thought of him leaving, sort of makes me blue!We know that he wont go far, cause Montana is in his veins. His youth was spent near Chicago, but now lives on the Plains.Maybe hell retire here, he really doesnt know. Or maybe to the West, where there is more winter snow!right now he has no power there, so no more power bills,But because he likes to hike, hell have fun in the BIG hills! We met about 2001, when he came to Glasgow Town, He wanted a boat ramp on the Mighty Mo, and it kinda made me frown! It was then I thought the ramp would make a mess in the river that I love. But now I know that it is needed, for fishermen, fisheries and hunters of the Dove!I made friends with him and I started working for Gary,But cleaning the toilet and picking up trash kinda made me scary! In the past if I wanted to fish the mouth, I would call Homer. But because of Woodys concern for others, the Mouth is now so much closer!Woody, your canoe has served you well in the waters of this state,But for us at your parties its kept our beer cold... and thats great!Region 6 and Montana thank you for School Trust and Brush Lake. But I love School Trust which should rally make you proud. And because of your quietness, there has been no real big crowd. We dont know where youll go in the next years of your life, but Im sure you do.But youll always be a good friend of mine and many other Montanans, too!

Thanks for the many years to Fish, Wildlife & Parks. ~ Ron Garwood

The paving overlay job on the Fort Peck Hiway from the Glasgow Stockyards into Glasgow has caused a few minor traffic delays but is almost complete. Nelcon out of Kalispell is in

charge of the project. Too bad since theyre here and all set up with the hot plant that more couldnt be done (its all about federal funding, and a lack of it).

In Hog Heaven A farmer had five sows. Times were hard, so he decided to take them to the county fair and sell them.At the fair, he met another farmer who owned five boar pigs. After talking a bit, they decided to mate the pigs and split everything 50/50. The farmers lived 60 miles apart, so they decided to drive 30 miles each and find a field in which to let the pigs mate. The first morning, the farmer with the sows got up at 5 A.M., loaded the pigs into the family station wagon, and drove the thirty miles. While the pigs were mating, he asked the other farmer, How will I know if they are pregnant? The other farmer replied, If theyre lying in the grass tomorrow morning, theyre pregnant. If theyre lying in the mud, theyre not. The next morning the pigs were rolling in the mud, so he hosed them off, loaded them into the family station wagon and proceeded to try again. This continued each morning for more than a week and both farmers were worn out. The next morning he was too tired to get out of bed. He called his wife, Honey, please look outside and tell me whether the pigs are in the mud or in the grass. Neither! yelled his wife, Theyre in the station wagon and one of them is honking the horn!

I walked into the airport with two bags. I want this one to go to Chicago, and this one to go to Paris. Maam, you cant do that. Why not? It happened the last time.

Its crazy how sexist the postal service is. I guess thats natural with such a mail dominated industry. Its a problem that really needs to be stamped out.
