Please note: The following dialogue is based on an interview between Jennifer and Elizabeth. It has, however, been edited and updated from the original recording and includes additional information. Jennifer: Welcome to Changes in 2012 and Beyond—An Astrological Guide for Each Sign, a special presentation of McLean MasterWorks with Elizabeth Jones of Astrology of Light. In this very special program, Elizabeth is going to talk about the impact of the key astrological events occurring in 2012 and into 2013 on each of the signs, so this should be exciting! Let’s get going and let Elizabeth take over. Elizabeth: Thanks Jennifer, I am grateful to be here. In this talk I am going to address how the key astrologically events taking place will be influencing the 12 astrological signs between now and mid-2013. I’ll also discuss what you might expect and ways to best deal with the impact of these events. There’s a lot of information here, so I suggest you have some paper and pen handy in case you want to make some notes. Everyone is feeling the changes in the air now, especially the acceleration of energies since the beginning of 2012. Many of you are experiencing them in very personal ways as well as seeing them in a more global sense. It has become clear that this is a time of acceleration, of opportunities for increased soul growth, personal evolution and evolution for the planet and its inhabitants, too. As we each embrace the new energies, we are able to awaken to the higher aspects of ourselves. We see this now. We can feel it. And, we are hearing it from many sources. It is no longer an issue of if, but how and when. I feel there are two things that are essential for consciously attuning to and aligning with these energies. One is to let go of the old, and the other is to welcome and embrace the new. If you are ever feeling lost or wondering what to do next or if you have an important decision to make or simply seek to awaken to your higher path, I have found the easiest and most direct way to get back on track if needed is to honestly notice what is going on around you, to let go of what is ready to leave your life and to welcome what is new and coming toward you. Of course, this is not quite as easy as I’m making it sound, but I don’t think it hurts to have a clear and fundamental approach to view the changes that are occurring. The old is falling away. The new is coming in, and after lots of clearing and processing, there is an astrological aspect occurring now that is exactly about this energy, and that is Uranus squaring Pluto.



Uranus Squaring Pluto: Profound change brings awakening NOTE: This aspect will actually be impacting us all through 2014. This aspect (Uranus squaring Pluto) is exact in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2012, and will be influencing us strongly through the remainder of the year and also into 2013. It is one of the primary astrological events taking place that is ushering in the changes happening now. The thrust of the influence for this event is radical, yet also meaningful change. It is about presenting us with what is ready to leave our lives—what we are ready to release, at least at a soul level, to be transformed into its next highest state of expression. This will then prepare us for the new experiences, energies, insights and perspectives that are also ready to enter into our lives as a result. So in essence, the Uranus-Pluto aspect represents a turning point or a crossroads. Are we open to this? If so, what can you count on for your support and guidance? I realize, as I mentioned, that this may sound somewhat simple, and it is, at least in theory. Yet now, under the current astrological influences, it is here—right before us, and not off in the distance or just in our minds, but in our lives. So next I am going to give you an overview of the Uranus squaring Pluto event and how its impact is being felt overall. Then I will discuss how it will be impacting each sign. So Uranus is squaring Pluto. What does that even mean? That means that from the viewpoint of the Earth, if you put up your arm in the direction of Uranus and you put out your other arm in the direction of Pluto, you would be forming a 90-degree angle. They’re literally squaring each other from the vantage of the Earth. That’s what an astrological aspect is. It’s when two planets are making a particular angle in relationship to the Earth. Each astrological aspect lasts a specific length of time. The last time that these two planets made a major aspect to each other was in the 1960’s which contributed greatly to the cultural and political events, and turmoil, that took place during that decade. These two energies opened humanity to new perspectives that changed us forever. And as a result, it was clear that nothing would ever be the same. The Uranus-Pluto square taking place now is the first of a wave of several exact hits, making a 90-degree angle to one another, in the next seven years. They are ushering in this energy that we are all noticing and feeling now. This is significant because the first time such an event takes place is critical, since it introduces the energy to us — personally and collectively. This brings us to a new place in humanity’s evolution — one that provides new opportunities for growth and new potential for spiritual awakening. Think of it as a cosmic wave, we are at the beginning of this wave reaching us, and, as it does, it brings big, even radical changes. Jennifer: So we’ve got whatever is happening right now — whatever is showing up in our lives right now is something that would be showing up for the next two years, and that this is a pivotal time. I don’t really want the ups and the downs — I feel like I’m on a rollercoaster. Is that what it’s going to be like for the next two years? Elizabeth: I’m glad you said that, because you said something I want to clarify. Yes, it will come in waves and the changes and shifts and turmoil will ebb and flow. At times it will feel like being on a rollercoaster. But this doesn’t mean that the very same challenges or issues will just keep



happening over and over again while Uranus squares Pluto. It is more likely that as we embrace the energies coming forth, our experience will elevate and our vibration will rise in exactly those areas we are experiencing the greatest turmoil and change. But in order for this to happen, it will require our attentiveness, our willingness to let go of the old and embracing our spiritual path. Another way to say this is that our frequency will raise as we go through the months ahead in direct relation to our greeting the energies coming towards us. During this time, we all have an opportunity to align with, and in certain cases, to even accelerate, our soul’s agenda for this lifetime, and this can happen very quickly if you really embrace these energies. The nature of Pluto is to bring before you the areas that require deep and profound change, while Uranus brings us a wake-up call making it clear that it is indeed time to wake-up and become the beings our soul intended for this lifetime. Facing what needs to change (Pluto) is a very real precursor to awakening. And now, under this influence, we are given the opportunity to essentially take both of these steps in a very short period of time. I will differentiate further on those two things as we go on. Please don’t hear, “Oh no, it’s challenge after challenge” for these influences will also bring new, thrilling and exciting opportunities paving the way for new ways to grow and evolve. This influence is certainly not all drudgery! Many have faced and had to deal with some very real challenges in the last several years, but now it’s time for those to shift to the next level. You will likely be saying: “Aha, that’s why I was going through that. That’s why I was dealing with all those childhood/family/financial/health relationship issues all those years!” I’m not saying the issues are going to disappear. I’m saying your experience of them is going to evolve as the energy around them shifts, and that this will transform how they express in your life. Jennifer: So this is actually exciting. What this means is that we are getting the energetic support to move through whatever our challenges are, and in fact, if we do, it can result in a better understanding as to their origins, undercurrents and dynamics of our very existence. So this is not at all a bad thing that’s happening! Elizabeth: Right. This is about mastering the changes that are present. Jennifer: Sounds great…got it. Elizabeth: Next I want to discuss the impact of Uranus and then we’ll move on to that of Pluto… X Uranus: The Great Awakener



Uranus always invites you to do things differently than you’ve done them before, and as you do, then you will get a different result. It’s really that simple. And, very importantly, this is how we get unstuck, thus enabling us to move forward. By the way, this could be in any area of your life. Uranus is the Great Awakener, and will, in essence, awaken you to seeing or experiencing some key area of your life in radically different ways than ever before. These changes are designed to wake you up. As you embrace its frequencies, it brings you new insights and innovative ideas, new directions to consider and exciting new adventures all the while offering solutions to problems that previously seemed unsolvable. One way it does all this is by opening the connection between your lower, conscious mind with your higher mind, which is that aspect of your being where innovation and unique expressions of the divine channel through the mental body. This is a chance to bring forth the light from your higher mind into your lower mental body. Uranus is currently in Aries, and here it is all about awakening you to your uniqueness, to your individual expression of the Divine as it seeks to activate that spark that we each hold within. Z Pluto: The Great Transformer Pluto is called the Great Transformer because it represents the most fundamental dynamics of change, which includes transforming the old into the new. When it is strongly aspecting us, as it is now, it initiates the most fundamental aspects of change into the deeper levels of our lives…levels that are generally harder to access than at other times. This is because these issues and patterns reside outside of our normal frame of reference or view and Pluto reveals those that are hidden. By the way, there can be treasures found now as well, ones that you didn’t even know lay hidden within your being. These are revealed as the pattern related to the issue is broken. It’s so interesting how even when Pluto brings with it challenges, how some part of us accepts this because we know it is time to deal with them. As we take this approach, much can clear and transmute, raising our frequency to a higher level. And then after months, years or even lifetimes, shifts happen in what seems like the blink of an eye. Basically, during this time the patterns that had previously been most resistant to transformation are going to come up now. Many have been experiencing this for a while…what’s different now is that with the added influence of Uranus, the chance to transform these difficult-to-change patterns is very much more likely during this time. So when Uranus meets Pluto, yes, sparks fly as it sets in motion a powerful series of waves, as I’ve said, and events that ultimately bring just the change that is needed for each of us to reach higher, result in opening us to a new life. You can also expect an increase in your enthusiasm, excitement and vitality. The key is to ride the waves and not resist. To recap, the key concepts for the Uranus-Pluto square are:

• Challenges to old structures, beliefs and patterns. • Breakdowns and collapses of outdated systems. • Transformation so that we can align with the new energies coming in. • Movement, growth and opportunities in your life that previously felt stuck.



Consider that the changes and transformation possible now are different than at other times, in that there will largely be vertical, and not horizontal, movement. And that, as we move higher, we will also be able to see farther. V Jupiter in Gemini: The Great Benefactor NOTE: This aspect will actually be impacting us all until June, 2013. Before I go into the influence of the Uranus-Pluto square on each sign, I’m going to add one more astrological element to the mix, and that is the role that Jupiter being in Gemini from June or 2012 until June of 2013 will play, and the help it will offer each of the12 signs. Long ago in my studies of astrology, I noticed that whenever we face a challenging or difficult celestial influence, the Universe also brings us an aspect that will help us to deal with it. And now, it is the presence of Jupiter in Gemini until June of 2013. Jupiter is called the Great Benefactor and can offer aid as we each face the more challenging energies that could (and likely will) arise between now and mid-2013. Jupiter indicates where you may experience growth and expansion with greater ease and the area, or areas, where, when you actively seek out learning and greater understandings, will bring you the clarity and insights you need. This is also where you may well find support, relief, help and perhaps good fortune and gifts. It is important that in order to really utilize these things as you deal with the challenges you face, that you ask for Jupiter’s help, and then be grateful when it arrives! Recap of the information being given for each sign X Uranus: This is the area where something new and exciting is seeking to enter your life. For this to happen, you will be challenged to consider and view things from a radical new vantage based on the new information that presents itself. As a result, it’s possible you just won’t be able to ignore certain truths any longer. Your challenge now is to open your mind to completely new ways of seeing and experiencing whatever is before you. At times, you will have interesting new ideas and insights, get flashes of intuition and experience chance meetings and unusual synchronicities—all of these are sure signs that Uranus is showing up in your life. Z Pluto: This is the area of your life where you may experience the greatest challenge, and perhaps your greatest discomfort. Something in this arena may be ready to leave or transform and sometimes we resist this. Yet it is also where, as you allow deep transformations to occur, you will be able to discover strength and courage you may not have even known you had and that will allow you to take bold steps forward. Deep and profound shifts can occur as a result of Pluto visiting the area of your chart that I will give you for each sign. V Jupiter: This is where, by learning and studying in the area indicated, you will get the insights and gain the understandings you need to deal with whatever you are facing. It’s all about a shift of attitude! Jupiter in Gemini reminds us that knowledge is everything. So it is most important, if you want to avail yourself of the gifts that Jupiter can bring during this time, to keep an open mind, consider new options and pursue opportunities that may appear now. The area of your life where Jupiter is influencing you will expand and grow in some way during this time (until June 2013). This is the area of you life where you will have the least resistance to the new energies as they arrive in your life, and thus, where you can enjoy yourself the most.

were born, if you don’t know it already. Your Moon placement can be found in the box directly above where your ascendant is located. This will help you to understand your underlying emotional responses and reactions to these influences.

Lastly, as I go through each sign, if you really relate to what I am saying, yet it isn’t the sign of your Sun, Moon or Ascendant, do pay attention to that, because that sign may be significant in some other way to your own chart, though it is too complex to really explain here. You can follow your own guidance and intuition as to which sign’s information holds meaning for you. Jennifer: Perfect! Let’s go for it. I’m not going to interrupt you much between now and when you get through this. Elizabeth: Ok! It’s time to go through each sign!

Pluto Z : Area of your life where fundamental changes will occur. For Aries expect fundamental changes in the work and career arena, which may be in a state of flux during this time. An underlying theme here is to get clearer about your purpose in the world. Pluto always seeks to show us what is deep and profound and most meaningful to us, and sometimes the pathway there is uncomfortable. Yet as it is uncovered, you discover who, and what, you intended to express in the world during this lifetime. Another dynamic present now could be around your relationship to your father, as well as other forms of authority, such as managers, bosses, mentors, teachers, etc. A current challenge is to look at just how healthy these kinds of relationships are. The key is whether you feel empowered or disempowered as you interact. How you handle your responsibility and honor your commitments is also a part of this. Uranus X : Area where radical new insights and unexpected breakthroughs will occur. For you, Uranus is seeking to reinvent you in some fundamental way. This will change how you see yourself and how you let others see you. In essence, your basic identity is undergoing a radical change. It is time to let go of old personas and time to embrace a new self image. As you begin to feel this new identity breaking through into your conscious awareness it will be as through you are looking in the mirror and suddenly seeing yourself in a new way. You may even go, “Whoa. I’ve never seen myself this way before!” Embrace this emerging aspect of your higher self seeking to come through, for that is what it is. Further, your basic vitality and sense of aliveness is seeking to increase during this time. A key to this occurring is to take bold actions that move you outside of your comfort zone. This will help to invite in and align you with the energies required to take you to the next phase. Jupiter V : Where you will find help, support and perhaps good fortune as you gain new knowledge. You will gain the greatest benefit from Jupiter by studying all sorts of new things. Your mind is eager to learn! This could happen through a variety of ways, such as returning to school, attending workshops, reading, etc. Jupiter is in the part of your chart that rules your mind, attitudes and thought process which result in how you view your world. It is important now to let yourself expand mentally and intellectually and to consider new, alternative ways of perceiving things in general as this will bring you to new places, introducing you to understandings that you have actually been wanting for some time. Also, conversations and your communications are going to be quite meaningful at times, yet also lighter, livelier and more enjoyable. Keys to accessing the higher gifts that Jupiter can bring include listening to others more carefully and staying very open-minded. Lastly, your siblings may be a source of help but also an area of growth now, as those relationships may want to grow and evolve during this time.



Taurus {NOTE: For more information on the impact of each planet read the info above.} Pluto Z : Area of your life where fundamental changes will occur.

For Taurus expect fundamental changes in how you view things overall, which includes your general attitudes and perspectives on things. This can be challenging because you will need to be profoundly open and flexible, and since Taurus is a fixed sign, this may not be all that easy. Pluto here wants you to examine how any rigidity in your thinking keeps you from expanding, growing and evolving. So this isn’t as much what you think, as much as are you open to new ideas and thoughts. It is time to let go of outdated thought forms and patterns! Stand back and look with detachment at your attitudes and belief systems and see if any of them are holding you back. Included here is how you see religion and the place it holds in your life. Are you open to aligning with a particular spiritual path? Or perhaps it is time to break away from one? Basically, you’ll find you need to question many things during this time, and as you do, an overhaul in how you approach your life will occur. The end result is that you may become less rigid, judgmental and dogmatic, and more tolerant and accepting. The key to this happening is to seek a genuine understanding of the higher truth principles and Universal Logos (more information in Zodiac of Light—see astrologyoflight.com) Uranus X : Area where radical new insights and unexpected breakthroughs will occur. The area of unexpected breakthroughs is truly in your spiritual life, as Uranus is going to open the portals to some mystical and wondrous places for you...this may include the higher realms and even past lives. One of the things that you may find is that abilities and gifts you developed in a past life could come forward now. This isn’t really about learning new things. This is about opening to and bringing forth what you already know, though it may be at deep or higher levels. You can connect with your guides and other teachers on the inner planes during this time. Lastly, this is a time when your intuition is developing and your “psychic impressions” are becoming stronger. Messages will come from the inner and higher realms, offering comfort and guidance. Learn to notice and trust your flashes of insight…pay attention to synchronicities and chance encounters…basically messages can come through many mediums and in the blink of an eye. This is a very special and unique time for you spiritually, and it could radically change you.

Jupiter V : Where you will find help, support and good fortune as you gain new knowledge. Jupiter can be a great help for you financially and your income may well increase during this time. It is so important to utilize all your resources which will be many. These enter your life in various ways, such as support, connections, ideas, your gifts and talents, etc. It is time to open your treasure chest wide and see how abundant you truly are as this will only bring you more of what you want and need. A key is to spend time learning about the Universal principles of abundance, which includes the law of attraction, but there are others. Understand them better, because right now they are going to make more sense to you, enabling you to more easily apply them to you life. As you do, you will be increasing your own sense of self-worth. This is a time when you come to truly believe that you are worthy of the abundance the Universe naturally provides, which is an important key to it manifesting in your life. In order for this to happen you must also understand and apply the joint influences that Uranus and Pluto have upon you during this time, so be sure to consider those.

Pluto Z : Area of your life where fundamental changes will occur. For you the area of greatest breakdown and challenge is around your attitude about endings — this will impact you deeply and profoundly. Your life is changing at such fundamental levels that you must be willing to let go of whatever is ready to leave your life in order for this to happen. This includes how you view the lifecycle of birth, death and rebirth, which may be apparent in more ways than one now. Seeing that letting go is necessary in order to move on will open new gateways and bring you new life. It is indeed time to move along…to let go. There may be some grief, and some sadness, but more than any other sign, this is the challenge now. Things are ending. Yes, they are, but things are also wanting to begin. Sometimes the walk between the two can feel odd, bewildering and uncomfortable. Keep before you as often as needed the new life that is seeking to find its way to your door. Another thing that may occur in this journey is discovering your true legacy and the gifts buried in your own lineage. It’s a real key to finding your treasure chest right now. Uranus X : Area where radical new insights and unexpected breakthroughs will occur. Uranus will bring unexpected breakthroughs and radical, new insights and realizations in how you see and feel about your relationship to community. If you have always been drawn to community, now you may seek to pull away from them. Conversely if you have shied away from community in recent years, now you may find you are very attracted to the idea. Either way, how you feel about them is going to change. Another way this could go is that you want to connect with others who are doing something of service for the planet. This may be individuals or perhaps an organization that is devoted to serving humanity in some fashion. Opening your connection to the global family can radically shift your concept of how you fit into groups and what your role is with them and also what the mutual benefits are in doing so. This is a big shift for Gemini in the larger context of how you are seen and known, which can change very quickly now. It will bring about a departure from how you have always seen yourself. Also, this is a time to reconnect with the vision you have long held for your life, which your newly forged connections to community may be a part of. Jupiter V : Where you will find help, support and good fortune as you gain new knowledge. Jupiter is going to help you significantly now because it’s in your sign (Gemini). It will stay here until June, 2013, and it brings you a special Guardian Angel, offering protection and guiding you to just the right place for you to be now. Hence, it is most important that you “follow the Cosmic breadcrumbs”, so to speak. Meaning rather than trying to make something or another happen, pay extra careful attention to where you are being led for you will see that there are opportunities and openings in places where you hadn’t even considered looking. It can improve your self-image during this time, increasing your desire to be seen and heard, and to be involved with others (read Uranus). You have just ended a significant 12-year cycle, and now it is time to show your true colors again. By the way, taking care of yourself physically and emotionally is a very big part of this.

Pluto Z : Area of your life where fundamental changes will occur. The sign of Cancer is one of four that is getting powerfully influenced by Pluto being in Capricorn. For you, it will bring radical and lasting change to the areas of personal relationships, marriage, very close friendships and all forms of partnership, including business. As well as profound change, you may also find these to be mirrors for you, which may not always be easy to take because of the depth of character they will be revealing. This may bring right before you what is needed to change and transform. Think of it as a time of cleaning the mirror, as those closest to you become reflections for you. There are powerful forces at play now that are asking, at some level, for you to see truth and authenticity in yourself in ways you may never have seen before. While the process may be uncomfortable, the end result will be unbelievably empowering. Speaking of which, issues related to power, or abuse thereof, may arise during this time. The key to avoiding this becoming a very uncomfortable challenge is to welcome mutual and unconditional empowerment and respect. You may also form very powerful bonds and alliances with others during this time. And, some alliances may fall to the wayside…letting go of relationships of any sort is not something most Cancers like to do but it may well be a part of creating the space in your life for new, and mutually beneficial, relationships. It is of utmost importance that if you are forming a new partnership of any type that you make certain it is above board and completely equitable. Uranus X : Area where radical new insights and unexpected breakthroughs will occur. Uranus brings unexpected change and breakthroughs in your work environment, which could prove to become a most interesting time for you professionally. If you have been seeking to achieve something new and exciting in this area for a while, this year is the time you might see that come to fruition. There is a key reason for this: you are ready to be seen differently out in the world. Also, how you relate to authority is very much emphasized during this time. You could have clear realizations along the lines of: “Oh, my God. I’ve been giving away my power to my boss (or my father/manager/an old belief system, etc.) and I’m now done with that!” Jupiter V : Where you will find help, support and good fortune as you gain new knowledge. Jupiter is going to be offering you some most interesting help and having a sense for what it is will assist you in experiencing it in your life. I mention this because it will be subtle, so you may have to go looking for it. This may involve any of the relationships there, such as children, spouses or even long-term roommates. Something deep is emerging and now is the time for that to come to the surface, whatever it is. Secrets just don’t work anymore… A dominant theme will be around power. Who has the upper hand? Who is running the show? Is everyone feeling seen and heard? Is there mutual respect amongst the group? This is time to consider: Are my communications clear? Do I listen well? Am I genuinely interested in what others have to share? Do I take the time in my communications to make certain that a true interaction occurred, one where both people are heard? This is a time when your communications can backfire if you are not taking steps to improve them in these ways. Keep in mind that it will require your conscious participation to do so as these are life-long patterns. Another theme will be learning how to manage, if you will, your mind, looking at your mental patterns and thoughts. How do you self-talk? Are you a negative-thinker? These are some things you will find yourself thinking about now… how your mind can become the co-creative force that it was designed to be. Uranus X : Area where radical new insights and unexpected breakthroughs will occur. Uranus will seek to break up those daily patterns that are keeping you from advancing on your path and evolving. It could be as rudimentary as what time you get up and what time you go to bed…or your daily schedule or when you eat. But expect there to be something along these lines that needs changing. Something is needing to shift and it will require new insights and understandings before you can create new, healthy patterns. It may be a time when chaos ensues before clarity appears. Do you know what this is? If so, are you realizing it now or have you strayed from it. If the former is true, and you are manifesting the vision for you life, then this is a time when that will gain further momentum. If the latter, and you have basically back-burnered your dreams, then it will become clear how that has very likely “deadened” your overall vitality. It is time to express who you incarnated to be.
