Program outlineThe Master of Enterprise (Science) consists of 12 subjects comprising four core enterprise subjects, four core science subjects, two capstone subjects and two electi ves.

All core subjects are off ered in intensive mode and are taught over one or two weeks.

Who is it for?The program is designed for individuals with an undergraduate degree in a science or technology based discipline who are currently working in middle to senior management positi ons across a variety of sectors and industries.

Small class sizes facilitate the development of peer-to-peer learning and valuable relati onships with fellow students from a wide variety of industries.

Master of Enterprise (Science)—The Master of Enterprise (Science) creates skilled professionals who generate value for their organisati ons and society through eff ecti ve management of science and technology.

The degree develops awareness of technology-intensive organisati ons, with a focus on the specifi c skills of innovati on and entrepreneurship. Delivered by leading academics from Science, Business and Economics, it provides the knowledge required to bring science and technology projects to commercial fruiti on, and to realise these innovati ons eff ecti vely in organisati onal setti ngs.

Career Outcomes—Graduates of this program are likely to be employed in roles such as:

• Research and Development Manager

• Regional Quality Manager

• Regulatory/Quality Assurance Co-ordinator

Program details Parti cipants can elect to complete either one or two subjects in each intensive block. The fi nal capstone subject is taken over the course of a semester

All subjects are taught at the University’s Parkville campus

Entry requirements:An undergraduate degree in a science or technology-based discipline, and at least three years of documented relevant, professional work experience; or

An honours degree in a science or technology-based discipline, and at least two years of documented relevant, professional work experience; or

A master degree in a science or technology-based discipline, and at least one year of documented relevant, professional work experience; or

A doctoral degree in a science or technology-based discipline.and Personal statement; andEnglish language profi ciency (Minimum Band 6.5).

Minimum entry requirements do not guarantee entry.

FeesProgram length is 150 credit points (12 x 12.5 point subjects)

Local Students:

$3,820 per 12.5 credit point subject

Internati onal students:

$4,832 per 12.5 credit point subject

Core subjects

Students must select four Core Enterprise subjects from the following list:

• Behaviour and Leadership in Organisati ons • Financial and Performance Management• Managerial Economics• Marketi ng for Managers• Producti on and Operati ons Management• Quanti tati ve Analysis for Managerial Decisions• Leadership and Management

Students must complete the following Science Core subjects:

• Commercialisati on of Science (MoE) • Communicati ng Science Eff ecti vely (MoE)• Data and Decision Making (MoE)• Project Management in Science (MoE)

Students must select both of the following Capstone subjects:

• Strategy, Ethics and Governance• Innovati on and Entrepreneurship Project*

* This subject must be taken in the fi nal semester of study.

Electi ve subjects

Students can select two electi ve subjects from the University’s graduate level off erings in Science and Business, approved by the program director as relevant to the enterprise or science interests of the student.
