Design Requirements The Martin Audio Product Support Group can offer Loudspeaker System Design for a given venue. We use our own proprietary software and industry acknowledged EASE software where applicable. We supply system design support for Martin Audio products only (loudspeakers, power amplifiers, processors). Design support for cabling, rigging, consoles, microphones, and any other system components should be handled by the requesting party, and/or referred to a qualified dealer/consultant. Regarding the acoustics of a venue, we can indicate where treatment may be required but as a loudspeaker manufacturer room acoustics falls outside of our remit. In cases where such work or advice is required a qualified Acoustic Design Consultant would need to be contacted. To proceed with a design we require: 1. Scale drawings including floor plan with seating and internal elevations. These should be AutoCAD files or Sketchup files. Should these not be available, any pdf’s supplied must be to scale and have all dimensions clearly noted. It is the responsibility of the requesting party to check the accuracy of these items. 2. If available, a pre-built EASE model. 3. An indication of the fabric of the internal surfaces of the venue (floors – walls – seating – ceiling). 4. Details of any architectural or structural constraints. 5. An outline of proposed system usage (speech only – loud rock – etc.) and performance criteria (required SPL – STI). 6. A guide to the budget available. Though not essential, the following additional items can be helpful in achieving the best results: 1. Details of any existing system and its shortfalls. 2. Any photographs of the venue. 3. Details of any known competitive designs. We aim to supply a Martin Audio headed report with all necessary information for commencement of a project. If lead time is short, this may be reduced to coverage plots and an equipment list. It is estimated that the turnaround time for a design should be within 7 to 10 working days, however, this could be longer if a full acoustic model is required and/or the venue is particularly complex.
