About the application:For offshore cranes safe load limiter and control systems with further options are readily available. The SLI shows 3 different statuses: green is safe, amber is pre-warning (last 10%) and red means overload. If the actual load exceeds the SWL, the system will stop unsafe movements. In this situation, the load can only be lowered to the deck or ground and or by reduction of the actual radius in order to decrease the load moment.The system is equipped with a display showing the operator

the actual load, permitted load, load moment, boom angle and the radius. Slave display for bridge and or control room as per customer requirement.Furthermore, it is possible to install cameras to view the winch drum, boom tip (zoomed) view and or bird-eye view of the crane and its direct surroundings.Optional is an anti collision warning system that prevents damage to the crane itself and or the vessel by virtual wall and or virtual ceiling as required. Another option is a virtual bottom.

Data-logging (already compulsory on-shore in Europe) is standard. Dedicated data-analysing software (running on standard window-pc) enables users to search for events (number of overloads, A2B contacts, average loads).Furthermore, external forces on the crane like wind-speed sensor can be incorporated in the system as well.Upgrading of existing cranes safety and control systems to ATEX zone 2 with boom-tip in zone 1 is readily availalble.
