I grew up playing sports and I have always been interested in peak performances and how people are motivated and challenged to give their best efforts. My background led me to pursue being a counselor, after teaching seven years of high school marketing and business. My first counseling job was in the Canby School District, where I spent ten years as a middle school counselor, and four years as an elementary counselor. In 2009 Canby cut elementary counselors, and I chose to relocate to stay in a field I really enjoy. So far, I have liked working with the students and the school activities, and have felt very welcome.

Meet us, your new School Counselors

Margo ChamberlainSOPHOMORES

Hello, I am Ms. Margo, and I am the Sophomore/10th-grade Guidance Counselor.

As I recently completed my Master of Science in School Counseling, this will be my first year working in this faculty, however, it will be my 7th year working in Education, overall.

After receiving my Bachelor of Science from Colorado College, and teaching one year in the Colorado Springs school districts, I returned to my home state of Oregon, where I taught high school Spanish for 3 years, in Bend, before moving to Santiago, Chile, where I taught Social Studies at an International School, for 2 years. I am passionate about Counseling, filled with ideas to implement, and dedicated to seeing our students reach their potentials. I look forward to making a positive impact in our community!

FRESHMEN

Im proud of the two amazing women in my life - Tess (spouse) and Victoria (daughter). Their strength and love sustain me in everything I do!

As Guidance Counselor for the Graduating Class of 2014, Im confident that I can utilize all my skills to support the Seniors.

During my 23 years residence in The Dalles, Ive been active in exploring the scenic beauty and recreational opportunities of the region. Rafting & fishing the Deschutes River along with camping & hiking the Mt. Adams/St. Helens Wilderness have been favorite ways to recharge and renew... otherwise, I can be found tinkering on home projects most weekends.
