WE REMEMBER YOU, O RISEN LORD
We remember you, O risen Lord, New Covenant at the feast of the cross. Your resurrection
dresses the table for the bread of heaven and the cup of salvation. Blessed are you! —From Come, Lord Jesus by Lucien Deiss, CSSP, copyright © 1976, 1981, Lucien Deiss. Published by World Library Publications. p.163
DRAWN INTO THE STORY “We are witnesses!” The scripture readings
for Easter Sunday concentrate on details report-
ed by eyewitnesses. Listen carefully and you
will be drawn into the stories yourself. Peter re-
ports the good works Jesus did, his death on the
cross, and his resurrection. The passage from
John’s Gospel has us running to the empty tomb
with Peter and John and peering inside to see the
cloths used to cover Jesus’ body. Psalm 118
sums up our response: “It is wonderful in our
eyes!”
What resurrection details do we see in our
lives today? How have we died to our old lives
and been raised up again with Jesus? Let us pay
attention to the new life around us. It is wonder-
ful in our eyes.

EASTER SUNDAY
“He went about doing good and healing all those
oppressed by the devil, for God was with
him.” (Acts 10:38)
On this Easter Sunday, allow Jesus to fill your mind,
body and soul. Pray for guidance on how to live your
life, open your heart to those in need and give thanks
to God for all that He has given you.
What do we have in Christ?
(Before you read any further in the Bulletin-
Please Read This!)
A love that can never be fathomed
A life that can never die
A righteousness that can never be tarnished
A peace that can never be understood
A rest that can never be disturbed
A joy that can never be diminished
A hope that can never be disappointed
A glory that can never be clouded
A light that can never be darkened
A happiness that can never be interrupted
A strength that can never be weakened
A purity that can never be denied
A beauty that can never be marred
A wisdom that can never be confused
Resources that can never be exhausted
These are what Christ Brings to us
Why are we willing to settle for less? Jubilee Year of Mercy
March 27, 2016
Easter Sunday: The Resurrection of the Lord
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and
be glad. Alleluia! Easter is always, but especially in this
Jubilee Year of Mercy, the victory of God’s gentle but
invincible mercy raising up Jesus, “faithful witness, the
first-born of the dead” (Revelation 1:5), “first-born
among many brothers [and sisters]” (Romans 8:29), con-
quering death in all its forms, in all of us in the human
family. In Luke’s Vigil Gospel, heavenly messengers
send the women forth: “Remember what [Jesus] said to
you” (Luke 24:6). In John’s Gospel, the empty tomb
likewise “sends forth” Mary Magdalene, Peter, and the
Beloved Disciple, who believe though they do not fully
understand. Finally, Luke’s evening “Emmaus” Gospel
sends us forth, as “missionaries of mercy,” assuring us
that we will encounter the Risen Lord, today and every
day, in “the stranger” we meet along life’s journey, in
“the Word that makes our hearts burn within us,” and “in
the breaking of bread”
(see Luke 24:32, 35).

CATHOLIC FOCUS
As Catholic Christians we are called by our Lord to con-
tinue our understanding and knowledge of our Catholic
faith, the Sacred Scriptures, and our need to share our
faith with others. These areas are covered in our Catholic
Focus class every Sunday morning at 9:45 AM in the
Catholic Focus room in the Faith Formation building.
We receive our lessons for the week (on a monthly basis)
via email--to download and prepare for the lesson on the
following Sunday. The lessons are based on the Mass
Scriptures for that particular week. We have a catechist
that leads the class as we ponder and discuss how the
Scriptures encourage us to actually "LIVE AND APPLY
THEIR UNDERSTANDING TO THE MANNER IN
WHICH WE LIVE OUR LIVES". Adults of all ages are
welcome. We look forward to meeting and greeting you
as we grow in our knowledge of God's Calling in our
lives-to become the Disciples and Stewards we are
"called" to be. Please stop by and see for yourselves.
