The atmosphere is gemütlich, the menu is iconically German and the sauerkraut is good for you! Everyone is welcome to satisfy their German food cravings at this year’s Pork & Kraut dinner. Enjoy roast pork and pork ribs with sauerkraut and potatoes. Toast your companions with Paulaner draft beer or German and Austrian wine, and satisfy your sweet tooth with linzer bars for dessert.
Before or after dinner, sample Paulaner beers and Liz Pearson’s raw probiotic sauerkraut and shop for German goods from Evelyn’s Bunzlau Polish Pottery and German Specialty Imports. Advance tickets required. $20 adults, $10 children (ages 12 and under). More info and tickets at gai-mn.org.
Princeton chemist Edward Taylor, whose research into butterfly wing pigments led to the development of an important cancer-fighting drug, was known as an extraordinary scholar, teacher, mentor, and human being.
Ted joined the GAI in 2014 as a language student at the age of 91. He was still taking classes until shortly before he died
at the age of 94. He truly embodied a Lifetime Learner. The GAI is deeply honored to help celebrate Ted’s legacy and generous spirit.
Thanks to a $100,000 donation from the Spielman Family Foundation, the GAI is launching the Ted Taylor Lifetime Learner Scholarship Program. Anyone with a financial need who wants to learn German can apply—a family wanting to enroll their three-year-old in the Kinderstube German Immersion Preschool—to an adult who has decided to finally pursue his or her dream of learning a second language.

THANK YOU, BULACH CUSTOM ROCKThanks to Steve Bulach of Bulach Custom Rock, GAI now has two paved handicapped parking spaces! This much needed improvement will allow guests with mobility challenges to more easily navigate the parking lot.
Steve Bulach donated the labor and materials and coordinated the project. In addition, Bulach Custom Rock has made many generous donations over the decades, from a new driveway to steps and sidewalks.
GAI has a long standing relationship with the company, thanks to the company founder, Ebbie Bulach, long time GAI member and former board president. We can testify to their utmost professionalism and the quality of their work, and encourage anyone with a “concrete need” to contact them.
