GIRLS’ HOME A new year, a new challenge
This year has been full of challenges from the start, but through them we have seen God’s hand moving. He has provided the basic school supplies for each of our girls, making his faithfulness known from the beginning.
For our twenty girls, the greatest challenge is the start of a new school year. So we have been honored to see our beautiful Valentina receive four awards for academic excellence (for good behavior and good grades). This shows us that our investment in their lives has been worth the while.
THANK YOU is a beautiful saying,
…But it’s not enough.
I want to thank the Lord for his grace, intervention, and companionship each day. This year has stood out as one of the most difficult in all my years of ministry, with pressures coming from all directions; but I have seen God’s mercy towards me, giving me friends from all around the world. They have given me encouragement in my most trying times through key messages that showed me that God has not abandoned me, and he has used them to demonstrate his care for me. Therefore, I would like to extend a SPECIAL THANK YOU to all of those who walked with me through this desert. Thanks, as well, to those who gave offerings and donations to support the children and the ministry. I can’t forget one episode en particular that touched my heart: I remember a lady who came to our door with just a simple pound of rice when we needed it. This act showed me again that the art of blessing isn’t in giving much, but in giving from the heart.

March 2012
Another important development has been the return of one of our teenage girls, Gloria, and the best part has been to see her true change of heart. We also have had a new little three year old girl come to be a part of our family. Her name is Nicole and her life has brought beauty and happiness to our HOME. On March 10th we were proud to celebrate the 15th birthday of Marta Liliana Posada, who has been with us now for seven years. It was a true joy to bless her on one of the most important days in the life of a young lady in Colombia.
God is definitely good!
We are called to impact this generation
with God’s truth. We will do this by going,
praying and giving… Which will be your contribution?
WHAT WE HAVE DONE for the children
Puerto Libertador is a village near
Montelibano, in the northwest. It is a
community of people who have been
displaced by the civil violence and
facing a variety of difficulties.
We will be taking a team to do a health
and community assistance outreach
there from April 4-8. We would like to
invite you also to join us and be a part of
extending God’s Kingdom here on Earth
by blessing this community.
You can do so by using your
professional experience, talents, and
abilities, or by giving financially towards
the purchase of medicines and
transportation costs. We need to raise
US $6,000 and we know that nothing is
too difficult for God.
Find a way to be a part, for God’s glory!
Construction
The goal of rebuilding the house for the children is something that God has placed before us. We have knocked on many doors and God has been challenging us, above all, to believe in order to see “My Dream Home” become a reality. That’s the name we have given our fundraising campaign for the reconstruction, and we shared it among 50 churches throughout Medellin.
We handed out copies of a Christian newspaper, called “Semilla,” in exchange for a free-will offering from each person who chose to participate.
Through this initiative we were able to raise around US $3,000, which, given the history of the Colombian church, is truly a miracle.
• Needs: Spanish-English and Spanish language dictionaries, school bags, casual and dress shoes, arts and crafts materials (foam, construction paper, coloured paper, folders, etc.).
• God’s provision to build “My Dream Home.”
• Medicines and equipment for the health outreach.
• People of good character to join our team as volunteers.
In the adventure of growing, the children have enjoyed seeing God’s miracles, and at the outset of this year we have seen them through the people He has touched. One of these miracles was a trip to a water park sponsored completely by a Swedish foundation called ANCLAR, for which we were very grateful. They had a great time there with time for swimming and recreation. We currently have twenty boys in our home, all of whom are studying, acquiring social skills, and learning Christian principles. We have two new boys in the ministry this year, whose names are Brayan and Sebastian.
