Introduction The MAP60-A manifold absolute pressure digital gauge provides an accurate digital display of your engines relative power setting. The MAP60-A has a 0-5V sender input only and is setup to be used with the UMA pressure transducer, P/N NIEU5OA., (0-60Hg Absolute Pressure Sender). The MAP60-A has a “decimal place” which displays pressure to a tenth of an inch., ie (24.0 or 29.9) factory setup can be easily re-set if needed to “tweak” display calibration. User selectable LOW and HIGH pressure alarm limits can be set if desired to warn of an “OVERBOOST” condition per your application. User select- able (5) levels of internal backlight. Page 3 Installation All of the Aircraft Digital Instruments are of the standard aircraft 2.25” diameter and mounting hole layout dimensions. They can be mounted in your panel either from the front as a surface mount installation, or in the conventional manner from behind. When placing and mounting on the backside of you panel you will not need any additional hardware such as lock nuts, tinnerman clips, bug nuts or the like. The mounting holes in the Bezel are specifi- cally sized so as to grip the included #6-32 allen socket screws just like a elastic nylon stop nut would. The 6-32 screw is merely aligned squarely with the hole and with gentle pressure applied to the allen wrench, screwed in. Should you prefer to surface mount the gauge, the Bezel’s screw holes can be easily drilled out to a clearance hole diameter, allowing then for either a drilled and tapped 6-32 threaded hole on your panel, or passing through your panel to be secured with standard hardware. To change the display damping, press and hold both the and keys simultaneously for (10) seconds until you hear a long beep. Use the and keys to set your desired level of change/ response value. Once the desired level/value is selected, press the key for 1/2 second to save the new value to memory.

Page 14

Setting/Calibrating Sender

The MAP60-A display shows pressure to the tenth, (24.0 or 29.9 for example). We have preset a starting sender value of (67.8). This was found to be a very good number and allowed for the closest and relatively accurate display against the known current barometer setting. You may wish or need to “tweak” this setting per your own installation.

To change the preset (67.8) value, press and hold the key for (10) seconds until you hear a long beep. Use the and keys to change the value. (Small +/- 0.1 changes are suggested) Pressthe key for 1/2 second to save your new entry to memory. Repeat as necessary after viewing the displayed altimeter pressure to obtain a reading relative to your current setup conditions and a known barometric pressure setting (current conditions).

Setting LOW/HIGH Alarm Limits

While viewing the displayed pressure (with engine running or not) press and hold the or key for (10) seconds to view/set the LOW or HIGH pressure alarm limits. You will hear a long beep and the alarm value is displayed. Press the and/or keys to set your desired alarm limit (000.0-60.0). Press the key for 1/2 second (will hear a short beep when released) to save your entry to the non-volatile memory.

Alarms ON/OFF

Press the or key for 1/2 second to “arm” or “disarm” the alarm function. The display will flash “ON” or “OFF” briefly to show you the status of the alarm function.

Key Functions

The keys are used to select backlight levels of intensity, set the LOW/HIGH pressure alarm limits, enable and disable the alarm function, any desired calibration, and/or damping of display.

Backlight Intensity

Press the key for 1/2 second to adjust the backlight level for night viewing. Each time you press the key for 1/2 second, you will hear a short “beep” and the backlight intensity will change. ie, 1, 2, 3, 4, OFF, 1, 2, 3, 4, OFF, etc.

Page 9

External Alarm Output

The External Alarm signal output (+5V, 10mA max) is Factory preset on Terminal (C) (wiring terminal on back of gauge). This signal voltage will be preset when Alarm Limits are “armed” (enabled) and either LOW or HIGH alarm limit is met and exceeded. This signal voltage might be used to illuminate a LED type warning light on your panel (10mA max current), or to control one of our ER-1A remote relay should a higher amperage draw device be desired.

Viewing/Changing Display Damping

To help prevent frequent fluctuations in the MAP60-A display, it can be damped user preference. If you wish the display to respond more quickly, or more slowly, you can alter the display damping value between 1-254. ADI presets it to 150. (The higher the value, the slower the display responds to change).
