Facility Locations is mainly concerned with

the solution of problems revolving around

optimal placement of facilities in order to

minimize transportation costs, avoid placing

They have two manufacturing plants in Delhi/NCR. One is located with their head office at Karampura, New Delhi and the other is located at Bahadurgarh, Rohtak Road. 1. MATERIAL PURCHASED

Material is purchased through vendors, and is

tested in labs.

The raw material goes through the following tests,

to test the purity:

1. Spectro Analysis

2. Microscopic Structural Analysis

2. PRODUCTION

1. Long bars are cut into smaller pieces.

2. these bars are then machined through Rough

Grinding to remove impurities from the surface of

the raw material.

3. HEAT TREATMENT

1. The tools are heated to 1200˚C

2. They are kept on a temperature of 600˚C for 4

to 5 days.

This step is conducted to strengthen the material

from soft to hard.

It is a very crucial step as it is difficult to hold

control on the temperature.

4. TESTING

The tools are again tested to check if the heating

treatment was done properly. These tests include :

1. Hardness Testing

2. Micro Structure Testing

5. FINISHED GRINDING PROCESS

Tools are converted into finished goods on grinding

machine

This is again followed by a number of tests to check

for any distortion or cracks.

In case of any defects, the tool is rejected and is

sold off as scrap.

7. MARKING & PACKING

The finished goods are then packed for distribution

through a channel of wholesalers.
