Key Elements: • Rigorous academics • Immersive and hands-on learning • GPSEd Manufacturing Youth Apprentice • Program model to link related high school courses, post-secondary offerings, and industry standards and credentials. 1st Semester: In Class/ Virtual Work readiness • Employability development • Related curriculum • Online preparation for WBL • Industry credentials and badging • Employer engagement and onboarding • Career exploration activities •Application and interviews 2nd Semester: On-site WBL experience/apprenticeship start • Paid WBL experience with trained mentors • Concurrent related curriculum • Competency-based training plans • Industry credentials •Post-secondary alignment • Assessments & reviews This accelerated learning program prepares students for advanced positions beyond entry-level employment. • Businesses and educators to create training programs that meet real-world employment needs and competencies • On-the-job training: students are able to develop essential hard and soft skills • Prepare students to be productive citizens as well as prepare them to be career- and college-ready Students will have the opportunity to earn technical college credits and/or credentials, increasing matriculation to post-secondary education The Advanced Manufacturing Pilot program will combine technical education and paid work-based learning opportunities for seniors. Students balance academics with real-world experience by spending part of the day in a classroom and the other part working directly with a business partner. REGIONAL INITIATIVE

Regional initiative to design and execute a school district driven work-based learning model to support student success, pathways to meaningful careers, and serve our businesses and communities. This model would include many industry pathways over multiple years and include local school districts represented by DuPage Regional Office of Education. It will include active support and involvement from an ecosystem of aligned and committed partners from education, business and industry, local and state government, nonprofits, and community based organizations.

Design, build, and execute a collaborative, sustainable School District driven work-based learning model to support and address:

• Diversity, Access and Equity for ALL students • Multiple Industry Pathways• Related Curriculum and Credentials • Student Support, Progress, and Assessments• Aligned to Post-Secondary - Technical/Community Colleges
