The service procedures recommended by Haier and described in this service manual are effective methods of performing service operations. Some of these service operations require the use of tools specially designed for the purpose. The special tools should be used when and as recommended.

Accordingly, a servicer who uses a service procedure or tool which is not recommended by Haier must first satisfy himself thoroughly that neither his safety nor the safe operation of the equipment will be jeopardized by the service method selected. Take care during handling the LCD module with backlight unit -Must mount the module using mounting holes arranged in four corners. -Do not press on the panel, edge of the frame strongly or electric shock as this will result in damage to the screen. -Do not scratch or press on the panel with any sharp objects, such as pencil or pen as this may result in damage to the panel. -Protect the module from the ESD as it may damage the electronic circuit (C-MOS). -Make certain that treatment person’s body is grounded through wristband. -Do not leave the module in high temperature and in areas of high humidity for a long time. -Avoid contact with water as it may a short circuit within the module. -If the surface of panel becomes dirty, please wipe it off with a soft material. (Cleaning with a dirty or rough cloth may damage the panel.)

2.1 The Use of Remote Control

POWER Press to power ON/OFF (standby) TV. Note: The TV is never completely powered off unless physically unplugged. TV, DVD, STB, CABLE, VCR, AUD Select one of the system modes in which the remote control can be used. PICTURE Press to change the picture mode: Standard, Eco, Movie, Personal, Vivid. AUDIO Press to change the audio mode: Standard, Music, Speech, Personal. PC Press to change the input to PC mode. HDMI Press to directly change the input to the last HDMI input. Press to switch to other HDMI input when current source is HDMI. 0 ~ 9 / • number Press to enter a TV channel number (Press "•" to choose the sub-channel). INPUT Press to show the input source list. Use the up and down arrow keys to select a source, and then press the ENTER key. MUTE Switch the sound on/off. RECALL Press to display the previous channel. VOL+ / VOL Press to adjust volume. CHΛ / CH V Press to browse through the TV channels.MENU Press to enter or exit the menu. 7. Adjustment 7.1 ADC Adiustment It’s no need to adjust the white balance for this model, do ADC only. Step1: Turn on the TV, press “Menu”, then press number key 1 9 9 9 and “ENTER”, it will achieve the factory

mode. Take the following picture for example:

Step2: Change TV, press the “Current Source” to Component mode and change signal to 720P mode(TIMING 314),

Pattern 122(SMPTE BAR), press the “Auto Color”;

Step3: Change TV, press the “Current Source” to PC mode and change signal to PC TIMING 137(1024X768);

Pattern 147 (16 Grays), press the “Auto Color”.

7.2 FW Upgrade Step 1: Ready for F/W Upgrade 1.1 Prepare a USB memory (The file system of USB memory must be FAT16 or FAT 32). 1.2 Copy the file from your computer to the folder named “usbupdate" then copy this folder to USB memory root path, and remove it from computer’s USB port! Take the LE22H168 for example:

Note: 1) 2) The version of this F/W is V1.09. 3) Make sure there is only one F/W file in your USB memory.

2.6 When upgrade 100% and prompt for Upgrade Success info, remove the USB Drive and AC off and on to reset TV (Figure 2.10)

3.2 Check the F/W version on the fifth row of the factory mode info(eg,the “Ver” info is V1.09). If F/W version is incorrect, please check the version of F/W in your USB memory, else let’s go to Step 3.3. Take the LE22H168 for example:
