Part - A

PREFACE

Govt. Degree college of Arts and Science, a co-education Institution in the Guna District of

Chachoda-Binaganj. It was established in 1984 by MP Government of higher education. This catering

to the need of the community in a comparatively educationally backward district of Guna.

The college is affiliated to Jiwaji University Gwalior and it offers 2 UG courses & 2 PG courses.

The college is situated on a sprawling and compus of ………. acres of land in Chachoda-Binaganj

bordering National Highway No. 3 (Agra, Bombay Road). The college has cluster of beautiful and

spacius building with state of the Arts class room, Science laboratories, Computer laboratories, Sport

fielding ground and Play ground.

The college secured the status of under section 2(F) & 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956. This report

is prepared as per the guidelines laid in the manual of NAAC.

The NAAC steering committee of the college includes the following faculty members:

Govt. College Chachoda-Binaganj Guna(M.P.) Progress of the college

(Summary) 1. Strength of Student of our College was 2014-15 in 584 but now the strength is 722 the

year 2015-16.

2. The result of various faculty are very good (60%-80%) some students got position in

Jiwaji University Gwalior (M.P.).

3. Raging less college there is no case of raging in our college till now.

4. Our staff members including guest faculties are character wise sound. Lack of

faculty in our college but performance is best.

5. In sport Students achievements m various sport activities in national level.

6. There is no case of women exploitation in our college. Personality development

programme Directed by Higher Education, organized time to time, but m our college

many programme organized by the Ramchandra mission.

7. As a Nodal college our staff member checked the forms of scholarship SC, ST,

OBC in limit of time very well.

8. Many Exams are conducted such as vyapam, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedik Jabalpur

Univeristy Examination, including the Jiwaji University Gwalior exam without any

complaint.

9. 100 NSS. students in a company in our college and many students got best cadet

certificate and shield by the minister of MP government. Many student passed the ‘B’ and

‘C’ certificate in last 4 years.

10. Two N.S.S. students went to Jasalmer and Badnem Rajsthan in national group of Ma

Tujhe Pranam. One NSS Student went to panchamadi in national advancer camp.

11. N.S.S. camp of our college held every in backward villages year for 7 days to 10 days

day and night since 7 year.

12. This year in N.S.S. camp target of the N.S.S. students cleanliness and toilet in village.

District administration to camp villages Bhanpurababa 40-50% toilet contraction by the

district panchayat Guna.

13. For the training of student for job oriented organized time to time by the Vivekanand

carrier Counsling Samiti.

14. Blood donation and regular health checkup for the students and staff member have

done by the doctors and lady doctors time to time.

15. To aware the student from Aids and T.B. lectures are organized by hospital’s

employees.

16. One professor a Research guide-for Ph.D. student.

1.1 Curriculum Planning and Implementation

1.1.1 State the vision, mission and objectives of the institution, and describe how these are

communicated to the students, teachers, staff and other stakeholders.

Vision:

The Vision of the College is „to serve the social needs and to uplift the living standards of the

rural youths by imparting higher education adhering not only to national but also international

standards of education and fostering an enduring sense of discipline and single minded dedication to

work‟.

Mission:

By promoting the College into an institution of excellence, which will serve the rural youth by

providing them with easy access to higher education and job opportunities. The college will strive

towards integrated personality, growth of rural student in particular and students at large in which

special attention is given to their intellectual, moral and cultural development.

Objectives of the Institution:

The following objectives are identified to fulfill the Visio and Mission of the College.

To uplift the rural youth with good education.

To develop transformation in rural youth into educationally, morally, culturally and spiritually

The institution directs all the departments and staff members to prepare a lesson plan for each

subject and to follow accordingly.

The records of class work to be maintained by the staff members and it is monitored by the

Heads of the Department.

Each faculty member has to prepare the study material and notes of lesson which will be

distributed to the students for their academic preparation.

The college is affiliated to Jiwaji University Gwalior. The university provides the entire

course syllabus, text books and reference books detail, question pattern, list of practical

experiments / titles / programs etc., which enables the teacher to follow the curriculum for

each semester.

Whenever there is any change in the curriculum design, the university sends the details to its

affiliated colleges.

As the university follows choice based credit system, the students will be given the choice for

choosing the elective subjects and other non major elective courses.

Curriculum is designed by Jiwaji University Gwalior, and the affiliating colleges have to

strictly follow it. Our faculty who are members of University Board of studies are involved in

The institution motivates the departments to take the students to industrial visit which relates

their subject ( History, Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Bio, etc.,)

1.3.3 Enumerate the efforts made by the institution to integrate the cross cutting issues such as

The college runs co-education system. Both boys and girls are admitted. To avoid cross cut

issues such as gender, climate change etc., the

following committees are formed and the duty of the committee is to monitor and take care of the

students when they are in trouble.

1. Anti-Ragging Committee – To protect the girls and boys from the harmful activities of the seniors.

In such cases, as per ragging act severe action will be taken against them. In our case no such case has

been registered so far.

3. Library facilities with the latest books and Journals are also extended to the students. Internet

facilities are also provided to augment their knowledge.

1.3.4. What are the various value-added courses/enrichment programmes offered to ensure

holistic development of students?

The institution offers programmes like NSS, Career Guidance & Placement where students

can join to add moral and ethical values to their life.

National Social Service Scheme(NSS) renders service to the nearby villages with our 1 units

of NSS volunteers both boys and girls camping in the villages and cleaning the villages,

creating and conducting awareness programmes on adult literacy.

Red Ribbon Club(RRC) makes the students to create awareness on AIDS in the society and

other community orientation programmes.

enriching the curriculum?

The institution has a mechanism of collecting feedback from students about the evaluation on

teaching and syllabus completion. Students performance reportareanalyzed and corrective measures

representatives and a chairman nominated by Govt., this body generates funds

from fee collected from the students for functions for overall development of the

state govt. observed 2011-12 as quality year and 2012-13 as quality extension year,

it emphasizes self evaluation by teachers conducting zero classes at beginning of

the session, language improvement promoting awareness for protection of

environment etc. As per the instruction of higher authorities it is driven and

reviewed time to time.

The internal organizational structure consists of the principal being the Head of the institution and

all administrative and financial powers are exercised by him. But she forms different committees

such as purchasing committee, sports committee, cultural committee, time table committee,

physical verification committee etc. to execute the works and to advise and suggest him. There is

also a Janbhagidari Samiti, a body of local representatives formed by the govt. that plays a vital

role in development of the institution. It is headed by a Chairman and the Principal is of it. IQAC

(Internal Quality Assurance Cell) headed by the Principal is also an important constituent in the

organization. Departmental Heads and In charge of various wings are also a part of the decision

making process. However, the Principal is the final authority in the decision making process and

he is also guided by the Higher authorities.

The Department Of Higher Education issues a self appraisal Performa known as “Academic

Performance Index.”

The faculty members are appraised on the basis of their performance in teaching and evaluation

work, assistance to students besides teaching, organization of and participation in seminars, workshops,

research publications and other assignments entrusted to them, e.g examination, by the head of the

institution. The principal constitutes a committee to examine and award marks allotted for the teacher’s

performance in different activities. The appraisal report is forwarded by the principal to the Additional

Director and further, to the office of the Commissioner, Department of Higher Education for final review

and promotion of the teacher.

The institution does not have any mechanism to review or communicate the outcome of the

The various welfare schemes available for teaching and non-teaching staff are study leave

for research work, maternity and paternity leave, green card benefits, loan facilities

(housing loan, educational loan, festival loan, vehicle loan, and medical loan), medical

reimbursement etc. GPF (General Provident Fund) is a noble scheme that provides

financial security to the staff.

faculty?

Since the institution is not autonomous and is bound by the transfer policies of the

Department of Higher Education, M.P., Faculty members are retained in the college as per

govt. orders. However, the institution takes all quality sustenance measures to make it an

institution of excellence, so that, eminent faculties would like to join it. Regular faculties

of the institution are paid salary as per UGC rules and have job security.

Govt. the cash books. The amalgamated fund, P.D., the scholarship and transportations

Janbhagidari college development fee from students and rent charge on occasions for

infrastructure provided to other agencies. Our institution is a govt. institution governed by

Deptt. Of Higher Education Govt. of Madhya Pradesh. Major funding is provided by the

government. Receipt in the institution is mainly obtained by the tution fee of the students. It is

notable that tution fee of female students are waived by the government. As such, deficit is

council under the Chairmanship of the Principal to clarify our working approach marking

strength and weakness. When a new programme is introduced University authority visits

the institution and inspects the existing facility. Analysis of exams result and the existing

academic and infrastructure and preparing the AQAR (Annual Quality Assurance Report)

are also academic audits.
