    1 1 Features1 Features

    BTC-4300 Fuzzy Logic plus PID microprocessor-based controller, incorporates a bright,easy to read 4-digit LED display, indicating process value. The technologyenables a process to reach a predetermined set point in the shortest time, with theminimum of overshoot during power-up or external load disturbance. The units arehoused in a 1/4 DIN case, measuring 96 mm x 96 mm with 53 mm behind panel depth.The units feature three touch keys to select the various control and input parameters.Using a unique function, you can put at most 5 parameters in front of user menu by using

    contained in the setup menu. This is particularly useful to OEM's as it is easyto configure menuto suit the specific application.

    The programming port is used for off-line automatic setup and testing

    Proper sensor installation can eliminate many problems in a control system. T heprobe should be placed so that i t can detect any temperature change with

    minimal thermal lag. In a process that requires fairly constant heat output, theprobe shoul d be pl aced cl osed t o t he heat er. In a process w here t he heatd e m a n d i s v a r i a b l e , t h e p r o b e s h o u l d b e c l o s e d t o t h e w o r k a r e a . S o m eexperiments with probe location are often required to find this optimum position.

    In a liquid process, addition of a stirrer will help to eliminate thermal lag. Sincethe thermocouple is basically a point measuring device, placing more than onethermocouple in paral lel can provide an average temperature readout andproduce better results in most air heated processes.

    P r o p e r s e n s o r t y p e i s a l s o a v e r y i m p o r t a n t f a c t o r t o o b t a i n p r e c i s emeasurements. The sensor must have the correct temperature range to meetthe process requirements. In special processes the sensor might need to have
