    the funeral of one of the kindest and

    bravestof his

    boys,

    and he paid the

    of a commander. Better than all, how

    ever, Colonel Doan

    that

    interview which he hod with the de-

    censed

    last

    December,

    he

    was satisfied

    that all waswell with Luke, and that

    his afflictions here had workedout for

    him a far more exceeding and eternal

    weight of glory.

    At the closeof Judge Doan's fitting

    were bomo from the hull, and the sol
