Shridevi Institute of Engineering & Technology is started by the trust in the year

2002. Dr. M.R. Hulinaykar is a surgeon by profession and is the Managing

Director of Shridevi Hospital and Diagnostic Centre of 200 beds which is the

leading hospital started by him in Tumkur city. Under his leadership, the trust is

also running a host of educational institutions starting from primary to collegiate

education offering B.Ed., D.Ed., Nursing, Paramedical, Engineering courses, etc.

He is a philanthropist dignity in personality epitomized with“Service &

Development” as his hymn. He is the member of Legislative Council of Karnataka

since 2010.

Director Member Secretary.

Dr.K.Kashinath Sastry has put in a total 37 years of service as a teacher and 3

years as tool room engineer. Basically a mechanical engineer did his M.Tech

from IIT Madras, and then did his MBA from IGNOU. In the year 2007 he got his

Ph.D in Management from Sri Krishnadevaraya University. He was the member

BOE and chairman for the dept of Industrial Engineering Management from

Bangalore University. He has academically involved in many activities of

Bangalore, Mysore and Visvesvaraya Technological University when he was

working as a teaching staff.

10.10 Student feedback mechanism on Institutional Governance/faculty

performance

Student’s feedback is obtained from the students by asking them to fill the blank

feedback forms and to submit to the co-ordinators. The co-ordinator with the

data available in the forms analysis the performance of the staff members and

submits it to the Director for further action. The Director after getting the

feedback, calls indivudally, the staff members whose performance is not up to

the mark. Then the Councilling is done and some tips are given to the staff

members to improve their performance. This process is continued for every

semester.

The Grievance redressal will be discussed in the council based on the report on

the staff, submitted by the students and the feedback from the staff. The

effective decision taken by the Governing Council will be implemented by the

10.14 ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY FOR PG (MBA)

Candidates who have passed any undergraduate examination with requisite

marks. (However for the course MBA in ‘Infrastructure Management’ Graduates in

all disciplines of Engineering, including architecture or equivalent degree with 50%

marks in aggregate (covering all the years of studies) are only eligible)

Admission to Master of Business Administration course shall be open for the

candidates who have passed the Bachelor Degree examination with not less than

fifty percent of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree

examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to

SC/ST and Category-I, the aggregate percentage of marks of all the years of the

qualifying examinations shall not be less than forty-five percent.

10.18 Counseling / Mentoring:

Each student of our college is taken care of for all round development with the most

congenial atmosphere. Each teacher is allocated a batch of students to be taken of

by counseling. The counseling system is adopted has developed a discipline in the

ambience and each student is known to the teacher. The continues report of

students’ progress in studies and academic oriented activities is sent to the parents

regularly.

Career Counseling : The institution has a Training and Placement cell

for conducting activities like interviews, special lecturers, workshops, group

discussions, personality development programmes etc., The cell promotes industry

institute interaction, organization of industrial training and gets the sponsored

projects from the industry.

Value added courses, soft skills development programmes, Industrial visits,

expert lectures, entrepreneurship awareness camp, competitive exams etc., have

been organized regularly by the cell.

Medical facilities: Doctors will be available from 4- 6 pm in the boys and girls

hostel for the clinical check-ups. The trust owns a hospital which provides 24 hours

medical service and students can avail the medical facilities.
