“MLDP grants participants the opportunity to learn from well-versed speakers and achieved individuals in their career field. MLDP is the only program that I’m aware of at Dartmouth of its class and caliber. It combines seemingly disparate yet valuable topics and skills into one complete package centered on vital aspects of management and leadership.” —CJ Hughes ’14
“MLDP is a great place to learn about leadership. It definitely brings to the forefront your weaknesses and strengths as a leader giving you tools to become even more effective. I would definitely recommend it to any student who has a passion for self-improvement and growth!” —Mahnum Shahzad ’15

“MLDP has helped me better understand myself as a leader and follower. I gained valuable leadership and management skills from my involvement and also had the opportunity to develop good relationships with several of the other participants. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in improving their leadership styles and management skills while meeting cool people and engaging in interactive activities.” —Renata Hegyi ’16
What is MLDP?
MLDP is offered every fall, winter, and spring term. Students are invited to register at any time during the academic year but must note the deadlines at the end of each registration cycle.
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors in any course of study are welcome to participate in this program.
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Up to 60 students may participate in the program during any given term.
Students are encouraged to apply with their peers and fellow team members from athletics, campus organizations, Greek life, and/or other organizations.
The Management and Leadership Development Program (MLDP) is a one-term program designed to develop citizen leaders among sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Dartmouth College. Led by expert guest speakers each week, sessions engage students through hands-on learning of core management and leadership skills. Participants work individually and in small groups to develop practical skills that they can apply immediately to their leadership roles in campus organizations, internships, projects, and in their careers.
MLDP will provide participants with ample opportunities to further engage with the Rockefeller Center, during and after completing the program.
Successful completion of MLDP is a prerequisite to become a paid student assistant at the Rockefeller Center and/or participate in the Rockefeller Global Leadership Program. MLDP will also strengthen students’ applications for Rockefeller Center funding for unpaid internships in the field of public policy and other Rockefeller Center programs, such as the Rockefeller Leadership Fellows Program.
