The Minot Adult Learning Center--Where the Journey Continues

Check out what’s going on at MALC during the ’15 - ’16 school year...

GED

For individuals working toward their GED. Courses include math, language arts, social studies, and open lab times.

ELL

Non-native English speaking individuals will learn skills necessary to succeed as workers, citizens, and lifelong learners. Coursework will focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking.

AR

The Academic Review program is for individuals who already have a GED or high school diploma but would like to improve their math and/or reading skills.

A System of SessionsThis year at MALC, courses will be taught over five sessions. All students are required to participate in a 2-day registration/assessment before attending classes. The first day of registration will be for assessment and the second for orientation to MALC and our programs. You can find a list of dates and times for registration on the back of this flyer. MALC as an official Pearson Vue GED testing site and will be open most Tuesdays throughout the year.

ESL

Beginner 1 9 - 11:45am T, W, Th

Beginner 2 12:20 - 2:30pm T, W, Th

Intermediate 9 - 11:45am T, W, Th

Advanced 12:20 - 2:30pm T, W, Th

ACES

The Achieving Customized Employment Skills program is for individuals who are changing careers or have been out of the workplace for an extended period of time. Course includes resume building, computer training, interview skills, soft skills and job shadowing. Classes will run from 9am - 4pm for 9 business days. Call MALC to find out more.

Additional information:

GED, AR, and ESL courses are offered free to all registered students. Because space is limited, students will be expected to attend class on a regular basis. Any student with more than two unexcused absences will be asked to continue his/her studies in the next session.
