Documental que dibuja un retrato del economista y activista Arcadi Oliveres a lo largo de dos años clave en una biografía apasionante: de las luchas estudiantiles contra la dictadura de Franco, a los movimientos antiglobalización, la creación del Foro Social Mundial y el movimiento de los indignados. Una roadmovie que aúna la lucha colectiva de la “Spanish Revolution” con la soledad evangelizadora contra el capital. Del estruendo de las masas de una sociedad en el abismo a la lucha individual de un hombre por superar los escollos de la condición humana.

The room smells of old paper, there are piles of books and dust fills the space. Hours of reading, dissection, comparing and analysis accumulate in piles of newspapers. A man hidden among them works constantly to find out the truth and lies contained in the information pages. Arcadi Oliveres sitting in his Renault 19 and looking up an old street directory travels thousands of kilometres weekly to spread the idea that another world is possible, that there are economical alternatives to deal with the actual situation. He breaks out when he explains his claims against the powerful and he is relaxed on Sunday having dinner with his family. A whole life of fighting makes Arcadi a beacon for the social movements that claim that a better world is possible. His life is a real life. He doesn't consider himself a film character. Nevertheless he has all the ingredients to be a protagonist. To be continued...

Mientras, las laderas del embalse se han deslizado en siete ocasiones, la última hace dos semanas, poniendo en riesgo las poblaciones aguas abajo… y su presupuesto ha pasado de 113,5 a 400 millones de euros. Recientemente, y tras expropiar 103 viviendas en proceso de ruina debido a las obras, el presidente de la Confederación Hidrográfica del Ebro ha garantizado la total seguridad del proyecto. ¿Qué pensaría de todo esto René Petit, el ingeniero franquista que construyó la presa en 1959?

Ezequiel, un adolescente de 15 años, trabaja de forma ilegal en una ferretería. La situación en su casa es difícil, su padre lleva mucho tiempo desempleado. En las mismas calles Manolito, un delincuente común, tiene atemorizados a los jóvenes locales por su temperamento complicado. Por otro lado Federico, viudo y abuelo de la estanquera del barrio, se siente mayor y cree que no tiene nada que ofrecer a la vida.

Nopoki 'yo vengo' es la historia de una Universidad intercultural bilingüe para indígenas que existe en medio de la Selva Amazónica del Perú. Decir que la educación es fundamental no es nada nuevo. Que sin conocimiento con dificultad se madura tampoco. Que un franciscano croata afincado en estos lugares desde hace cuarenta años ponga en marcha un proyecto de tal envergadura sí lo es. Nopoki es el sueño de los pueblos indígenas hecho realidad gracias a la tenacidad y el convencimiento de Monseñor Zerdín. Significa 'yo vengo' y hasta allí llegan nativos de todo el país para aprender, para mejorar, para ayudar a que sus comunidades no desaparezcan, a conservar su cultura, a valorar sus tradiciones, su lengua. Esta es una comedia optimista sobre cómo un grupo de amigos, en sus 40, encaran los cambios a los que se enfrenta la sociedad actual. In June 2012, Paco de Lucía set out on an 11-day tour of Europe. What began as a follow-up of his routines as an artist evolved to become an introspective journey through his past, his memory, the keys to his revolution of flamenco music. The comings and goings in a symbolic day in his tour, from daybreak until Paco and his musicians finish their concert, provide the backbone to the history of one of the 20th century's most important musicians. This is not only a physical record of a tour by Paco de Lucía, but a voyage to his soul: to his memories, to the things that torment him, interest him or make him laugh openly. By means of flashbacks and with himself as the sole narrator, Paco de Lucía takes a chronological look at his life from childhood until his last days in Mallorca, where he completed the final arrangements for his posthumous CD.

Este documental, en el que el mismo Pérez-Dolz hace un repaso de su carrera profesional, también se convierte en un retrato de la industria cinematográfica catalana de la etapa clásica. Desde que en 1941 se inició en el cine como meritorio de cámara y ayudante de operador, Pérez-Dolz ha intervenido en unos sesenta filmes (entre otras, obras de Julio Salvador, Rovira Beleta y Miquel Iglesias). En 1963, se pasó a la dirección con "A tiro limpio", un filme que lo consagró como un hombre clave del cine policíaco barcelonés. Su paso por el mundo de la publicidad y la docencia cinematográfica en el centro ESCAC son el punto y final a toda una vida dedicada al cine.

This documentary, in which Pérez-Dolz himself gives an overview of his professional career, also becomes a portrait of the Catalan film industry of the classical era. Since he began in 1941 in the cinema as meritorious and assistant camera operator, Pérez-Dolz has intervened in some sixty films (among others, the works of Julio Salvador, Rovira Beleta and Miquel Iglesias). In 1963 he directed “A Tiro Limpio”, a film which enshrined him as a key director in barcelona thrillers. His passage through the world of advertising and teaching at ESCAC are the centre point and end to a whole life dedicated to the cinema.

Carlos, un hombre pacífico, ve alterada su vida cuando, Marta, una niña de 13 años, se cruza en el camino de su hijo Pablo y comienza a extorsionar, primero al niño y después al padre. Incapaz de defenderse, se ve envuelto en una serie de situaciones angustiosas que le llevan a una respuesta desproporcionada. El país del miedo indaga en el origen de nuestros temores como una fuente de dominación que nos obliga a aceptar formas abusivas de protección.

The Country of Fear looks into our worst fears and how the may and up becoming the source of different forms of domination. Such fears can lead us to accept overprotective behaviour. They can also make us turn into more defensive, vulnerable and self-destructive beings. Carlos suspects that his son Pablo, who has just begun high school, is being harassed by a girl in his class. For a series of reasons, Marta, the bully, aged 13, ends up extorting him. No one knows about this except for the victim and her aggressor, so they are both accomplices of a painful and embarrassing situation. Carlos's anxiety and his inability to deal with this conflict lead him to take wrong decisions, which only serve to make matters worse.

Hacia 1980, un joven empezó a grabar canciones tradicionales casi olvidadas de las comarcas centrales del País Valenciano, unas canciones que entonces sólo recordaban los más viejos, hoy desaparecidos. En 2006 un buen amigo le animó a grabar un álbum en solitario y a subir a los escenarios con estas piezas recogidas 25 años antes. Entonces se reveló un carisma inédito, una voz poderosa y un arte que evoca las raíces más profundas. Y el público respondió como quizás no lo había hecho nunca antes con un artista similar en los Países Catalanes. Esta es la historia de un hombre y su estima por un pequeño país, por su cultura y su lengua silenciadas, y por las personas que viven y vivieron allí.

In 1980, a young man began to record the nearly forgotten traditional songs of Valencia, songs only remembered by the region’s most elderly people, who were born before the time of the radio and who have now disappeared. In 2006, a friend encouraged him to record a solo album and perform the pieces he had compiled 25 years earlier. The result? The revelation of an untapped charisma, a powerful voice and a performance evocative of the region’s deepest roots. And the audience responded perhaps as never before. This is the story of a man and his love for a small country, for its forgotten culture and language, and for the people who live and once lived there.

La Trini, bailadora mundialmente conocida, abandona los tablaos sumida en una gran depresión tras la muerte de su esposo Gregorio. Por si fuera poco, su hijo Damián empieza a dar signos de demencia, poseído por un travieso diablo que le hace cometer las fechorías más divertidas y crueles. Al borde de una ataque de nervios, la Trini contacta con el Padre Lenin, cura vasco repudiado por la iglesia y que está atravesando una crisis de fe.

Since the death of her husband, the great bullfighter Gregorio, in a domestic accident, Trini, the world-famous flamenco dancer, has been deeply depressed and has abandoned the stage. To make matters worse, her son Damian's rebelliousness has begun to border on dementia. Doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists are all unable to explain the child’s worsening behaviour. Eventually the only possible explanation is a supernatural one. At this juncture, Trini gets in contact with Father Lenin, a defrocked priest who is suffering his own crisis of faith.

Marta, a young woman in her early 30s, moves into a new apartment with her boyfriend. But that very night, she finds herself home alone. The building is newly constructed and few of the other residents have even moved in. Everything is quiet, empty... until someone knocks violently on her door. It is one of her neighbors with a 10-year old son, Daniel. Hysterical, the woman explains that her husband was just in a car accident and is in critical condition at the hospital. She begs her to watch the boy for a few hours until a family member can come pick him up. Who could deny a mother who is in anguish? But the hours go by and no one comes to pick up the boy. And Daniel’s behavior becomes increasingly unstable and perturbing. Daniel insists that there is another child in the apartment. A child that Marta cannot see. The relationship with Daniel becomes increasingly strained and violent, leading to an ending that Marta could never have thought possible. An ending that will make her confront what she fears most.

2014 - EL QUINTO JINETE. UNA VISIÓN DE LA I GUERRA MUNDIAL POR VICENTE BLASCO IBÁÑEZ

Vicente Blasco Ibáñez escribe la novela Los cuatro jinetes del Apocalipsis, entre el otoño de 1915 y la primavera de 1916, cuando las tropas aliadas defendían en el frente del Marne el acoso del imperio alemán en plena Guerra Mundial. Observamos a Blasco Ibáñez en su estudio de la rue Rennequin de París, cómo va escribiendo los artículos periodísticos a favor de los aliados, su estado de ánimo, las disputas con su editor, la visita que el Presidente de la República francesa le facilita al frente del Marne y a Reims, la persecución que sufre por sus ideas, y cómo ello va orquestando la escritura de la novela. Una realizadora de televisión se ha propuesto desentrañar la madeja de opiniones, documentos e imágenes que envuelven al escritor de cara a un encargo para la conmemoración del inicio de la I Guerra Mundial. Para ello tiene que documentarse, realizar entrevistas a personalidades relacionadas con las dos versiones cinematográficas de 1921 y 1962, a expertos sobre la obra de Blasco Ibáñez y grabar con su equipo en localizaciones como Valencia, París, Londres y Los Ángeles. Con imágenes de fondode la I y II Guerra Mundial, la abundancia de documentos y el apoyo del final cut, se va desgranando la historia. Clara, la realizadora, debe lidiar con las contradicciones de las opiniones que encuentra a su paso, los ataques de los detractores y las decisiones que se ve obligada a tomar para hallar la objetividad e imparcialidad en un escritor tan controvertido como apasionante.

Vicente Blasco Ibáñez wrote the novel The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from autumn 1915 to spring 1916 while the Allied Forces were fighting the advance of the German empire at the Battle of the Marne in World War I. We hear Blasco Ibáñez, in his study in rue Rennequin in Paris, as he writes his newspaper articles and describes his state of mind, his conflicts with his editors, his meeting with the President of France – who made it possible for him to go to the battle fronts at the Marne and Reims, the price he paid for his ideas, and how he orchestrated the writing of his novel. We see how a T.V. producer, charged with commemorating the start of WWI, set out to unravel the tangle of opinions, documents and images surrounding this author. Accomplishing this required much research and conducting interviews with all of the people connected to the 1921 and 1962 movie adaptations, as well as with scholars who specialize in the works of Blasco Ibáñez. It also required filming on location in Valencia, London, Paris, Los Angeles. Against a final cut collage of images of WWI and WWII and a vast amount of documentation, we witness a story that focuses on the contradictory opinions surrounding this author and on the decisions needed to judge such a controversial and passionate author with both objectivity and impartiality.
