Overview The software that I used for my survey was survey monkey which is an online

survey which I could e- mail out to people, put on my blog and share on

Facebook, these were three ways I received my results.

My questionnaire consist of six question that the had to answer buy clicking on

the answer that relates to them. Also included a multi- selection so that they could

select as many answers as they want if they could not make their mind up.

Question 1 Question 1 was very straight

forward as it asked the reader

what gender they were as this

would tell me which gender buys

the most magazines. By looking at

my questionnaire the gender that

buys the most magazine is

females, which is surprising as I

thought that males would by the

most magazines. However

between both of these genders

there is not a lot of difference

between them in the results that

are shown but it is clear to see

that females buy the mist

magazines. If will make me rethink

my target audience as originally it

was going to be for males but by

looking at these results I may aim

my magazine at both of these

genders.

Question 2 Question 2 asked the reader how old they

were in order for me to see which age

range buys the most magazines. By looking

at my questionnaire I can see that the most

popular age range that buys magazine is

people above the age of 14 and under 21.

This I feel is a good age range for my

magazine as it will attract their attention as it

will appeal to them and have the

conventional layout that they will be

expecting. Also my target audience for my

magazine was round about 13- 18 years old

and my questionnaire research matches

this. This will also make it easier to write my

story as I can use language that they will

understand and write my story in a casual

way to keep them reader my story as if I

wrote it in a formal style then they would get

bored and nit read my story or magazine at

all.

Question 3 Question 3 on my questionnaire asked

people what their favorite genre of

music is , this will be useful as it will

show me what music genre is popular

with the people today. In my

questionnaire I can see that the most

popular genre of music within my

questionnaire was rock which is good

as my magazine is going to be rock

genre based, which means to me that it

will be a popular magazine and I will

also make a profit from my magazine

as this is what my magazine results

show. Furthermore I was very

surprised that the genre rock was very

popular as personally I thought that I

was going to be pop as this is the

current genre that gets played and

listened to a lot.

Question 4 Question 4 asked people asked the

reader how often they buy

magazines as it would be ideal if I

could see if people still buy

magazines today as I would then

know if I would make a profit from

my magazine. From my

questionnaire I can see that in can

see that most of the people that I

asked tended to buy magazines

once in a while which could have

an effect on how many of my

magazine get sold within every

week as my magazine is going to

be published weekly as I would feel

that people would be waiting to long

to read a magazine that is

published monthly.

Question 5 Question 5 asked people how much

they spend on a magazine as this will

make me think if my magazine is a

reasonable price or not and if people

will be happy paying that price. By

looking at m questionnaire results I

can see that most people who buy

magazine tend to pay around one to

two pound and three to four pound on

their magazine. For my magazine I will

not be charging this much as I think

that people will not buy my magazine

if it is expensive, therefore I am

charging £1- £3.99 for my magazine

as I think that this is a reasonable

price to pay for a magazine of any

kind.

Question 6 The final question that I asked was what

was the reader favorite bit of a magazine this was a multi- selection and I also added a other box where the person could write what they like to read in magazine if I have not given it in the selections choice. The favorite part of the magazine that people most like to read is a tie between news of their favorite bands, chances to win tickets to concerts and festivals, receiving posters of bands in the magazine and reviews of albums live shows and festivals. As these are the favorite sections that the readers like to read I will include these in my magazine as this will make my magazine more popular with the readers this could also make my magazine become more popular as it will feature the section that people most like to read in a magazine.
