WELCOMETO MADRIDOn behalf of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) and la Sociedad Española de Prótesis Estomatológica y Estética (SEPES) we are delighted to announce details of the 26th EAO Annual Scientifi c Meeting and 47 Congreso Anual de SEPES. This will be a joint congress, and will take place in Madrid from October 5th to October 7th, 2017.

This new collaboration will bring together the international audience which has gathered at EAO annual congresses over the past 25 years with specialists from the SEPES community. In addi-tion, the EAO and the Spanish Society of Periodontology (SEPA) have joined forces to organise the fi fth SEPA European Symposium under the aegis of the EAO-SEPES joint meeting. The SEPA Symposium will take place on Saturday October 7th, and will run dedicated sessions through-out the day.

The scientifi c committees of the EAO, SEPES and SEPA have prepared an exciting programme covering several topics which will focus on the question: Twenty-fi ve years of Implant Den-tistry. What have we learned?

The congress programme will feature world-renowned speakers; interactive elements which will involve the audience; and new and innovative formats such as surgical video sessions.

We are also very pleased and honoured to welcome Latin America as a guest region during the congress with the contribution of both Spanish societies SEPES and SEPA. The EAO-SEPES joint meeting will provide a unique opportunity for researchers and clinicians to present their sci-entifi c studies, both as posters and during oral presentation sessions.

The congress will take place in Madrid, close to the city centre, enabling you, your family and friends to enjoy many of the city’s attractions during your visit. On behalf of the EAO-SEPES joint meeting and the EAO-SEPA European symposium, we very much hope you can join us.

We look forward to welcoming you to Madrid for what promises to be an exciting congress.

SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION DURING THE MEETING

Since its inception in the late 1980s, the EAO has been a forum for European researchers and cli-nicians. In recent years, increasing numbers of our members from non-European countries have joined. We are delighted and honoured to wel-come to our ranks so many members from South/Central America, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Asia.

As a mark of our recognition and appreciation of this, and because SEPES and SEPA both also have members from this region, the EAO has cho-sen to welcome Latin America as a guest region during the joint meeting.

Delegates from Latin America (individual coun-tries listed below) will be offered registration fees at discounted rates which are normally reserved for members only, and can register for 290€ instead of 600€ (early bird).

In addition, a section of the exhibition area will be dedicated to a ‘Latin American Corner’ where regional associations can showcase their activ-ities. Cultural events will also be organised to encourage exchange and networking between delegates from different countries.

ISQ as an objective key value for digital workflows and the importance of resonance frequency analysis guiding clinical decisions for complex casesSteven Eckert (USA), Giorgio Tabanella (Italy), Luis Cuadrado (Spain)

Moderator: Marcus Dagnelid (Sweden)

Patient focused Implant Dentistry is changing and protocols especially around immediate loading are being redefined to accommodate the bene-fits of digital planning/ diagnostic tools. There is therefore a need for an objective tool to guide and optimize the whole implant treatment, valid for complex as well as simple cases. These speak-ers represent more than 30 years of combined experience with Osstell and the ISQ scale in daily practice and will in this unique and interactive lecture discuss the process of osseointegration success in various treatment indications, illus-trated by cases and data.

B.O.P.T.: innovative techniques on natural teeth and implantsIgnazio Loi (Italy)

The B.O.P.T. (Biological Oriented Preparation Technique) is a simplified prosthetic procedure that permits to operate in clinical cases already treated at a prosthetic level.

New concepts belonging to this technique will be analysed: the controlled invasion of the sulcus, the adaptation to the emerging profiles and the selective abrasion.

To evidence the long-term stability of the aes-thetic results obtained with B.O.P.T. cases will be shown step by step, as well as follow-ups.

The B.O.P.T. concepts have been transferred to an implant level with the creation of verti-cally millable posts. The soft tissues thickening allows to obtain a greater stability and an excel-lent aesthetic result in the marginal zone. Further evolution has been the realization of a new trans-gingival implant: PRAMA.

New treatment methods in soft tissue managementGiovanni Zucchelli (Italy), Mariano Sanz (Spain), Daniel Thoma (Switzerland)

Moderator: Christoph Hämmerle (Switzerland)

The first part of the Geistlich Symposium will focus on optimal flap designs for soft tissue aug-mentation, key factors for successful healing and current trends on how to handle soft tissue dehiscences. The following presentations will give deeper insights into soft tissue management procedures at implant sites and the coverage of recessions – all in the light of the question: “When do autogenous grafts remain the gold standard – and when can they be replaced by innova-tive biomaterial solutions?” An interactive panel discussion focusing on treatment planning of a clinical case will round off the symposium.

Nobel Biocare Forum – Innovative Treatment Protocols – Shortening Time to Teeth

Why & How are we doing Immediate Implant placements, development and focus on patientJoseph Kan (USA)

The session will cover contemporary clinical solu-tions for shortening time to teeth from immediate single tooth, emerging technology and integrated digital workflow to a new concept to treat the edentulous mandible with fixed definitive bridge in single surgical appointment.

How can digital dentistry facilitate the workflow – from planning to final restoration for optimal outcomes?Leon Pariente (France), Karim Dada (France)
