CALL FOR PAPERS
Globalization has a strong impact upon all aspects ofhuman life around the world, has gradually destroyeddimensions of an ethnic community life, killed itssocial values. The globalization has ignored potentiallocal wisdom and values -- which naturally becometrue values for the potency of ethnic community moving towards a new global homogeneous culture. The globalization makes a great part of worldcommunity homogeneous in almost aspects, amongother things: economic, socio-cultural, political andreligious aspects. There is the erosion of worldcommunitys identity, even there is worryingly
tendency of local wisdom values erosion. Localwisdom actually becomes ethnic identity as well aspotency to balance the globalization.Homogeneity of globalization, however, does not gowell and succeed in enhancing the life and civilizationof the ethnic community. There is globalization inappearance only, because it does not give valueadded to the ethnic community.
Archipelagic Culture embracing all ethnic communitiesin South East Asia has rich and different potentialocal wisdom. It has, for ages, become life guidanceand belief for each ethnic community. Ironically, agreat part of potential local wisdom and values startto be eroded by the globalization. This seminar tries to again map out archipelagicpotential local wisdom in all aspects in facingglobalization.
