Among other things, Hegla presented four cutting

lines, two ReMaster systems and a SortJet in

operation on over 1500m2 of display area. During

glasstec, the machines and systems convinced

customers of their various functions

T hanks to the many innovative machi-nes and systems in

operation, glasstec visitors who stopped at Hegla’s bo-oth were given the chance of experiencing technology live in action. The intere-sted expert audience had the opportunity to get a transparent insight into the technical processes, design and interplay of the various solutions on offer. Tho-se looking for new ideas or production technology found inspiration in a mix of high-tech, high-speed, interconnected processes.

EXPERIENCE THE POSSIBILITIES LIVE“Experience the possibili-ties live” was the motto un-der which the Hegla booth was designed. Hegla CEO Manfred Vollbracht was very pleased with the visi-tor’s interest and feedback he received about the trade fair booth.“We wanted to show what is possible in glass cutting, glass sorting and residual glass handling. Our aim

was not to just talk to our visitors about our pro-ducts, but rather to con-vince them of our original systems’ functions.”From the public interest, one of Hegla’s biggest at-tractions was the automa-tic shape cutting of lami-nated glass. Throughout the course of the trade fair, visitors could see the cut-ting process and its precise results for themselves by watching the live demon-strations held on the Pro-Lam Shape. In this paten-ted process, the laminated glass is picked up with special grippers and moved under the cutting bridge by means of a system control that follows the contours of the cutting plan. To achieve high precision, the cutting heads of the Hegla system are precisely and synchro-nically aligned to the sha-pe contour using separate CNC drives.

at glasstec gave visitors the chance to have a

real-life experience of technical processes, design and interplay of the its

machinery. In this article, we are ‘virtually’ led through the booth to get an idea of what these machines and

systems can do.

sis for an automatic qua-lity control with a scanner system.

AUTOMATIONOne of the main topics of conversation on the booth was automation, be it for individual processes or for complete sequences such as the automatic sorting sy-stem SortJet. “Many of our conversations were about the possibility of adding automation to improve production processes and to increase future compe-titiveness. The aim is to improve the capacity of the existing production and to achieve an even higher le-vel of quality”, said Hegla’s CEO Manfred Vollbracht.

In addition to the satisfac-tion brought by the strong interest in Hegla, glasstec also has a special social significance for Manfred Vollbracht, “Every two ye-ars here in Dusseldorf, we have the chance to meet many esteemed customers and people who are intere-sted in our products, with whom we are in regular contact, but who we do not always have the opportuni-ty to meet in person”.

The ProLam Shape features additional equipment for cutting laminated glass shapes. As with all the systems in the ProLam series, it can be combined in a cutting line with the ReMaster residual sheet storage system to reduce waste costs

systems and in the pro-duction hall, Hegla also introduced the “Clean Blower” at the trade fair. It can be integrated di-rectly into the line in front of the cutting machine. The new “Clean Blower” automatically removes the Lucite which is used for better seperation of the panes from the glass sur-face. Subsequent proces-ses and the working envi-ronment are significantly less contaminated by the Lucite separating agent. Contactless technology cleans the glass gently so that the coating side re-mains intact. At the same time, the removal of the Lucite also fulfils the ba-
