To Whom It May Concern,
Macadoodles has been in business since 1997 in Southwest Missouri. When Macadoodles was
founded,we had one mission: to serve our customers- and to this day, we have not wavered
in our mission. We have stores in Pineville, Branson,Springfield, and Joplin,Missouri as well as
Springdale, Arkansas.
A valuable partner in our business is our wholesaler,Major Brands. This valuable partnership
allows us to have a wider selection of products and they also help control our pricing through
effective management of products. Due to a recent federal courts misinterpretation of
Missouri law, Major Brands,as well as all independent Missouriwholesalers, are under attack
from large,out-of-state mega-wholesalers.
It will be a shame if Major Brands were shut out of Missouri's market by these out of state
mega-wholesalers and the negative impact will have far reaching tentacles. It has been our
experience that prices will escalate when working with mega distributors whose only mission is
profit. When this happens, one of two things must occur: either we must decrease staff or we
must raise our prices.
And let us not forget that small, independent business owners bring a value add to every
community. From the tax revenue we generate, the charities we support,to the people of the
community we employ. It is imperative for every community to have a core base of
independent, profitable businesses. It is also the responsibility of each and every community
to support and encourage new growth.
Major Brands is a Missouri company that employs 700 Missourians all over the state. Not only
do they live and work here, but they are a large part of philanthropic events across the state.
They contribute millions to charities and their employees plan, host, and participate in more
than 100 fund raising events for local charities.

Major Brands has been an integral part of Missouriand now they need our help. The
Legislature can fix the erroneous federal court ruling and keep in place the same, successful
liquor laws we've had since the end of prohibition with legislation. HB 759/SB 365 will simply
clarify the law the federal court misinterpreted.
To keep prices competitive, allow greater selection and keep revenue in the State of
Missouri through a local,Missouri-based company is a win-win for Missourians. I strongly
urge our legislators to pass this legislation and close this loophole.
One final point I would like to make and hopefully all legislators will hear this loud and clear,"It
is going to take small business' to grow and create jobs to fix our economy." This has been the
common theme spoken by most all politicians over the past couple of years!
Today,in the State of Missouri,a small independent package liquor store can compete with the
large grocery chains as well as the mega-retailers such as Walmart. This is possible due to a
level playing field. If Missourilets these "wanted changes" to happen, cost of items will shift
dramatically in favor of the big companies and it will signal the end to all small, independent
retailers as they will pay a higher cost than the "big business" across the state! For once, please
consider small business.
