MacBook Pro Review

Have you ever thought about getting a Macbook Pro? Well if it has ever crossed your mind, this

The 15 and 17 inch Macbook Pro

FaceTime to make full-screen HD video calls that are high quality. (Family and friends will be

envious of the clarity of your webcam)

iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand allow you to create, organize, design and catalogue your

treasured memories.

You also get a backlight keyboard, the keys are programmed to illuminate when the computer

senses that it is in a dimly lit room. Now that’s something you don’t see everyday.

The remarkably sturdy hardware of the MacBook Pro was built by computer numerical control

machines, which are the same machines that create essential parts of spacecraft bodies. The

result is a highly durable, sleek and lightweight design that takes far less material to make than

most other laptop designs.

The new body makes for a lighter notepad and at 5lbs 6oz is lighter than many ladies handbags

(7lb 11oz, Daily Mail). Even the box that holds the Macbook was made with less material so that

there is not as much packaging waste. So getting a new Macbook Pro helps you to go green too.

But Apple has not just stopped there with additional environmentally friendly features

included. It is also arsenic, BFR, mercury and PVC free, making it not only healthy for the

environment, but healthy for you too.

Some of the features that make the MacBook Pro even more user friendly than past MacBook

designs are simple, yet highly original. The trackpad, for example, combines the touchpad and

right and left button in one easy-to-use device. You can do even more with the trackpad than

simply swiping your fingers across it.

The battery life has also been extended, with the 13 inch design lasting up to ten hours, while the

15 and 17 inch designs range from eight to nine hours. This is by far the most battery life of any

laptop or notebook computer.

Apple have put a lot of thought into the new MacBook Pro series, which has made it more user-

friendly and practical for professionals as well as everyday folk.

Are there any problems you need to be worried about?

As with all things mechanical there are always a few minor hiccups.

For all that is good about the new Macbook Pros Apple are still having a few issues to deal with.

It has been reported that the CPU can be noisy. You can get display buzz/whine which seems to

be caused by the brightness of the display. The machines also get very hot, hot enough to make

my hands sweat. Others have complained about a mooing sound which seems to be related to the

temperature issue, a fan that starts and stops.

Some people have complained about a high pitched squeal that goes away if you change the tilt

of the display. Apple are aware of these problems which are an easy fix by all accounts and will

fix them for you free of charge which is well and good but still a bit annoying.

With that said I still think the Macbook Pro series is a good buy but until the issues mentioned

above are fixed I give it a 6.5 out of 10.
