Luwa TexGuard – your comprehensive machine protection

A smooth and safe operation of the blowroom and carding machines requires detection and elimination of con-tamination of differnt kinds of metals in cotton. It also requires detection of sparks that occur at different stages in the blowroom and carding machines.

Prevent fire in the blowroom / carding

At the beginning of spinning production, cotton is processed in the Blowroom, where sparks can occur in any section. The Spark detectors in the selected positions (see B in flow sheet) identifies the hazard immediately, much before a fire can arise. It then initiates the diversion of the spark into a container or a quenching system, and triggers the shutdown of machinery.

Eliminate the risk of fire in the filter

The final risk of fire in the blowroom and carding process is in the filter plant of the waste handling system. The exhaust air from the machines can - besides fiber - also contain sparks especially if the machines are malfunctioning. The special stainless steel pre-filter medium installed prevents the sparks from entering the filter plant (see C in flow sheet) and the sparks are eliminated at the fiber separator line.

Eliminate metallic parts from bale opener

During the bale opening process, metallic parts may appear in thebale and be transported downstream. Metal parts can cause sparksin following processes or damages in cleaning, sorting, mixing and in carding machinery. To safeguard the machinery metallic parts aredetected and diverted into a can or bag. (see A on flow sheet)A so-called speed control ensures that only a minimum of cotton material gets lost.
