Objectives and Overview The 4-Day Course is specifically designed to help periodontists prepare for the oral exam (Part II) for certification by the American Board of Periodontology. The course begins with two and a half days of comprehensive literature review and update followed by one and a half days of mock oral board exams.

The two and a half days of literature review and update cover:

4 Current concepts – particularly as they relate to management of patients with advanced periodontal disease

4 New developments and a general update in periodontics4 Systemic diseases’ influences on periodontal disease, patient management, and

periodontal medicine4 Management of office emergencies and diagnosis of oral lesions

Oral board exam preparation is more important than ever. For the past five years, the average annual passing rate for the oral exam was lower than the average annual passing rate for the qualifying (written) exam.

Consider registering for the 2 ½ day literature review course if you are: a practicing periodontist; an interested general dentist; or an AGD member seeking perio CE credits toward your Fellowship or Mastership.

This course is not approved, recommended, or endorsed by the American Board of Periodontology and thus should not be construed as an official guide in the preparation for any certifying board examination. The statements, ideas, and opinions expressed in this course are those of the individual participants and in no way should reflect the statements, ideas, and opinions of any specialty certifying organization.
