LP MATH DEPT NEWS | Issue 2 2

Assorted Activities This month we highlight some of the things taking place both inside and outside of the LP classrooms. Below are some examples of department happenings:

Elizabeth Olinski – I set up a color-coded system for phone collection, pink = phones on the wall and blue = phones in your bags/pockets. Kids learned the new routine quickly and most place their phones up there before the bell rings.

The math department celebrated 20 donations to the Lake Park Education Foundation (LPEF) with a hot breakfast at both campuses. Gina Ratner and Tom Kaberna cooked for East on September 18th and Ben Bishop, Margaret Gawrych, and Candice Sagliano cooked for West on September 21st.

Tom Kaberna – As a guest author, I visited Hawthorne Elementary School in Vernon Hills on September 14th to read my children’s book to a group of students. My book is called “Lost in the Daylight” and is illustrated by former Lake Park Special Education teacher Katie Watts. It can be purchased on Amazon.com.

Kristin Harrington – On September 29th, Kristin completed her first Warrior Dash. She said, “I did it! And I’m still standing!”
