ABOUT CLARION HOUSING 24
This former industrial site is dominated by a titan of early twentieth century architecture in the form of the imposing Lots Road Power Station. The once coal-dusted streets, lined with warehousing and goods yards, are to be reborn which will represent the single biggest change to the profile of the surrounding area in living memory.
Lots Waterside Apartments and the surrounding development is set to build on this legacy of power, energy and electrification as a buzzing new urban lifestyle destination – a home to bars, cafés, restaurants and modern work spaces alongside contempoary waterside homes.
As the centrepiece of this new enclave, the repurposing of the former power station from industrial workhorse to contemporary use will ensure Lots Road will be a landmark for generations to come.

Well known for its tree lined, leafy boulevards, the area is also dotted with parks and gardens. Nearby Eel Brook Common provides one such oasis, ever-popular on warm summers evenings. Imperial Park, a short distance along the river, offers tranquil landscaped spaces and with 200-acre Battersea Park just over the bridge, with its extensive list of attractions, there is no shortage of green space in the neighbourhood.
For those preferring to take it to the streets, Lots Waterside Apartments is just a short hop by taxi, bike or on foot from the numerous, fantastic meeting spots in Chelsea, from Sloane Square to the Kings Road and beyond.
Lots Waterside Apartments is surrounded by an abundance of fabulous open spaces and chic meeting places where residents can relax, socialise unwind or get active.
In close proximity to the river, residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to walking, cycling or running routes, many of which meander alongside both Chelsea Creek and the Thames. In fact, a stretch of the Thames Path passes directly by the development.

THIS IMAGE – Cheyne Walk, Chelsea Embankment
Cheyne Walk takes its name from William Cheyne, Viscount Newhaven who owned the manor of Chelsea until 1712. Most of the houses were built in the early 18th century. Before the construction in the 19th century of the busy Chelsea Embankment, which now runs in front of it, the houses fronted the River Thames.

Deeper into the neighbourhood, on Burnaby Street, Lots Larder is a well established neighbourhood deli serving modern European dishes, traditional fare and freshly prepared sandwiches.
Right next door is the Chelsea Ram, a hidden gem of a gastro-pub renowned for its seasonal pies. For the full compliment of fabulous pubs in the area, add to the list, The White Horse at Parson’s Green, providing sumptuous Sunday roasts and a comforting brunch menu and The Barrow Boy on North End Road, now an Italian run craft beer house come pizzaeria, with its roof terrace and regular live music.
With so much choice, Market Hall on Fulham Broadway only adds to the dilemma of what to sample next. This hugely popular spot boasts seven kitchens, a coffee shop and a fully-stocked bar. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with 250 communal dining seats, Market Hall is not to be missed.

This part of West London has always been synonymous with music, the arts and culture, both of the high and popular varieties. Whilst Chelsea’s swinging 60s hey-day and the punk sneer of the 70s may have passed, their legacy is still very much in evidence.
CONNECTED AND CURRENT
THIS IMAGE – Punks hand out flowers to passing car drivers as they walk down the middle of the King’s Road in the summer months of 1977
Every Saturday afternoon groups of punks used to gather in Sloane Square and wander down the King’s road – a semi impromptu weekly gathering of like minded fashionable young adults.

For culture and the arts, residents at Lots Waterside Apartments will be bestowed with an abundance of local riches. To evidence this The Saatchi Gallery on the King’s Road tipped its hat to the area’s rich cultural history with the hugely popular Rolling Stones ‘Exhibitionism’ show in 2016. That show came hot on the heels of the V&A’s ‘David Bowie is Here’ exhibition - celebrating the life and work of another ex-resident. Additionally the V&A, a short trip from Lots Road, offers an extraordinary permanent collection as one of three exceptional free-to-enter museums in the area, alongside the ever-popular Natural History Museum and Science Museum.
Music venues still thrive in the area too. The 606 Jazz Club is on the doorstep of the development and has been described as ‘the best Jazz club in the UK’. Other local music hotspots include Under the Bridge (literally underneath nearby Stamford Bridge Stadium) and The Troubadour on Brompton Road. Both have a regular roster of signed and unsigned acts from the worlds of rock, pop, blues and electronica.
Film buffs are also well catered for with both Vue and Cineworld multiplexes on Fulham Broadway providing a slate of blockbuster fare. The Curzon Kings Road is currently undergoing a full state-of-the-art refurb and when reopened will offer the best of arthouse and European cinema.
For a different take on technicolor, the world famous Chelsea Flower Show takes place annually in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. This vast celebration of all things horticultural showcases cutting-edge garden design to thousands of international visitors every May.

CULTURE, FASHION &
THE ARTS
As the beating heart of the punk movement, Vivienne Westwood’s ‘Sex’ boutique on the Kings Road was an early example of the how the area attracts cutting edge fashion and retail. This tradition is still very much in evidence today.
Chelsea and Fulham offer the ideal blend of high street favourites alongside local independents. As well as a raft of big name stores including, Whistles, Jigsaw, Ghost and COS, patrons will find fantastic one-offs like children’s outfitter Trotters – a firm favourite with the junior royals.
The many exquisite boutiques of the Kings Road are further complimented by longstanding West London institution, Peter Jones, situated amongst the splendour of Sloane Square.
The famous Kings Road is just one of the many options for shopaholics. Fulham Road provides great variety, from renowned design and homeware specialist Conran to buzzing local deli, purveyor of the finest Sardinian and Italian foods, Luigi’s.
Also nearby is Parson’s Green, another hub for quirky, independent shops. Top recommendations here include Indian Summer, with its eclectic mix of hand-picked lifestyle items, accessories and women’s and childrenswear. Bayley and Sage is another firm Parson’s Green favourite. This well-stocked deli is top of the list for incredible fresh produce and excellent cheeses and cured meats.

Council Shared Equity (formerly known as Discount Market Sale) enables local people on average incomes in Hammersmith & Fulham the opportunity to get onto the London property ladder, by purchasing a newly-built home in a prestigious location at a discounted market price.
Purchasers should have a connection to the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and are able to buy the available percentage of the full market value of a home. The remaining equity is owned by the Local Authority. Purchasers do not need to pay rent on the remaining percentage that they do not own. Purchasers are also able to buy the remaining share of their home at a later date. If a purchaser choses to move on and sell their share in the future, it will be sold at the same percentage purchased.
ABOUT: COUNCIL SHARED EQUITY
If a property is valued at £400,000 and the purchaser buys the property at £200,000 they are essentially buying 50% of their home with 50% retained by the council. If the purchaser later wishes to sell and their home is now valued at £500,000 the purchaser’s 50% share is now worth £250,000.
For example:
e.g. Property valued at £400,000
