Opportunity Divide
Definition
An emergent gap
preventing youth from
realizing opportunity due to
inequities in access, skills,
creativity and experience
Underserved populations with traditional access issues
Youth that have access, but lack clear vision for applying skills
Populations Impacted
Providing opportunity for youth will require new skill sets, new ways of thinking and innovation that includes technology but moves beyond it
It’s not a common occurrence for multiple favorable circumstances to come together in the form of opportunity. It does not happen every day, and for many, it may never happen at all. Yet, while opportunity can be elusive, it doesn't need to happen often. Sometimes just one window is enough.
People speak about a "window of opportunity" being a fleeting moment…
We believe in leveraging our combined technology, brainpower and networks to make opportunity happen for as many young minds as possible. We can create contexts where skills, innovation and connections can converge into true opportunity. A teacher, tablet or cloud is not enough. And certainly luck isn't either. We must move beyond delivering building blocks, to building futures. We must empower youth to change their world.
