14 lexical areas (p.3) – a test every three weeksHOW TO LEARN VOCABULARY MORE EFFECTIVELY?

• Learn vocabularly every day (even if only for a few minutes)• Check new words in an English-English dictionary and practice pronunciation. It helps to write the

word - both the definition and a sentence you make up using the word - perhaps on an index card that can later be reviewed.

• Take notes in a notebook. Draw pictograms and mind-maps to visualise the material.

• Read, Read, Read! Most vocabulary words are learned from context. The more words you're exposed to, the better vocabulary you will have.

• Watch films and TED talks regularly.• REVISE!!!!! Research shows that it takes from 10 to 20 repetitions to really make a word part of your

vocabulary. As soon as you learn a new word, start using it.• Buy a folder to collect all the materials.

One of the best parts of summer clothing is wearing sleeveless tops and dresses; they keep you cool and look sexy at the same time. However, it’s easy for this hot-weather wear to turn from classy to trashy, from just a bra strap poking out from beneath a tank top.

Halle Berry made this mistake in May 2009, at the premier of The Soloist when she wore a floor length, striped dress with casual black flip flops. Berry admittedly owns at least 100 pairs of flip flops, but we think she should have invested in another type of footwear for this red carpet event. For dressier occasion, trade in your flip flops for a pair of heels, ballet flats or even strappy metallic sandals.
