Assignment Tasks

LO 1.2 Carry out research using appropriate resources and produce a digital artefact looking at the characteristics of different digital electronic devices. You should include the types of devices that are available; possible uses for these devices and comparison between the different families of devices i.e. CMOS vs. TTL. Include references to any books or websites used at a suitable point in your work or as a separate sheet to be handed in. You will submit your work by sending a link to your finished artefact via moodle. Definition of a digital artefact “Artefacts are documents produced during academic work” - Barton J., Collins A. (1997) Portfolio assessment: A Handbook for educators, cited after Barrett H. Pedagogical issues in Electronic Portfolio Implementation(2002) A digital artefact is an artefact produced, stored and experienced digitally/electronically. Examples of digital artefacts

Types of digital artefact include digital documents, presentations, programmes, websites, videos, audio files, photographs, interactive images etc. Typically a digital artefact contains different elements and is not just text or just images for example.

You will have the opportunity to view various digital artefacts in preparation for this task.

If you want to collect more ideas on how to present your research you could look at blogs, website design, youtube, issuu, storify and various apps available for ios or android.
