Translating the Library of Babel

This language is meant to be used by the librarians in the 3D Library of Babel in order to translate the „gibberish“ they find in the many pages of the library. It is inspired by - and generally based on - Brddte’s (LoB Forums) language but designed so it does not need any form of human interpretation while translating and is definite for any input.

Syntax

The sentences all have the same structure:

abcdef…

where a is the subject b is the verb cdef… are objects

Space Spaces separate two sentences from each other.

Period A period (.) negates the verb in the sentence. Multiple dots cancel each other out. This means the number of dots in the sentence determines whether the verb gets negated or not. It does not matter if they are consecutive or not.

Comma If at the beginning of the sentence they replace the subject, turning the sentence into imperative mood. (The sentence starts with the verb)

At any other place they represent the conjunction „and“. Two (or more) consecutive commas translate to „or“.

If followed by a space translate as and/or followed by the subject of a new sentence (connecting main clauses).

Tenses Every translation is in present tense. This is due to the fact that additional tenses would require additional verb tables for each tense and the possibility of these tenses even occurring - if encoded with more than a single character - would be so low that it would not be worth the work to make this algorithm work for different tenses.
