Bruce Quinn of WMRS Radio, and banjo player and fiddler BoJangles of Nashville will play their old-time tunes.
·Registration for the bike tour is from 7:30 to 10 a.m. on Sunday at the park. Volkswalk registration is from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday. Several narrated canal trail walks and historic downtown walks are planned on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning and afternoon. •
At 3 p.m. Sunday, Delphi Public Library's Red Brick Theatre group
will present an original play, "A Visi with James Whitcomb Riley," at th< park. The library also is hosting at exhibit of Roy Trobaugh paintings which can be viewed in the Ger her/Globe Valve Room from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Food in abundance will be avail able during the festival, including tht Rotary pancake breakfast Saturda) morning in the Stone Barn; and tht canal food stand and Parrett's tender· loins and porkburgers in Canal Park
At 5 p.m. Saturday, the · cana group will serve old-fashionec bean soup and cornbread.
Other things to see both dayf are old-time craft demonstra· tions, antique tractor display Indian artifacts, park cabins and workshops, Reed Case House tours, and oxen demonstratiom and rides.
In conjunction with the festi· val, the Delphi Chamber o1 Commerce is sponsoring come munity garage sales on June 29 and 30.
There is no admission charge for the festival. Proceeds from the gift shop, canal group food sales, etc. go toward the canal corporation's efforts at preservation, restoration, and recreation.

Pet parade planned Pretty up your pet, and parade through the
park at I p.m. Sunday. All kinds of pets and their owners, both in
;7.costume, will parade through Canal Park, :'i and awards will be presented.
Contestants will gather in front of the Reed Case House at the park. Participation is free and there is no prior entry requirement.
This is a new event at Canal Days.

Everyo:ne loves a parade ... The annual . Canal Days parade. with a patriotic theme, will be Saturday, beginning at I 0 a.m. at Canal Park.
There is no entry fee and no pre registra:tion. Units can just line up the day of the parade, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Globe
•:Valve parking lot. Categories to be judged are: Animals,
:walking Groups, Tractors, Floats, and Kids' Groups. A plaque will be given to the unit
The first JOO entries will receive dash plaques.
Awards will be given at noon Saturday at Canal Park.
The parade route will be south on Wash-ington to Monroe, west on Monroe to Market, south on Market to Franklin, east on Franklin to Indiana, north on Indiana to Clay, west on Clay to Washington and back to

of festival goers as they enjoy activities. The instant photos will be availabfo for a small fee.
This will be a chance to show others your
pet dressed for a parade, a small child sitting on a huge oxen, a bigger kid with his face buried in watermelon for the melon eating contest, or just a family shot with a scenic log cabin or canal in the background.

icipants will be west of the Reed Case ouse at the park. There will be demonstrations of pioneer
crafts and blanket traders displaying their ~oods.
Rendezvous members will conduct a memorial service for departed members at 6 p.m. Saturday in front of the Trapper's Cabin at Canal Park. The late Kenneth Red Elk will be remembered in a special c_:efemony. A Native American, Red Elk was a long-time Carroll County resident and supporter of the Carroll County Wabash & Erie Canal, In.c. and the Festival and Rendezvous.
Narrated walks follow trails and historic downtown
Walks reveal history, architecture Step into the past and keep walking on a
number of guided and na!Tated walks during Canal Days.
Walks Saturday will begin at I p.m. and continue on the hour- until the {inal -walk at 4 p.m. Hours for Sunday walks will be 10 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 2 p.m.
The first walk each day, narrated by Dan McCain, will follow the Wabash & Erie Canal from the park to the north end Founders Point. Along the way walkers will see ruins of Jimestone kilns, an i1nportant
· business in early Delphi, a canal boat tumaround and sites of docks for canal boats.
The 1874 restored Paint Creek bridge is also on this route.
Alternating with the Canal w~lks will be walking tours of North Delphi led by Charles Gerard, This area includes the old Canal District of Delphi and features a variety of 19th and early 20th century architecture. Historic sites on the tOur include .Peirce Stone Barn, Gustival Furniture factory, Bolles Warehouse and original Delphi Lutheran Church.
Walk participants will meet at the designated times at the dock in Canal Park.
Bike tour on Sunday Bike riders will start early Sunday morn
ing to take off on one of the four scenic and historic tours beginning at Canal Park.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 10 a.m .. Tour lengths are 22, 33, 54 and 63 miles. Riders are encouraged to a!Tive early enough so they Will be off the lj'ail by 4 p.m.
Registration for the non competitive rides
is $10. Children 12 or under ride free if accompanied by an adult.
The trips will be on lightly traveled paved roads and support services will be available. Those taking the two longer rides will receive· free admission to Adams Mi11 at Cutler.

Music to keep things lively Bruce Quinn of Radio WMRS will return
to the Canal Festival with his old-time and Irish tunes throughout the day. Also on hand to provide music will be banjo player BoJangles who has appeared at Branson and Nashvifle.
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m.
to 3 p.m. Sunday, festival goers can enjoy live music featuring Irish country music.
Saturday evening will be lively' with dancing to the country folk music of Baliff's Hollow. There is no charge for the dance in the Speece Shelter House at the park.
