KREATIVE KORRESPONDERAs writing and communicating

effectively continues to become a key push in our curriculumn, it is now time to introduce something new. Kreative Korresponder is a writing reporting piece where each student plays the role of reporter for the day. The K2 will be responsible for letting the world outside of P86 know what is going down inside the classroom. Each student will have his/her own day to take notes as we cover various subjects throughout our learning time. At home that evening after an action packed day, The K2 will take the notes and transcribed them into detailed events to record as a blog and

podcast. The blog must be typed in Microsoft Word or on the Neoboard and

the podcast must be recorded in GarageBand. Therefore, each K2 will come home with a student laptop the night that they are responsible for the Kreative Korresponder Report.

You can find out what day your student is the

Kreative Korresponder by going to our Calendar on our webiste. http://wix.com/smittieskids/p86live Yes this is grade!

I am enjoying the fact that many of our students are using “smart devices” like the ipod touch in the classroom. One of

cool ways of using the iPod or iPhone in the classroom is taking advantage of the great educational apps. Well, this week’s app I highly recommend.

Reminders, will enhance your student’s organizational skills, or simply teach them some. Students who are using this app are finding it helpful with jotting down homework assignments, blogging notes, calendar settings while keeping a check list of what has been completed according to the timeline that they set. This is a must have!

LITTLE KNOW FACTOn an American one-dollar bill, there is an owl in the upper left-hand corner of the "1" encased in the "shield" and a spider hidden in the front upper right-hand corner.
