History Bahram Akradi opened the first health club in July of 1992 in Brooklyn, Minnesota. This location sold 2,702 memberships in it’s first year of business. 1998 was the year that FCA, Ltd. officially changed its name to Life Time Fitness, Inc. The company currently operates in 20 states and has 91 exercise and recreation

centers. In 1994, the company was reporting $4 million in revenues, which has grown

significantly to $912.8 million at the end of 2010. The clubs offer swimming pools, basketball and racquet courts, child care, spas, dining

services, climbing walls and 400 pieces of exercise equipment (Hoover’s Company Profiles, para 1).

– Currently Life Time Fitness is offering memberships with a $0.00 enrollment fee.

• Place:– Operates 91 exercise and recreation centers

in 20 states.– Centers average size are 100,000 square

feet.– Headquartered in Chanhassen, Minnesota

• Promotion:– Offers a member advantage program in

which members can get discounts at businesses that wish to participate, such as hotels, restaurants, clothing stores, etc. An example is Great Clips Imax Theatre is currently offering 1 free admission with a paid admission to Born to Be Wild in 3D. Also, a clothing company called, Mainstream Boutique is offering 25% off any item.

– Offers a MyLTBucks rewards program that allows members to earn dollars and purchase items on the website.
