    Pupils prior learning

    The children have had two lessons relating to the life cycle of a butterfly.They have listened to books, researched some facts, and looked at thevarious stages.

    Thinking skills and personal capabilities focus

    Managing Information Students will have to select the mostappropriate information about each stage to include in their graphicorganizer since theyre only writing one sentence. They will also use arange of methods for representing information since they are usingwords and pictures.Self-Management Students will have to manage their time to completethe task in the time allocated.

    Differentiation

    By Support Students will have explicit teaching and modeling beforebeing asked to work independently. The teacher will ensure to touchbase more frequently with those students who are struggling.

    By Task Students are completing illustrations, which gives students theopportunity to convey their knowledge in a way other than words.

    Students will be able to: Accurately create a visual representation for each stage of the life cycle. Complete the cycle graphic organizer. Define what a life cycle is.

    Teacher will recap the four stages of the life cycle and invite a few students

    to share their graphic organizers. Teacher will also allude to starting the lifecycle of a frog next.

    Assessment/Monitoring

    Teacher observation while circulating the room will serve as an informal observation as to who seems to understand and who is struggling.
